Leo

Jason's POV I woke up grudgingly as a knock came to my door. I couldn't sleep all night. The thought of how Jane felt on my wolf and the way she made me feel assaulted my senses. I had to shake her off my back after I brought her back home before my wolf could do anything silly. I had wanted to just take her far away and hold her for hours but that would mean losing to fate and that wasn't going to happen. When I saw the rogue trying to attack Jane, it had shaven years off my life. I had felt so scared that I froze temporarily. Shane had acted faster than I and knocked the wolf off before it could hurt Jane. For the first time since I met Jane, I felt something akin to the fear of losing her. When I had brought her home I had felt relieved but my relief turned into anger in seconds when I realized that my order was flouted. I had specifically told the Omegas not to allow Jane out of the house under no circumstances. I didn't foresee any danger, I had only tried to guard against her running away and giving me the headache of looking for her. I had not thought she was foolish enough to wander into the bush unescorted. She had never left the house without company and since Hilda died, she had rarely left the house. I had acted out of anger and fear after we got to the house and attacked the Omega who knew that she was going out and refused to stop her. After I had nearly choked the Omega girl to death, I had stormed upstairs first but I just couldn't sit still. I got downstairs again and trained alone the rest of the day and night. My wolf wanted to seek Jane out and comfort her but I was totally against that. I was not going to the moon goddess. Never! If I went any where near Jane that night, I would lose because I was too wired up. I will comfort her and probably go further than that which should not happen. The knock on my door came again making me groan. I had returned in the early hours of the morning, tired, exhausted and needing sleep. I had only put in an hour of sleep before the knock came on my door. I hissed lightly before I spoke. "Who is that?" I asked groaning again. "Good morning, Alpha. General Leo is here to see you," one of the soldiers I had asked to guard the house since the previous day said. "Leo? Where is he?" I asked frowning. "He is in your office Alpha," the soldier responded and that made my frown deepen. Leo never stopped at my office to see me. He would head straight to wherever I was. Even when Hilda had been alive, he would match to our door and knock. Hilda had joked several times about the pack having two Alphas since Leo and I related like equals. I remember when I had newly brought Hilda to the pack, Leo had completely forgotten that I was not a single man anymore and walked into my room without knocking. He had met Hilda and I locked in passionate kiss. He had sworn ripely and apologized to Hilda for days. "Tell him to come to my room," I said to the soldier. "Okay, Alpha," he responded and left. Leo was my best friend. He had been my friend since childhood. Our fathers were best friends too. His father was a general too. When the rogues that caused the m******e had attacked the pack, Leo's father was away from the pack on a call for help by a nearby pack. The rogues had used magic to destabilize people and killed even the strongest. Leo and I were not in the pack house. We were in the bush near the border so we saw them make their enchantment. We had gone to a nearby pack and got help. When Leo's father returned and heard everything that happened, he removed his clothes and said he wasn't interested in being a general in the army anymore. He mourned his friend, my father so much that it almost affected his health. Leo became a general in the pack army in place of his father. "Alpha, General Leo insists that you must meet him in your office. He insists that he is not moving an inch from there until you arrive," the soldier said, his voice bringing me out of my reverie. I groaned. Why was Leo being difficult today of all days? I was not in the mood for games. "Tell him to make himself comfortable in my office because I will take a while. He should give me at least two hours," I said hissing as I got out of bed. Leo was only adding to my frustration with what he was doing that morning which was annoying. "Yes Alpha," the guard said before he left. I heard his footsteps retreating. I knew that the guard too must be wondering what was happening between Leo and I. I grudgingly did everything that morning. From brushing to taking my bath and wearing my clothes. Leo chose very wrong morning to test me. I was in a very bad mood by the time I got to my office. "Why would you insist I meet you here Leo when you can just come to my room and make my life much easier?" I asked raising a brow as I entered my office. Leo jumped to his feet and saluted me "Good morning Alpha. I needed to see you for logistics on your journey to Team’s Pack,' he said then instead of sitting, he remained standing. I gritted my teeth in mild annoyance. I walked to my seat and sat down. I knew then that something major was wrong. I had to sometimes growl at Leo just to remind him that I was his Alpha when he forgot and just treated me like he would another general. So with him suddenly being respectful made me realize that something was wrong and whatever it was probably got his pants in a twist. "Sit down Leo," I said watching his expression. I then realized that he was avoiding my gaze as much as he could. His body language showed that he wanted me to see that he was really pissed with me but he didn't want to say why. "So Alpha. I have decided that we will take at least twenty soldiers and one other general besides me along on the journey," Leo started explaining and he went on and on about the plans while I sat there watching him in confusion. I sighed out loud realizing that I wasn't going to have an easy morning either. Whenever Leo was angry, he never held back. He said his mind then waited for the consequences to start raining around him, so his calmness was bothersome. I was beginning to feel a headache. I didn't sleep all night and I was about to be roasted over the fire by my best friend.
