Compromise

Colt I have been feeling strange since this morning. My wolf had caught an unfamiliar scent. He had gotten excited and wanted to chase it, find its owner. The minute I saw her, I knew. I had grown up on the tales of fated mates. It was a myth and a legend but it was real for some time until it wasn't. My great grandparents were the last fated mate in our packs. They told me their stories up until the day they died. They died together. It was sweet when I was a boy but when I grew older I thought it was stupid. How can someone be tied to another without a choice? I had looked forward to making that choice but life had other plans. I looked at this stranger and it clicked. My life was not my own. My heart was taken from me. She held it in her hands and she could do with it as she pleased. Even though I wanted to run to her and take her, I didn't. I couldn't, I needed to stay calm as best I could. This was the hardest thing I ever had to do. I couldn't let anyone else know what was happening. I watched her all day, as much as I could before I had to go to class. I watched her and was fascinated by her courage and attitude. She was different from any other girl I had ever met. She wasn't cocky but truly brave. She wasn't afraid of a fight and that has all the makings of a great luna. She was very beautiful as well. Her fiery red hair and those intriguing unique green eyes with a hint of hazel in them. She was incredible in so many ways. I went for a run late at night, I felt her scent in the air so I followed it. I knew she was in their territory. My wolf and I were worried. We had to go near her and protect her if necessary. I saw her talking to one and it made my blood boil. I wanted to run up to them and kill him but I held back. She didn't even know she was mate. I waited until she was heading back to her dorm. I wasn't going to jump out at her but I wanted to speak to her. She spoke up first. Her voice was so sweet and delicate. Very different from what she let others, well Olivia hear.  She called out to me, asking me to show myself. And so I did. She thought I was in front of her, which made me laugh. I got to surprise her. I came forward and stood behind her. Everything happened so fast. One minute we were talking and the next I had picked her up and pressed her against the tree nearby. I kissed her and she kissed me back. I kissed her with so much force and possessiveness. I wanted to take her right here and now. I thought she wanted that too but I messed it up. She was walking away from me and I felt like an i***t. I didn't want her to go. "Come here," he walked forward. "Close your eyes." I did. She took me back to her room and we had s*x. We both said it was just going to be one time but it was easier said than done. After it was over, I wanted to let her know how much I enjoyed it and wanted more. I wanted everything and then some. I didn't want to leave and my wolf wouldn't let me. I was bound to her from this moment forward. I hadn't completed the mating bond but this was enough to keep me by her side, always. I stayed the night and in the morning I looked her over one last time. I kissed her forehead and then left. My wolf was angry so I went for a run. Sleeping next to her was so nice. I didn't want to wake up. I didn't need to dream to have a good night's rest. My dream was next to me, sleeping in my arms. The next day, I tried to stay away. I didn't go looking for her but I felt her scent everywhere I went. It was on my skin, torturing me. It was on my lips, seducing me. It was in my heart, teasing me of what I couldn't have. She wasn't a wolf. I couldn't let her be my mate. I couldn't tell anyone she was but I would hurt anyone who hurt her. I wouldn't let her be with anyone else. This was going to be difficult. We had a class together and I knew it would happen eventually. Olivia took advantage of the fact Scarlett hadn't learned summoning or defensive magic yet. I wanted to break Olivia's neck for hurting Scarlett. Yet, the funny thing was, Scarlett wasn't hurt. She didn't even seem humiliated. She seemed calm and like she was doing this on purpose. I knew Scarlett wasn't a match for Olivia but I was amused and happy that she wasn't scared or backing down. Later on that day, I made my way to the witch's dorm rooms. I knocked on her door. Luckily, she answered. "Did you know I was here?" I asked her. "Maybe," she grinned. "Why are you here?" "I couldn't stay away," I told her. "Maybe we can have a compromise." "Which is?" she questioned. "We spend our nights together," I started to say. "And in the morning, we are perfect strangers," she finished my thought. "Do we have a deal?" I asked. "Deal," she grabbed my hand and led me to her bed. "But tonight, I just want to sleep. I am so tired." "Fine by me, I want more than s*x with you, you know," "No, I don't know but I make the rules so," She was so bold and captivating. I would play by her rules. I would do everything she says.
