Chapter 4

Shilpa looked at Bhavesh.He was drinking liquor without any control.She was shocked to the core to see him drink like a pure drunkard.Her sweet Bhavesh was looking insane in the drunken state.

She walked towards him.

“What are you doing?You are drinking too much”.

Bhavesh asked her without bothering about her words,

“ Why should you mind?”

Gauri just blasted at him.

“I mind.Because..because…”She stammered as she was not able to complete her sentence.

Bhavesh asked her in a sarcastic tone,

“Are you my beloved?”

Shilpa’s heart got pierced.In this condition it was not possible for her to admit her feelings for him.

Her lips shivered..

"No.But you are my best friend and I can’t see my best friend destroying himself".

She pulled the liquor bottle from him.

Bhavesh was stunned by what she did.

“What are you doing?”

She gave him a stern look.

“Enough of drinking”,

She ordered him in the sternest voice.

Shilpa dragged him out.

“What are you doing?The party is not over yet”,

Bhavesh said so to stop her from taking him out.

But his words had little effect on her as she understood that these parties are toxic for him because of the drinks being served there.

“But you need not be here.You are staying in the same house.Right?I will drop you there.You can’t drive in this drunken condition”.

Shilpa pushed him inside the car and started driving.She looked at him painfully.He was too weak to respond or object it.

They reached his house.Shilpa pulled him out and led him to the veranda. She rang the bell.

Gopika opened the door.She was stunned seeing Bhavesh with Shilpa.

Aryan who came there blinked his eyes with shock.

Shilpa was excited to see them after a long time.

“Aryan bhaiyya(Brother)..Gopika didi(Sister)…you both did’nt recognize me?I am Shilpa.Bhavesh’s best friend and your junior in school”.

Aryan smiled.

“You think that we did’nt recognize you?”

Gopika smiled emotionally,

“We remember you very well Shilpa”.

Gopika hugged Shilpa.Shilpa was very happy.

Shilpa said,

“I thought you both forgot me”.

Aryan said with a lovely smile.

“Even if you forget us, we won’t forget you Shilpa”.

Gopika said,

“In fact we wanted Bhavesh to meet his childhood friend Shilpa at the reunion party”.

Shilpa smiled.

Shilpa’s smile faded as she thought of Bhavesh.

“Bhavesh is drunk.That’s why I brought him here”.

Bhavesh was standing still.

Aryan said painfully.

“We guessed that.He always gets drunk.So we are not shocked”.

Shilpa was absolutely shocked to know that it was something normal for Bhavesh to get drunk daily.

Shilpa asked them,

“Why are you both not controlling him?”

Aryan said painfully.

“After we lost our parents, I had become Bhavesh’s father.But still he does’nt listen to me now.After he lost his love, he is out of control”.

Shilpa became upset.

But Shilpa was not willing to watch Bhavesh drink helplessly.

“I can’t leave Bhavesh like this.Gopika didi(Sister)..please show me Bhavesh’s room”.

Gopika showed her the room.Shilpa opened the bathroom and led Bhavesh to the bathroom.She took a bucket of water and poured it upon him.

Bhavesh yelled at her,

“What are you doing?Are you crazy?”

Shilpa also replied to him in a loud voice,

“You were not in your senses because of drinks.So I poured cold water on you”.

Bhavesh was irritated to the core.

“What is your problem if I drink or not?”

Shilpa replied,

“I had answered this question before itself.But you were not in your senses.I am your friend.So I won’t let you get destroyed.Why are you drinking?”

Bhavesh replied like a innocent sad child.

“Because I want to forget my pain”.

“You fool.Drinks won’t help you to forget your pain.You are a selfish creature.You think that you are doing this because you are Gautami’s true lover.But you are wrong.Gautami will hate it if she watches it from the heaven.And have you ever thought of your brother and sister in law who love you like your parents?How much pain are you giving them?

Bhavesh’s heart got pierced as her words were making him realize for a moment that he was hurting his family too.

Shilpa saw a liquor bottle on the table.She took it and gave it to him.

“If you can’t understand it,drink this”.

Bhavesh was lost in thoughts.After a moment, he threw the bottle breaking it and cried bitterly.

Aryan, Gopika and Shilpa smiled tearfully.

Shilpa wiped Bhavesh’s tears looking deeply at his teary eyes.

She took the towel and wiped his wet hair.

“Change your attire.Otherwise your doctor brother and sister in law will have more work looking after you.I have to leave now.Will visit you later..you duffer!”.

Shilpa got out of the room.Aryan and Gopika followed her.

Gopika thanked her,

“Thank you Shilpa.Because of you, I think Bhavesh will stop drinking”.

Aryan said,

"Shilpa…You are having a very good influence on him now also like before”.

Shilpa smiled bidding them good bye.

Shilpa went back home.All were curious to know about Shilpa and Bhavesh meeting.

Avantika asked her,

“Shilpa..did you see Bhavesh?What’s his attitude towards you?”

Shilpa was in tears.Her tears made others restless.

Keshav asked him without any peace of mind.

“What happened Shilpa?”

Raj was losing his patience.

“Tell fast”.

But unlike the impatient Raj,Rakhi believed in patience.

Rakhi tried to calm down Shilpa.

“Shilpa..relax and tell”.

Shilpa told them everything.

They were shocked.

Shilpa cried hugging Rakhi and Rakhi tried to console her.Keshav,Avantika and Raj were numb as if their last hope also broke.

Avantika Keshav were in their room.They did not want Shilpa to hear them talk about her matter.

What Avantika heard from Shilpa was something she could not even imagine.

“What ?Bhavesh loves Gautami?

Keshav was also shocked as he could not imagine Bhavesh loving someone else.

“How can he..?”

Raj was in a dilemma.He was confused about the whole matter.

“I can’t understand anything”.

But Rakhi was not breaking her own brain thinking of Bhavesh loving Gautami.Surprisingly she was at peace.

“But I know everything.I know why Bhavesh loved Gautami and why and how she died”.

All were looking at Rakhi eagerly.

Rakhi told them something.

They all were in shock.

“Whatever! Bhavesh and Shilpa should unite”

That was all Raj had to comment about this.

Keshav’s mind got peace as he listened to Rakhi’s explanation.Now he is hopeful about the union of Bhavesh and Shilpa.

“Let Shilpa heal Bhavesh’s wounds like she wishes.It will bring them closer”.

But Avantika was still not convinced about the whole thing.

"But why this twisted way?Why can’t Shilpa just confess her love to Bhavesh and Bhavesh just accept her?

Keshav had a reply which could be silly or interesting based on each person’s view.

“Life is complicated and love is too complicated Avantika”.

But Avantika had only one thing to say.

“I just want my daughter to be happy”.

Rakhi assured her,

“Very soon they will unite and happiness will be spread everywhere around Shilpa.Just wait mummy(Mother)”.
