The queen exited the infirmary and went to the room where Skylar was. Her expression hardened as she took in the sight of the werewolf girl.
"what is she still doing here?" the queen demanded.
"I brought her to face justice," the king replied as the queen got closer to him. "Asher broke the law by dating... Such a creature."He added, pointing at her with contempt.
The queen's gaze flicked to Skylar, and she took a step forward, her hands balling into fists. "And what does she have to say for herself?"
Skylar swallowed hard, her eyes darting between the queen and the king. "I'm sorry," she whispered. "I never meant for any of this to happen. I didn't know Asher was a lycan when we met. Until recently, I didn't even know the existence of lycans."
The queen snarled, her eyes flashing gold. "Poor wretch. And to think that your death won't even be enough to pay for my son's serious injuries"
Skylar's heart skipped a beat at the queen's revelation. "Asher's condition is that serious?" She thought, shaking.
Her knees went weak, and she stumbled backward, tears streaming down her face. "No," she whispered. "That can't be true."
The king stepped forward, placing a hand on the queen's arm. "Enough," he said. "We must focus on Asher's recovery. And as for her," he continued, turning to face her, "we will decide her punishment after we have dealt with the immediate crisis. But for now, she will be placed under guard."
With that, the Lycan King waved his hand and the guards led Skylar away, pulling her by the chain tied to her iron collar. In the cold and stench of the dungeon, Skylar couldn't help but wonder.
" What would become of me. will I be executed for this wicked crime? Or would the king and queen show mercy?"
Only time would tell her.
One week later,
In the Blackmoon Clan,
The news of Skylar's disappearance spread like wildfire. She had been missing for several days. Her parents and her friend were worried.
Skylar's father, a beta of the blackmoon pack, obtained permission from the alpha to summon members of the pack.
As the clan members gathered in the largest hall, the leader addressed them with a serious expression on his face.
"Brothers and sisters of the Blackmoon Clan, we have received news that Skylar, daughter of our esteemed members, is missing."
The hall erupted in shocked whispers and murmurs.
We could hear in the audience:
"It's getting worrying. There have been too many disappearances lately."
"I heard she's the beta's daughter."
"Is that why we've been gathered here? Many others have disappeared without it seeming so serious."
The leader raised his hand to silence them.
"I know this news is difficult to believe, but we cannot ignore it. We need to find Skylar and hopefully safe and sound. "
Skylar's father stood up, their faces pale and worried.
"Please, find our daughter. We will do anything to help, But we also need your help. If anyone has any information, please come forward." He said.
Lyli who was in the assembly got up and approached the esplanade towards Skylar's father. she couldn't keep the secret any longer.
She suspected that Skylar's disappearance had something to do with her relationship with Asher, the lycan. She didn't care to break the promise she made to her.
"I have something to confess." She said once in front. "Sky... Skylar was dating a lycan named Asher. I didn't want to break her trust, but I suspected that it had something to do with her disappearance. I'm sorry."
The hall fell silent, they were all stunned and speechless. Actually, some ignored everything from Lycans.
Skylar dating a lycan?
The leader's expression darkened.
"A lycan? Are you sure about this?" he asked, his voice low and dangerous.
Lily nodded, tears falling freely on her cheeks. "Yes, I'm sure. Skylar told me about him a few weeks ago. She was in love with him. She had even revealed to me that one evening when she was coming home from work, a werewolf had threatened to kill her if she continued to see Asher."
Lily paused for a moment. She seemed to retain some informations just as crucial as the first. The aplha king felt it.
"Young wolf! Do you have anything to add?” He asked in a low voice.
"We weren't on a full moon when she met this werewolf. So after much consideration, I came to the conclusion that what she thought was a weird wolf was actually just... Another lycan." Lily concluded.
Skylar's mother gasped and clutched her chest. "No, this can't be true. My daughter dating a lycan? No way!" she exclaimed before passing out from the shock of the revelation.
The leader motioned for some of his men to attend to Skylar's mother.
He was furious. "How could she do this? Lycans are our deadly enemies! And she, the daughter of one of our pack's second-in-command, committed such an abomination? This is unacceptable!"
Lily tried to defend Skylar. "Please, sir, don't blame her. She was in love, and she didn't mean any harm."
" Shut up " He scolded Lily and she jumped in fear.
The leader then turned to Skylar's father, his eyes blazing with anger. "This is your fault, John. You should have kept a better eye on your daughter. Now, she has brought shame to our pack."
John hung his head in shame. "I'm sorry. I should have been more vigilant. I feel guilty."
The leader sighed heavily. "We must find Skylar and bring her back. If she's with that lycan, we cannot allow her to betray our pack."
Then turned back to Lily. "Do you have any idea where we can find this Asher?".
Lily shook her head. "I'm sorry, I don't. I never saw him. Skylar was always very secretive about their meetings. But I do know that she was planning to meet him the night she disappeared."
The leader's eyes narrowed. "Then we have to move quickly. We'll mobilize our forces and search every inch of this city until we find Skylar and this lycan."
Skylar's father nodded, determination etched on his face. "We'll help in any way we can," he said, his voice steady despite the fear and worry he felt for his daughter.
"This changes everything. We cannot let a lycan threaten our clan's safety. We must find Skylar and this Asher, and bring them to justice." The leader said
The group quickly organized their search efforts, dividing into teams to cover different areas of the city. They gathered any information they could about Skylar's whereabouts and the lycan's movements, questioning witnesses and checking surveillance footage.
As the search progressed, tensions rose among the group. They were all aware of the danger that Skylar and Asher posed to their community, and the urgency of finding them before anyone else was hurt.
But one of the members, a young named Eric, spoke up. "I know we're all angry, but we can't let our emotions cloud our judgment. We need to be careful and think this through."
Another person nodded in agreement. "Eric is right. We need to be smart about this. But we also need to act fast. Skylar is in danger, and we don't know what Asher is capable of."
Just then, one of the teams radioed in with a crucial piece of information. "We found in the forest, a place where there was a fight and we smell the smell of Skylar and many others smells in this place ."
The group immediately sprang into action, following the team's directions to the site of the fight. When they arrived, they found signs of a struggle and confirmed that Skylar had been there. The group split up to search the surrounding area, hoping to find any clues that could lead them to Asher and Skylar.
During this time in the Darkfire, Skylar was still in the dungeon awaiting her retribution.
She sat in silence, lost in her own thoughts until she heard a noise. Looking up, she saw the same weird wolf from that fateful evening in the park, its eyes locked onto hers.
Skylar gasped and quickly retreated to the farthest corner of the dungeon. The wolf followed her, its eyes never leaving her. "I warned you, but you didn't listen to me," the wolf growled.
Skylar trembled in fear, not knowing what to do. Suddenly, the wolf's form began to shift, and before her stood a girl with fiery red hair. "Yes, I warned you but you didn't listen to me, now face the consequences"
" Who are you" Skylar asked scared.
" I'm Ginger Asher is my mate," she said, holding up her wrist to show Skylar the bracelet Asher had given her. "He gave me this, the same bracelet that the future heir to the throne gives to the future queen."
Skylar's eyes widened in disbelief. "That can't be true," she said, shaking her head. "Asher told me he loved me."
Ginger shook her head. "He was using you, Skylar. He never loved you. He was just trying to get information about your pack. Why do you think I didn't kill you that day in the park ? I spared you just for Asher to complete his mission."
Skylar felt a wave of shock and betrayal wash over her. She couldn't believe that Asher had been using her all along and that he was mated to this girl Ginger. "No, it can't be true," she said, her voice barely audible.
But Ginger was insistent. "It is true, Skylar. You need to accept it."
Skylar felt her world crumbling around her. She couldn't believe that Asher had lied to her and used her. The pain was too much to bear, and before she knew it, she fainted, collapsing onto the ground.
Skylar was unconscious, lost in a sea of pain and confusion. She didn't know what to believe anymore, and she didn't know how she was going to move forward from this
