Scarlett

1010 Words
Scarlett's mask was white with red and black markings on it. It had two pointy horns on both sides. It was grinning with a Chesire-type smile, showing all of its sharp teeth. "Interesting," Sitri said. Scarlett didn't say anything. Her demonic side had completely taken over. She stared down at her opponent and with lighting speed went for an attack. Grabbing Sitri by the throat she threw him across the roof. He grunted and quickly stood back up. "An S class," Sitri said to Scarlett. "I shall leave." Scarlett ignored him and flashed to where Sitri stood. She grabbed him by the throat again and lifted him in the air. "I said I would go, release me," Sitri argued. "Let go." She didn't. Scarlett closed her fist even tighter around his throat. "Release me," it almost sounded like he was begging now. Scarlett tilted her head to the side and looked deep into Sitri's eyes. She watched as he began to tremble and kick. He was slowly dying in her hold. Suddenly, Sitri went up in flames and vanished. "Scarlett," Zero called out. "SCARLETT!" She turned to look at him. She once again titled her head. Zero and the other vampires backed away slowly. "Is she going to attack us?" a vampire asked Zero. "Leave us," Zero demanded. "Scarlett, you can change back now." Scarlett didn't answer him. Zero walked closer to her. She stared at him with no emotion. He tried to grab her hand but she pushed him away. He quickly got up and ran towards her. She extended her arm out and stopped him. "SCARLETT, WAKE UP!" "What's wrong?" Dasmine asked. She then saw Scarlett and gasped. "What happened to her?" "This is her demonic side," Zero said. "Where is Reese?" "With Colt," Dasmine answered. "We have to bring them both here," Zero said. Dasmine nodded and ran back to Reese. "Scarlett, listen to me, you have to snap back." She titled her head and a blue glowing ball began to form in between her horns. "Oh s**t," Zero said. He ran as fast as he could to hide from the blast. "Zero!" Dasmine yelled. "Bring Colt here," Zero said. Reese and Dasmine dragged Colt to Zero. "Okay, now what?" Reese asked. "She might kill us even more now," Zero said. Zero let out his claws and dragged them across Colt's chest. Scarlett growled and twitched a bit. Zero did it again, cutting Colt even deeper now. She ran towards Zero, ready to attack him but stopped when she saw Colt's blood. He wasn't going to heal while he was still frozen. Her mask slowly faded away in the wind. "Scarlett," Zero called. "Colt," Scarlett said. She ran to him and unfroze him. He fell to his knees. Scarlett fell to her knees and caught him in her arms before he fell forward. "You okay?" Zero asked. "Yes, thank you," she said to him. "No problem," Zero smiled. "Colt," Scarlett called out. "f**k," Colt grunted. "Where am I?" Scarlett and Zero helped him up. "Colt!" Olivia shrieked. "Thank goodness, you are okay. Can't have you dying before the dance." She pushed Reese aside and then Zero and grabbed Colt's arm. Scarlett was still holding on to his other arm. "Can I help you?" Olivia said. "I was about to ask you the same thing," Scarlett hissed back. "Well, my boyfriend doesn't need your help," Olivia said. "Colt, baby." Scarlett was visibly upset. Colt turned to look at her and sighed. "What," he grunted. "Let's go, we have so much to discuss and prep before the big day!" Olivia exclaimed. "Whatever, let's go," Scarlett watched them leave with Olivia's arm interlocked with Colt's. Later That Night "I said I was sorry," Colt pleaded. "She is a little extra." Scarlett was giving Colt the cold shoulder. "Please talk to me," Colt begged. "I can't stand you being angry with me." "This isn't working," Scarlett said softly. "You don't think I know that," Colt said. "I have to take her to the dance, I have to. Colt paused for a moment. The silence speaking volumes.  "I have to do so many things I don't want to do," Colt continued. "I can't be with someone like yo-." "Stop right there, DON'T," Scarlett demanded. "LEAVE! I don't care. I don't want any of this." Scarlett was taking off her bracelet but Colt stopped her. "Please, don't take it off," Colt begged. "I'll leave, I won't bother you but don't take it off." "Just go," Scarlett said softly. "Goodnight, Scarlett," A Few Minutes Later "Scarlett," Zero called out. "Zero, what are you doing here?" she asked him. "I was worried about you," he said. "What happened earlier, it looked, well you must have been," "Yeah," Scarlett smiled. "I haven't completely turned in such a long time. I don't even do it that often." "Crazy, I can imagine. When I go into a frenzy it's almost impossible to come out of it as fast as you did," Zero explained. "But I knew Colt would be the only one to pull you out of it." "I heard you," Scarlett said. "I heard you calling my name." "But I wasn't important enough," "Stop," Scarlett insisted. She grabbed Zero's arm and pulled him towards her bed. "Scarlett," "Just stay with me," she said softly. Zero didn't answer he just climbed her bed and laid right beside her. They weren't touching at first but Scarlett slowly moved her hand to place it on Zero's face. Zero responded by placing his hands one of his hands on her waist. The other brushed her hair gently. "He can feel this?" Zero asked. "Yeah," Scarlett whispered. "And you're okay with that?" "I don't care, frankly I don't think he really cares either," Zero brushed his thumb across her lower lip. "I don't think I have ever met anyone like you," Colt could feel what Scarlet felt. He felt her excitement and nervousness. He knew someone was with her. Scarlett soon felt his pain and suffering. She felt his anger and jealousy.
