The Lycan King, Aric, sat at the head of the long table in his throne room. His piercing blue eyes scanned the faces of his most trusted advisors as they debated the fate of Asher and Skylar.
There was a palpable tension in the air, and the King knew why. His son had committed an unforgivable act.
"Brothers and sisters," the King began, his voice carrying through the room, "we are gathered here today because the situation is critical. My son has committed an abomination."
Murmurs broke out among the people, and the King raised his hand for silence.
"This is unprecedented," one of the advisors said, wringing his hands nervously. "A Lycan consorting with a wolf? It's an abomination."
"It's not unheard of," another advisor countered. "There have been instances of Lycans and wolves forming alliances in the past."
"But this is different," a third advisor interjected. "This isn't just an alliance. This is a romantic relationship. It goes against everything we stand for."
Aric remained silent, deep in thought. He knew that whichever decision he made would have far-reaching consequences.
"A lycan and a wolf together? It's an abomination!"
"Asher is just a disgrace to Darkfire!"
"He has broken the laws of our kind. He has put us all in danger."
" Instead of accomplishing his mission and collecting information on the wolves and possibly finding out if they have anything in their possession capable of weakening or killing us, he fell in love and had fun with a wolf. This is unforgivable!"
There were murmurs agreements around the table.
Aric leaned forward, his voice low and dangerous. "I am well aware of the severity of his crime. But we must tread carefully. Asher is a valuable asset to our pack, he is the future heir to the throne. We cannot simply dispose of him."
Another advisor spoke up. "But what about that filthy wolf? She's a wolf, a f*****g wolf my king. We cannot let her live."
"My king, I had already suggested that you reduce these f*****g werewolves to s*****y, or even exterminate their race. If you had listened to me this abomination would never have happened. Never ever !" Grendel said to the Lycan King with an anger mixed with reverence.
The king's face turned red with anger as he listened to his beta's words. "Watch your tone when you address me, Grendel," he warned through clenched teeth. "I am the king of this land and I know what is best for my people, including how we deal with werewolves."
The beta, Grendel hung his head in shame, realizing he had overstepped his bounds. "Forgive me, my king. I spoke out of turn."
The king took a deep breath and composed himself before continuing. "As for your suggestion, I think you give too much importance to these s**t wolves. They don't deserve our attention, let's just ignore them."
Grendel nodded silently, unable to argue with the king's words. He knew that his loyalty to the king would never shake, but his hatred towards the werewolves would remain.
"My king, we cannot deny that Asher has defiled us with this wolf" another one said.
At this, Ginger who was in the room with her mother, stood up. "I beg your pardon, but I must speak."
"You are welcome." replied the king.
"Asher was going out with her to gather information on werewolves and better protect our pack. I followed him on his mission and I can attest that everything he did was within the scope of his duty Including his relationship with this wolf."
The room fell silent as everyone turned to look and listen to Ginger.
"In my opinion, everything Asher did was to gain the enemy's trust, not to harm us." She concluded before sitting down.
Aric nodded thoughtfully. "And you are willing to vouch for this, Ginger?"
Ginger nodded firmly. "I am."
The subjects began to speak.
"Nevertheless we cannot let this crime go unpunished my king!"
"Yes Asher must prove his loyalty to the Darkfire"
Aric leaned back in his throne, considering the matter. "Very well. We will give Asher a chance to prove his loyalty. But he must do something to redeem himself."
"Yes King. He must kill that Skylar to prove his loyalty to our pack." His beta said in a voice without appeal.
The room fell silent once more, the tension thick enough to cut with a knife.
As the meeting unfolded, someone stood behind a door listening discreetly.
"Dismissed," Aric said, standing up from his throne. "I will be in my chambers if anyone needs me."
As the advisors filed out of the room, Aric sat back down on his throne, his mind racing with thoughts of the forbidden love between a werewolf and a lycan.
Meanwhile, Asher lay in the infirmary, still recovering from his injuries. His mind raced as he tried to figure out a way to see Skylar.
It was then that Ginger came in and sat next to Asher who had finally awakened.
"Hello my darling. Glad to see you are doing better." She said smiling.
Asher who was still lying looked away from her.
"It's a pity you're sulking but that won't stop me from loving you. We all know what you did with that girl s**t. I don't even want to mention her name. You know how bad it is. All the clan is furious, especially your father."
Asher who still looked averted still didn't answer her.
"Besides, a meeting has just been held. We had to decide the fate of this wolf and you. I pleaded in your favor. I attested to them that you was only using this wolf."
Asher shuddered, but he was still weak.
"It was finally decided that once you recover, you will execute her to prove your loyalty. That's good news, isn't it? I wanted to let you know first. With that, I'll let you rest," She said before kissing him on the forehead.
Asher clenched his fists trying to hide his anger.
Once in the doorway, Ginger turned back to Asher. "My love, know that I never doubted your loyalty."Then turned to left.
Asher's heart raced as he listened to Ginger's words. He couldn't believe what he had just heard. He had been loyal to the pack his entire life, but he couldn't bring himself to harm Skylar.
"How could they even suggest such a thing?" Asher spat out, his voice hoarse from the effort.
Ginger turned back around, her eyes flashing with anger. "It's good that you finally speak, but sad that it's to question the wise decision of the royal council. Everything I suggested was for the good of our clan."
"I really want to believe that by opposing this decision you are measuring the consequences. Don't forget that you are the king lycan's son and heir to the throne. you have certain duties towards the clan. Think about it. I am leaving."
On her side, Skylar regained consciousness, she found herself lying on the ground .
As she tried to sit up, she felt a sharp pain in her head and a sudden surge of dizziness who disappeared some time later .
She thought of her family, her friends, her Blackmoon pack who must surely be worried about her at the moment.
She also thought about Ginger's words that had upset her and resolved to listen to what Asher was going to say to her before drawing any conclusions.
Meanwhile in the Blackmoon, The pack alpha had gone to the place where a strong scent of Skylar had been detected.
The betas and he were the only ones with the ability to change from human to werewolf form without a full moon.
This is how he proceeded to his transformation. As its body grew, its hair and claws grew longer, and its slender face grew a long snout.
Beneath his graying fur and piercing gaze, he was much more imposing among his people. He howled and everyone fell at his feet. His senses were infinitely more developed.
He sniffed the place since he had a very keen sense of smell once transformed into a wolf. There was the smell of Skylar and other not very clear smells, smells that one had tried to camouflage.
There were also traces of fierce fighting on the ground and the surrounding trees
Blackmoon's alpha pondered and came to a conclusion, if Skylar was dating a lycan she had met him on their territory.
Added to that, another lycan had attacked her, he came to this conclusion: "There were lycans among them". And they had to get their hands on them at all costs .
