Chapter 9: It’s Really That Easy
Sydney had not called Kayla for several days, but she’d also taken Kayla’s advice and avoided Rebecca. The combination was good. She drilled, she pitched, and she focused on the reasons she’d come to camp in the first place. She hung out with Alyssa Tang and a few girls from other high schools, and even Grace Fauatea’s teasing stopped bothering her.
She’d made really good progress, and Danielle Baker had even given her a compliment earlier that day. She didn’t want to go home, but it was the second to last day of camp. She couldn’t stop thinking about it. Dinner was over. The bugs were out. The other girls were having a party in the main building.
