RoadTrip

Scarlett "Omg, so I forgot to tell you how pretty you are," Dasmine said. "I mean I have never met anyone with such fiery red hair like yours before."  I rolled my eyes. Dasmine had not shut up for the five hours we had been driving thus far. "Thanks," "No, I mean it, you are so pretty," she repeated. "So, do you think we will fit in?" "Excuse me?" "Aren't you going to stay with me?" Dasmine asked. "No, why would I," I said. "Oh, well, I mean," "Dasmine, I can't even if I wanted to," I told her. "Oh, okay," she said softly. "You will be fine," "What if the other wolves don't like me?" she sobbed. "Then you kick their ass," I replied. Dasmine laughed but I could tell she was still afraid. "You know they don't let my kind in, right?" "Really, why not?" "Because the entire supernatural community is afraid of us," I said. "We stay, down there because it is easier for everyone." "I heard about demons when I was little," Dasmine said. "Let me guess, they told you they would come for you if you weren't a good little girl," Dasmine laughed and nodded. "Well, there are some that like to kill just like bad vampires and bad wolves." "Yeah, I know. I don't think all demons are alike," Dasmine said. "Well, I don't think you are right, we don't have empathy and have no emotions," "But you saved me," "I'm not a full-fledge demon," I told her. "My mother was human." "Wow, really," Dasmine said amazed. "Human? wow. I still can't believe they existed." A few years ago the last human was killed. Before then, a lot of them were being turned into wolves and vampires. The demons joined the party and used humans to have children who looked more like everyone else and not like the monsters everyone was used to. I never really knew my mother. I have a few memories of her but she lived a sad life with my father. He was cruel and a monster. He looked it too. He took advantage of my mother and had me. I think she tried for a little bit to be happy with me but the memory of him was too much for her. Especially, when she learned I had powers and was half of what she hated. She took her own life when I was seven, right in front of me too. That memory, I pushed and locked away far in my mind. My father found me and I lived with him in hell all these years. He groomed me and trained me to be strong like him. He wants me to be King Of Hell, just like he is now. So before he dies, I have to marry my brother and I will take his place. I didn't want that, something in me wants more. Something in me still feels and it's terrifying. I am not afraid of anything but I am suddenly really afraid of becoming my father. "Yeah, they did," I replied to Dasmine. "I bet she was pretty like you," My mother had red hair like me. She had green hazel eyes like me. Well, like me when I am not a monster. I had some of her pictures and I guess people would say I looked like her. "Scarlett," Dasmine said suddenly. "Yeah," "I didn't mean to bring up your family," "No, it's okay," "Well, I told you my parents don't really think much of me and I know I am no knockout like you but hopefully a wolf chooses me as their mate," Dasmine said. Dasmine was a very pretty girl. I knew she was insecure and timid but she was beautiful. She had long black curly hair and hazel eyes. It was sad how nowadays male wolves had to be the ones to choose their mates and she wolfs had no say in it at all. There was no fated mate or goddess choosing the one for you. If you were very unlucky, you were never chosen. "You will find someone, relax," "Goddess, I hope so," "We should stop and eat something," I told Dasmine. I pulled up to a local diner. "I have to use the restroom," Dasmine said. "Order me whatever." "Okay," "Scarlett," "What Azazel," "You must not run from me?" "Well, leave me alone," "You know I can't do that," "You can but you chose not to," I said. "Look, I know, I know but I am not going back yet." "Why do you hide your location from your father but not me," Azazel asked. "You aren't bold or strong enough to take me back so it doesn't really matter if you know where I am or not," "Scarlett," Azazel said seriously. "He will send others." "Good, I love a challenge," "Scarlett," "What?" "I see you made a friend," "Not you too," I said annoyed. "She isn't a friend but this is interesting so I am taking a little road trip with her." "Scarlett this is dangerous," "For who? For her? Obviously," "Our kind was meant to stay in hell," Azazel said. "Yet, my father doesn't want that," I said back. "He wants to take over and start wars so tell him I am doing research and getting a head start for him." "Please be careful," "I always am," I told him. "You need to take care of Bast." "He is trouble," Azazel said. "See, you have your hands full so leave me be," "I'll be back in a week," "Whatever," "Hey ready to go?" Dasmine asked. "Yeah," I grabbed our food and headed back to the car. "Oh, goddess, just a few more hours and we will be at the academy," "Yeah," "So, what will you do after?" "I was thinking about staying," "Really," Dasmine said excitedly. "Mmhmm," "But, I thought you said you couldn't stay and your kind wasn't allowed," "Don't worry, I'll think of something but I am definitely staying," "YAY!"  Dasmine cheered.
