Chapter 4 - The Wolf Promise

Danny P.O.V

I got up and went for a run. With my amazing hearing, I could hear Alexandra was unsettled last night. I feel she went to sleep around four in the morning.

I go for a run in the forest around the pack house. It's so quiet and brisk, definitely my favorite time of day.

I saw Layla running towards me.

I sigh I could do without speaking to her today. Layla is one of my ex-girlfriends. I finished it when I took over the pack and since then she still gets all in my face.

She finally found her mate last year, so it has since been better to deal with her.

"Good Morning Alpha" she says as she slows down to talk.

"Morning" I said awkwardly.

"Rumour has it you may have a mate locked away?" She says as she uses her hand to block the sun and starts squinting.

"Ah, not sure about that…I will address the whole pack as and when I am ready, I am still figuring out everything." I said loosely.

"Mating season is around the corner, hope you figure it out soon." She said with pressed lips.

"Layla get off my fuckin back and remember who you are talking too!" I snapped back at her.

She shakes her head and smirks.

"Yes, alpha, but I care about you, but you're just too stubborn. Anyway, me and John are going to try for pups this season, thought you should know." She says, looking down.

"Oh good" I said, looking at her, wondering what she would want me to say to that information.

We stayed silent and I said a quick goodbye. I feel a little angry as it would have been so much easier if the moon goddess gave me Layla as a mate" I sighed to myself.

I ran back through the pack house and said hi to people as I made my way to my floor.

I walked through the room to the corridor, taking my sweaty t-shirt off and walked towards my room.

I collided straight with Alexandra who was reading a book as she was coming out of her room.

She falls straight to the floor and looks up at me, her eyes going all over me, but blushing when she sees my six-pack.

She looks flustered as I grab her hand to help her up but we both get an electric shock.

"s**t. I am so sorry. I should have looked at where I was going." She whispered.

"Sharp tongue for a princess?" I snapped back, wiping sweat from my neck with a towel.

I'm still surprised and thinking about the electric tingle from our touch.

"Not sure if you notice, I am hardly a princess!" She says, still looking flustered as she blushed from staring at my chest.

I walked past and went into my room, shutting the door. I head to the shower and turn it on to warm up as I look at my hand still tingling.

That has puzzled me. I wonder if there is anything behind that.

I sniff the air and can slightly smell the princesses' arousal. My wolf has definitely taken a liking to her.

"She would be a great mate," Griffin said.

"Like you would know anything, you're just getting impatient" I said to him.

I sniff the air and can no longer smell Alexandra's arousal and I jump in the shower.

My hand goes straight to my excitement, just something about her has sent me crazy, but I just don't know what it is.

Alexandra P.O.V

I hear his shower go on and I compose myself and breathe.

I can't help but think of his rock-hard chest, his six pack, his dark hair dripping in sweat and the way he was standing there.

Calm down Alexandra, I say to myself as I feel a warmth between my legs.

I grab an apple from the fruit bowl and sit on the big sofa with my book.

After a while, I heard his door open and I could smell his aftershave straight away. It smells beautiful and sexy.

I look at him as he goes to the kitchen area.

At least he has clothes on, I can think straight again.

I saw his eyes catch mine and I looked straight back down at my book.

"Would you like a hot drink?" He says, looking over to me.

"Erm..yes please can I have a tea with one sugar?" I smiled back.

Maybe he is not the bad alpha everybody thinks he is.

I see him space out for a moment, he then walks over and places the cup on the coaster.

"Thank you", I smiled at him.

He doesn't answer, he walks to the lift as it makes a sound and opens. So he wasn't spacing out, he was mindlinking someone.

A young lady walks out smiling at him. Her smile drops when she sees me sitting on the sofa. After a little stare from her, Danny motions her with his arm to move to his room as they both walk down the corridor and go inside.

I am sitting in disbelief. What is that? Rude! or am I overreacting? It's not like he is my mate, he has no loyalty to me. I feel sad because I thought things would be good here. I leave the tea, grab my book and go straight to my room.

I do some yoga stretches to calm myself and sit on the chair looking out of the window.

Such a beautiful view. I can see the forest, mountains and the village. Some roofs have smoke coming from the chimney. I look at the forest and feel so happy to see the beautiful greens. The sun was shining through the window, hitting my face and I closed my eyes. This is already better than the castle. I had no window in my room, I even had food brought up to my door and that's all I was good for. I managed to convince Adrian to get me the spare key so that I could do something other than look at my four walls day in and out. He was never keen on me sneaking around, but knew I was careful and completely understood why I needed to get out.

I must have fallen asleep as I woke up to see the sun no longer shining through my window and it's now gone down past the trees and starting to get dusk.

I stand up and stretch as I twist all my hair to tie it back.

There was a tap at the door.

I went to the door and saw Danny standing there.

"I am having dinner in the main dinner hall in the house. I will get Maxine to bring something up for you. What would you like?" Danny said, looking straight into my eyes.

"I am okay thank you, I don't have an appetite" I said, looking straight back at him.

"Suit yourself" he says as he walks off down the corridor.

Danny P.O.V

I got into the lift and saw the tea still on the side and shook my head.

She must have moved when she saw Kirsty come through.

Kirsty is one of 3 omegas that gives me a massage and sometimes sucks my d**k nothing more or nothing less.

"Maybe keep them away from your d**k now we have Alexandra" Griffin growls at me.

"What is your problem?" I linked back to him.

My wolf never usually gets involved. Maybe he just wants to settle down as we are getting on with age.

"I stopped having s*x with girls because you were getting annoyed. Do you know how hard it is and it's been so fuckin long! You don't own everything I do, Griffin, cut me some fuckin slack" I hissed back.

He didn't say anymore and I mindlinked Will to meet me in the main kitchen.

Everyone seems a little nervous around today as pack members look at me with uncertainty as I walk alone.

The pack has wanted and needed a Luna for so long, but I need her to be perfect so nothing will be rushed.

I see Will and Drew and sit with them once I have grabbed some chicken and rice.

"Hi Alpha", they both nodded to me.

"Mindlink Only" I say as I want to address something without ears listening in.

"Griffin is giving me a hard time wanting the princess…he has never taken an interest in anyone I have been with before?" As I link them, I see them smile and nod.

"That's good then?" I saw Will's face confused.

"It's just strange and that's not all". I looked around as I mindlinked them again whilst eating my food.

"She walked into me and I picked her up but my hand felt like it had some kind of electric shock and it tingled for ages after?" I said and saw Drew look shocked.

"That's strange, as you usually get that when you start touching your mate for the first time?" Drew linked, squinting his eyes thinking.

Will linked in too "Did she feel this too?"

I thought hard about it but feel I know the answer.

"No I don't think so, I know she is not my mate, Griffin would have jumped on her and marked her by now, I would have known but I just found that strange!" I said as I finished my dinner.

They both nod and agree, saying it is very strange.

I watch the pack members and see a few males getting restless and growling at each other.

I stand up and whistle, they all stand down and carry on with their dinner.

"Mating season is fast approaching" I said to Drew and Will.

"I am so glad I found my mate and that I don't have to deal with that", Drew said, relieved.

"Bet it was amazing," Will said, putting his fork down.

"We didn't leave the room for a while, let's put it that way," Drew giggled.

"I had s*x with an omega last night. I am just so randy towards this time" Will said flatly.

I mindlink them so other pack members didn't hear me. "I can't wait to get a mate, remind me to never make any promises to Griffin again, it's been 5 years of just foreplay!"

They both shook their heads, laughing "Rather you than me pal", Will said as he drank his can.

I got up and said my goodbyes as I made my way to the training grounds.

I have sixty men leaving me to go to the royal pack in the morning. I spend time thanking them and their family.

I need to make sure we still have the strength and get more pack warriors trained. My army is one of the biggest pack armies. The Royal Violet Pack also has a huge army. I guess us having an alliance isn't such a bad thing. King Carl is right. We will be unstoppable, but I won't be joining any fight he ends up having.

I got back to the pack house and made my way to my floor. I checked in on Alexandra and saw that she was fast asleep. I slowly shut the door and went to my room. I got undressed and jumped into my bed.

No way of me falling asleep. I sit up, flick through my phone and do some work. Hopefully, a new day tomorrow will help my decision about what to do with the princess.
