We reached to our pack’s market square. It’s in the middle of the village and has some tents where people can sell their stuff like vegetables, berries and crafts. It also has a playground for puppies with a swingset, a sandbox with toys and a slide. The pack house is not hard to miss. It’s a huge yellow mansion with six floors and the main entrance has wolf statues on both sides of a massive wooden door. The servants’ door is on the first floor on the right side of the mansion. The other houses are in every shape and size around the square, though none of them is as big as the mansion. Alissa, Jackson, Sam and Lily live on the sixth floor. They have it all for them. It has 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms and its own playroom. It used to be Jackson’s gaming room, but Alissa wanted her children to have a place where they could roam wild and free and have friends over. Jackson wasn’t so happy about it at first, but now stays there with the pups when he has free time. The fifth floor is for Beta Jones and Gamma Henry and his mate Diana. Jones and Jackson have known each other from puppy daycare. Jones is Jackson’s right hand, and they do almost everything together. They are both 32 years old, like Alissa, but sometimes act like fifteen-year-olds. That is, of course, when people from our pack don’t see them. But I see, and because of their mistake, so does Alissa. It’s funny to see grown-ass men getting scolded by one of their mates. And usually it’s fun only because I have been agitated them. Jones’s wolf is Koi. He is a dark brown wolf and almost as big as Jackson’s Daemon. Kuura gets along with him very well. They usually have some kind of running match and see who is the first to hunt a rabbit down. Henry the Gamma is a silent type and that makes him scary. He is a big man who looks a bit like a statue on Eastern Island. He is the head warrior and makes sure that everybody has their combat training taken. He also protects Alissa and the pups. I couldn’t imagine anyone who would be better at that job. His wolf Mars looks almost red. I once joked about his wolf’s color, that in the past life it killed so many rogues that it has stained his fur in this life. Henry just smiled and said that was ridiculous, but kept smiling. Nice guy. His mate, Diana, is awesome. She is a pack’s nurse, so we have a lot in common. We sometimes share our war stories with our patients, and sometimes they are so disgusting, so people just disappear around us. But we don’t mind. Our work is something that needs a strong mind and an even stronger stomach. The most important thing is that they all get along with Tom. Here he is one of the guys and girls. They always welcome him with open arms and try to steal him from me from time to time. It’s like the Playstation 5 and some stupid game is more important than me. I live on the fourth floor. Jones, Henry and Diana welcomed me to the upper floor, but I chose to stay there. I like my peace and quiet after my long hours driving an ambulance. I have my own huge room with a king-sized bed, a bathroom with a tub, walk-in closet and couch, TV and Xbox. The reason why I’m upset with the guys hogging Tom on Playstation is that I’m an Xbox girl. PS is for the mainstream and Xbox is for old gamers who understand playing. Or that’s something I keep saying. Usually we are not supposed to work outside the pack, but I had made up my mind and put my feet down with this. I work in a city nearby only 30 minutes' drive away. Our work schedule is 24 h in 48 h off 24 h in. I do take extra hours, so I can take summers of. Summers are usually quieter because humans take vacations and leave the city. And because I really don’t need that much money, I prefer my free summer. I love my job. The rush of adrenaline when you have to make quick decisions to save someone’s life. Driving through a city in the rush hour to make it there on time. I love it and my wolf Kuura loves it. She is a huge help when I need a little extra strength, and she doesn’t mind the smell of blood. She also has an excellent sense of different drugs, so we can identify the overdosed substances easily. My coworker Jessica and I are a dream team. Despite her being a human, we work so well together. It feels like we don’t need any words when we arrive at a crash scene or cardiac arrest. She is also single, so sometimes we go out together and dance all night long. We are quite popular with firefighters and police officers, but we try to keep our pants on and head clear. Jessica doesn’t know I am a wolf, so she doesn’t know about mates either. I am no virgin, but I don’t sleep with other wolves. I respect the idea of Goddess given one and only mate, but let’s be real. I don’t know if I will live 100 or 500 years. If I don’t ever find my mate, it’s a hell of a time to live without s*ex.
