Danger

Jane's POV After Stephanie had left, I felt so restless and I decided to go for a walk. I wished I had my wolf already so that I could shift and run around the bushes behind Alpha Jason's house. "Annette. Please can you keep an eye on Hilda, I want to go for a walk." I called on one of the Omega girls as I entered the kitchen. She was washing dishes. "The Alpha said you are not allowed to go anywhere and anyone of us who allows you go will be punished for it," Annette said worriedly. I rolled my eyes. "I am an adult Annette. Besides, I am not going far. I am going behind the house. I just need to clear my head," I said and started walking towards the exit. "Ok. But please you need to return before the Alpha does," Annette said and I nodded. I didn't know that he was not in the house. I had thought he was holed up in his home office as usual. He must have left after slicing me into two with his tongue. Thinking of the way he spoke to me, I was becoming unhappy again but I quickly shook it off before it once again overwhelmed me. I went outside through the back door. I walked into the bush and sat on a stump. A lot was going through my mind. I was thinking of how best to run away if I wanted to without involving anyone. I thought of running away after I got my wolf, before the Luna's rite could be done but then I thought of baby Hilda and thought it would be selfish of me to leave her behind and it would not be wise either for me to take her with me when I didn't know where I would be going or where my meals would be coming from. I absentmindedly stood up from the stump and wandered farther into the bush. I suddenly came to consciousness and discovered that I had strayed too far away from the house. The sound of the trumpet sounded in the distance and I shivered because the trumpet never sounded except a rogue was sighted around the pack or in a neighboring pack. It was a warning to be on guard. I had not heard that sound in three years. I quickly started retracing my steps back to the house. I was walking as fast as I could but then, I froze when the bush in front of me started moving. I knew at that moment that I wasn't alone. I started walking backwards but my mind was too frozen to give command to my legs to run. A black wolf with black wicked eyes emerged from the bushes and growled at me baring his teeth in a menacing way. "Please don't kill me, I am innocent. I have never done anything wrong. Please don't kill me," I said again walking backwards away from the wolf. From its stench, I knew it was a rogue and the whole pack soldiers must be after him at that moment but I didn't know how long it would take them to get there. I panicked knowing that it might be too late by the time the pack soldiers got there. The thought of baby Hilda left alone in the care of her uncaring father made me panic more. While trying to escape from the rogue while walking backwards, I fell and screamed. This seemed to infuriate the wolf and it lurched for me. I close my eyes waiting for the pain but it never came. I heard as bone crashed against bone with a loud bang. I opened my eyes as someone helped me up. The wolf that had attacked me was held down by another wolf which I recognized as Beta Shane's wolf. A much bigger wolf emerged from behind Beta Shane's wolf. I shivered as I recognized it as Alpha Jason's wolf. I was in trouble! Alpha Jason's wolf nudged Beta Shane's wolf off the rogue. He did it lightly and Beta Shane let go of the rogue. The rogue quickly sprang to his feet and launched at Alpha Jason. Alpha Jason stepped out of the way as the rogue charged then sank his teeth into its hind leg and tore a large chunk of meat out before letting go of the rogue. The rogue growled in pain but still charged at Alpha Jason. He again stepped out of the way and then sank his teeth into the side of the rogue. It was as if he was taunting the rogue. When he was done taunting the rogue, he went for the throat and tore it out in one bite. I looked away as his cold eyes bore into mine as his teeth sank deeper into the neck of the rogue and his snort became red from the rogue’s blood. I opened my eyes as someone tapped me on the shoulder. I opened my eyes to see Alpha Jason's wolf in front of me whining. "Get on him," General Leo said to me. He was not in his wolf form. I quickly did as he said and got on Alpha Jason's wolf and held his fur the way I was asked to. Alpha Jason's wolf started running at a pace I never believed was possible. In a blink of an eye, we were back to the house. The back door opened before we got there. He must have mind linked someone to open the door. The moment he got into the house, he shook me off his back and I fell with a loud bang. Before I could process any further thoughts he shifted and was standing there in his naked glory looking murderous. "What were you doing out there, you fool?" He barked at me. "I was going for a walk. Alpha, I am sorry. I got distracted and walked too far away from home," I said shivering as I talked. "I gave a clear instruction for her not to leave the house. Who among you knew she was going and allowed her to go?" Alpha Jason asked staring the three Omega girls down. One of the girls pointed at Annette and blood dried from my brain as Alpha Jason attacked her and held her throat against the wall then lifted her off her feet. I screamed and ran towards him. I fell at his feet and held his legs. I didn't know what else to do. "Please don't kill her. If you do that, I will never forgive myself. I might just have to kill myself, my conscience will kill me first," I cried shaking his legs as much as I could. He let go of her and she fell with a thud. I quickly left Alpha Jason's legs and ran to Annette. Her eyes were closed but she was still breathing. "If anyone should disobey me again, consider yourself dead," Alpha Jason said then stormed upstairs not minding the fact that he was naked. I couldn't stop crying as I cradled Annette. Alpha Jason's anger was getting out of hand. He was like a time bomb getting ready to destroy when the time is right. I was beginning to see him as the true danger that he was.
