Amy was the first born child in her father's family.The struggles started occurring in her life when she started going to school. She started going to the same school with her cousin Riya. Soon two other friends also joined them, Akash and Ajay. At first, everything was going smoothly. The problem started when the parents of these children started comparing each of them with the other. Amy's mother started to pressurize her to score more marks than the others. Second place was not an option for her parents. They started abusing Amy both mentally and physically. They always wanted Amy to study, not anything else. Whenever exams occurred, her parents used to make her sit till late at night for studies and they didn't even allow her to sleep. She was ordered to wake up early in the morning for studies. While studying, her mother used to keep a bamboo stick with her , and whenever she saw a small mistake in Amy's writing she would beat her up. Whenever the exam results came, Amy was afraid to go to her own home because her mother would beat her up if she didn't score first place. Her mother purposefully makes fun of her own daughter in front of others. Unlike other kids, Amy always liked cooking and doing other chores. Her mother used to make her do all the chores and then try to find a fault in them so she could harass Amy more in front of others. Her mother used to say to Amy that "she is of no use and will only bring headaches to the family". Amy suffered this for a long time and whenever she tries to express her opinions to her mother, the whole family tries to shut her up. The whole situation for her brother was the opposite of Amy's. He was the pampered boy of her mother. Even though Amy loves her brother somewhere in her heart due to her mother's unfairness, a drift starts occurring between Amy's love for her brother.
