Ch 6. The Mark

1223 Words
A couple more days had passed since the mark had been exposed. The mark was beautiful and always had been. Within the lines of the wolf pattern, a hint of teal glittered through out. Blaire was still trying to figure out what it all meant, at the same time she was glad there as an explanation for her odd birthmark. She understood that they belonged together. However, she was human and he was not. Draven had said it would be difficult for her to stay as she was, accidents happen. Blaire sighed to herself and walked to the window. She was pleased they could uncover the windows, it had almost been a week since the hurricane started.  The hurricane had subsided for the mean time, giving Draven a chance to leave so he could feed. The radio in his truck stated that there was another mass cell coming, and that everyone needs to re-gather supplies. Draven was going to do just that, after he feeds. Pulling his truck over to the side, he turned the ignition off. The sun had set, leaving the moon to take on its role in the sky. Draven got out of this truck and headed off into the park area. Usually this time of night, there were enough lurkers that he could snag and not have anyone notice. Draven didnt have a type, only thing he did not bleed dry were children. Walking around for a bit he found his perfect target. A hooker with blonde hair. Draven watched her, she was trying to find someone to spend the night with. "Perfect". Draven walked over to her. "Looking for a date?" The girl looked at him and smiled "oh yeah baby, lets go over there where we can be alone" She gave him a seductive smile and lead him over to a wooded area of the park. "Perfect". Draven growled under his breath, he walked along side her. He had no intention of having s*x with or making out. He just wanted her blood. The blonde turned to face him once they were out of everyone's view, smiling she backed up against a tree, pulling him into her. Draven gave her a wicked grin, his fangs sliding from his gums. Her eyes went wide as she let out a scream. Draven cut her scream short by pinning her to the tree and sinking his fangs into her neck. Her blood spilled into his mouth and flowed down his throat. Her screams were muffled with his hand, she tried to fight against him. She tried hitting him, punching him as well as she tried to kick him in the groin. Groaning against her throat, he could feel her fight leaving her. Keeping her pinned between him and the tree, Draven held her until she stopped moving completely.  Once he was finished his fangs retracted and he let her lifeless body hit the ground. Draven didn't bother hiding the body, there's no chance he would ever get caught. Humans hide behind their science when it comes to things like this. He smirked as he checked himself to make sure he had no blood on him. Once he was satisfied he was cleaned off enough, Draven left the wooded area and headed back to his truck. The storm was on its way and he needed to go gather supplies for Blaire.  Blaire took the opportunity to go outside. The sun wasn't out, but it was still nice to feel the fresh air on her skin. Walking around the yard, she noticed how nice the landscape was. Draven certainly had a nice home.  Blaire could smell the rain coming but decided to stay out for a little while longer. Walking along a path she found, she ventured into a small garden. Blaire smiled, she thought it was so peaceful out. Taking her time, she wondered around. She noticed the sky was darkening fast, so she decided to head back up to the house. On her way, she tripped over a branch, hitting the ground with force. However,  as she broke her fall, she impaled her side on a piece of metal debris. "f**k" Blaire moved and felt pain shooting up her side. Looking down, she saw the metal debris sticking out of her side. "Stupid" Blaire muttered to herself, how was she going to get out of this mess. She had no idea when Draven would be back, or if he would even know where to look. Gathering all her strength, she managed to stand up and limp her way back towards the house. Just as she reached the front lot of the house, Dravens pick up pulled up. Draven parked the truck and jumped out. He was at her side before she could even blink. "What the f**k happened!?" Panic laced his voice. Seeing her with a short metal frame sticking out of her side was a sight in its own. Blaire groaned a bit, telling him she had just gone for a walk, lost her footing and fell. His face softened as he gently picked her up, carrying her back into the house. "Lets get this out of you". Draven carefully placed her down on his kitchen table. "Now i need you to lay back and relax, this is going to be painful. I will do my best to keep it as quick and painless as i can" His voice was soft, he knew she was in pain, but he needed to remove the metal spike. Leaving her so she could lay down, he grabbed a bunch of towels and some medical supplies. Blaire bit her lip as she laid back on the table, she took her sweater off putting it under her head. She wanted to stabilize her head, using her sweater as a pillow seemed like a good idea. Her eyes caught Draven as he walked back towards her, he had an arm full of towels as well as a medical kit. Biting her lip, she waited. Draven stationed the towels around her wound and the spike, as well as rolling one up and putting it under her lower back. He grasped the piece of metal with his hands and looked at her "I'm going to count to three......one.....two....three" With that he pulled it out. Quickly he placed a towel on her wound, stopping the bleeding. "Ahhh f**k!" Blaire groaned out between clenched teeth, the tug of the metal sliding out of her flesh hurt like hell. Surprisingly though, it hurt less when he put pressure on her side. However, all of a sudden she felt like she was either going to get sick or pass out. Draven must have picked up on it, because after he finished wrapping her, he propped her up against him. "Here" He elongated his thumb nail and sliced his wrist. "Take my blood. you'll heal a bit faster then you would normally" Blaire was hesitant "wont that turn me?" "No" Draven pushed his wrist to her until she took it. Once she did, he felt a little more relieved. "Only way for you to turn is through my venom, taking my blood will only heal you to a certain point. It will stop the bleeding, and there will be a scab on it in about an hour" As soon as he was satisfied she had enough to heal, he took his wrist away and healed it.
