Chapter 3 - Long Quiet Journey

Danny P.O.V

We have been on the road for over an hour. Alexandra spent that time looking out the window. I sat opposite her and did not stop staring at her. Her eyes were puffy from crying and her face looked sad.

I am fascinated. I can smell perfume which smells beautiful, but I can't smell anything else.

Her hair is brown, shiny and extremely long. She is rather short and petite. I looked at her attire. I didn't understand what she was wearing. She may as well be wearing a tent.

"Alpha, what are we going to do with her?" Will says to me through mindlink.

"Hmm.. I have no idea, she was not part of the deal, but I don't have much choice" I replied.

"You do need a Luna, she is cute" he says, taking a glance at her.

I give him an evil look and feel myself getting angry at the thought of him looking at her. I can not understand why. I am not sure she is what I need or want. I am nearly thirty. That would be a 10 year age gap. The thought of me needing a Luna has been on my mind for years and Alexandra is far from what I expected.

"You know it's incredibly rude to speak through mindlink for such a long time," Alexandra said quickly.

Even her voice is smooth and soothing.

"Watch how you speak to me princess!" I snapped back at her.

She rolls her eyes and looks back out of the window.

I mindlink Will.

"The nerve, with so much Luna material back in the pack, she needs to be careful how she speaks to me!" I looked at Will, who nodded in agreement.

I get my phone out and start messaging Maxine to get a bedroom in the pack house ready for the princess. Maxine is the main omega housekeeper and she makes sure everything runs smoothly.

Will mindlinks me "Where will you put the Princess? Don't forget it's mating season so very soon, unmated males will be going crazy!" He looks away after saying it, probably thinking of the last mating season. We defiantly need mates soon. It's torture for unmated males. We turn into horrible animals having any unmated omegas we can get.

"She can have a room on my floor" I mindlinked back.

Will gives me a surprised face.

“She is the princess of Queen Haleena. I have to be careful, that is all” I said back.

I message Maxine so she can make sure it happens. I am thankful to Will as I would never have thought that. I don't allow pack members on my floor in the pack mansion, unless they are my omegas to clean the place, but until I know what to do with her, she will be safe.

I looked out the window and saw that it was getting dark, so we pulled into the services. Drew swapped driving seats with Richard, my second driver.

"Do you need anything? It's another 2 hour drive yet" I said to Alexandra.

Her eyes are sleepy and she nods a little no.

"Use your Voice" I snapped at her.

Her head spins my way "No Thank You!!" She tilts her head to see if that was better.

I got out and slammed the door.

Alexandra P.O.V

I wait in the car as I see Will and Danny in deep discussion. I then see Danny kick a bin and it goes flying to the other side of the car park.

I breathe heavily for a moment and think of what my brother says about being better behaved here and to do as I am told.

A few more minutes and they get back in the car.

I look up at Danny.

"...I am sorry for snapping back." I said softly as I looked him straight in his eyes.

He breathes out as he looks deep into my eyes.

"As am I" he said after a few minutes.

I give a little smile as I continue looking out the window.

I must have drifted to sleep as I had Danny saying my name and to wake up.

I looked up, holding my bag closer and rubbed my eyes whilst looking out the window.

I was shocked to see the most beautiful gates.

We drove forward slowly and stop by guards.

The window goes down next to me and Danny.

"Welcome Back Alpha", the guard nods.

"Yes. We have a guest, I would say to scent her, but well, she is scentless", he looks at me with disappointment.

I smirk to myself, why do people have an issue with me having no scent?

"Okay, I'll take a thumbprint for now so if she is out and, know no one recognises her, we can use that as back up" the guard says, smiling at me.

I smile back. He seemed nice with a warm welcome.

Danny must have mindlinked him as his smile went fast and he didn't look at me again. I do the thumbprint and then we drive on into the forest.

We went past a village with loads of houses. It is so dark now that I see the shadows of houses with lights on.

We started going up the big hill where I could see a huge shadow of a building with lights on the lower ground.

The car stops and Drew comes to our door and opens it.

Danny briskly walked to the door where a lady was standing who bowed to him.

I got out and looked at Drew. “Thank you Drew and thank the other driver for me too please.”

Drew gives me a soft smile and nods and I start following Danny.

I walked into the big entrance and could see such a beautiful marble staircase. I looked up and saw a sparkly chandelier.

It's beautiful. Everything is so modern and white with green plants. I am used to everything gold and dark purple at the castle, so it's definitely brighter.

“Alexandra!” Danny shouted as he was half way up the staircase.

I snap out of my thoughts and followed him quickly.

We go to the end of the corridor and get into the lift.

Will presses the number 7 and Maxine pushes the number 8.

We are all so quiet. I would say that no one spoke but I can see Wills' head nodding now and then and realize they were mindlinking again.

Will gets off on the 7th floor and then we get off on the 8th.

I follow Maxine and Danny and then stand still waiting to be told where to go.

Maxine looked at me. “Princess, can you follow me please?”

I nodded as I walked past a huge table with fruit on it, a lounge with a huge L-shaped sofa and, when I looked to the other side, it was a kitchen. I see Maxine go through to a corridor where there are four doors and she opens the third door.

I walked in and could see a huge bed with a beautiful white duvet and huge pillows. I also see a table and chair near the window where I can see dull lights in the distance from the village.

“There are fresh towels in your bathroom and drinks in your little fridge. Anything else you may need?”

I am shocked, this is more room than I am used to, it is beautiful.

I can see Danny leaning against the door looking at me and Maxine.

“Thank you!” I said to Maxine and to Danny.

Maxine goes to walk out and I look at the door, “Wait” I say quickly.

Maxine and Danny look at me.

“Where is the door lock?” I said, confused.

“Why do you require a door lock, Princess?” Maxine says.

“To keep me in the room?” I questioned.

“Maxine, you may leave” Danny said.

Maxine smiled softly towards me and nodded at Danny as she left.

“Were you locked away in the castle?” Danny asks, still leaning against the door.

I nodded.

“Voices Alexandra!” Danny snaps.

“Yes I was!” I snapped back.

I could not read this man. I have no idea what he is thinking and he makes me nervous.

“You are allowed anywhere on this floor except my bedroom opposite!” he says as he walks out.

I walked to the door to close it, I turned off the main light and put on the bedside lamp. I go to the corner where I see the mini fridge and pull out a can of coke and then sit on the chair looking at the village lights. It was also nice seeing the moon crescent shining brightly.

I pulled my phone out and took a picture of the scenery and sent it to Katy. I also sent her a message to say I was okay and that I have a nice room. I look in my messages and see I have one from Adrian.

'Stay safe sis, will try to help you as best I can whenever I can.'

I sent him a message back to say I got here safe and to not worry.

I think living here is not going to be so bad after all. Staying in this bedroom all day beats my little cold room at the castle for sure.
