Chapter Fifteen: The Apples Shall Not Be Touched.

[Melanie: An apple tree huh, that's something to see alright. I wonder if they're fresh. I mean they're red as fresh blood and there's no sign that this tree has been invaded with bugs or stuff so surely this tree must've been taken good care of, and it doesn't seem like anyone owns it, so it's safe to assume it's okay to pick at least some apples, I suppose.]

Melanie stretches before she tries something dumb and starts to back away from the tree.

She then inhales and starts running to the tree.

She tries to climb the tree by trying to walk on the tree by speed, but her foot slipped leading to her fall near Joseph as he snaps back from reality and looks around only to see a dizzy Melanie after hitting head first.

It looks like there's no more automatic healing in this world, since when they get hurt in the afterlife, they suddenly feel better, but that doesn't treat their wounds and it could be literally skinless skeletons fighting.

Joseph grabs her on the shoulder and starts to shake her really hard, which led her to get my dizzy as she stands up, covering her mouth looking for a place to throw up.

She finds a bush where she quickly rushes to it, but she tripped and fell, but luckily her face was inside the bush, and so then she went to throw up.

Joseph scratches his head on what's going on, but what he sees on top of him is apples. It looks fresh and red!

He looks around making sure no house or even sign that says someone owns this apple tree, so he decides to get up and try to maybe throw his shoes to a weak branch that holds an apple, but once he does throws his shoe, it was suddenly frozen and then launched back to Joseph which he panicked and quickly dodged.

The shoe landed on the ground with the ground having lots of cracks surrounding the shoe as ice started to slowly form, but he quickly destroyed the growing ice with his other shoe as he gets the other time immediately

But after that there's only one thing that's left in his head after seeing literal growing ice land on the floor with such force it broke the ground.

Melanie comes back, with her head still hurting, just a bit, but she managed to stand up and walk back here.

She was surprised to see the part of the ground that's in front of Joseph has a growing icles.

[Melanie: U-Uh what the- I...Is that ice…? But it's like 70 degrees out here! W...why is it growing like it's winter or something??]

[Joseph: That's what I want to know after getting my face almost pierced by my own icey shoe! B-but I think it's *hah* magic. Ice magic if I have to guess.]

Melanie looks up at the tree, and finds nothing unusual there, and thinks nothing is wrong, but there's literally growing ice here, and Joseph couldn't possibly do this because he's like the Angel. From what Melanie knows, supports only debuff and buff, and that's basically her knowledge of games and roles. 

Melanie looks up again to see if there’s really nothing over there, and after confirming it for the second time she grabs Joseph’s shoe there and tries to make an apple fall by throwing his shoe again, but this time there was a tiny spark that surrounded the shoe and once it fell it starts to catch on fire.

Immediately they went out of the way to make the shoe land, but that didn't stop the fire, so with no choice, Joseph picked it up, feeling it’s burning hotness as he readies to throw.

Thanks to his father, he knows how to throw something like a baseball, so he does exactly that and throws it very hard at the fountain and luckily it didn’t before enough to destroy the shoe entirely as the fire went out once it reached the waters.

Joseph relieved looks at the throw as he tries kicking the tree with his other foot that has his other shoe on.

[Joseph: Oi! Somebody is there! I can tell! Get out of this tree! You almost made me walk shoeless! Come out of there!]

[Melanie: Ughh, J-joseph- Agh my head- ...I-I don’t think no one is there, I-I think it’s one of those, you know, magic defenses? Come on, think a little]

[Joseph: If there’s something like that, there should be something we can see, there’s no way it can be invisible. COME OUT!!! OR WE’LL BURN THIS TREE DOWN WI- uhh WITH THIS-  eh, LIGHTER IN MY POCKET! Just come out!]

[Melanie: You sound nothing like Liam, your threats are dull like rocks.]

[Joseph: I wasn’t even trying to be like Liam!]

…

“Fine then, you shall die where you stand you puny humans!”

*!

Three fireballs suddenly appeared at the top of that tree as it quickly zoomed in on them but Joseph only managed to dodge by panicking the s**t while Melanie was looking at him, after seeing that Melanie isn’t even being hit she gets bored.

Joseph tries to use Melanie as a cover but the fireball went past her and to Joseph but luckily he managed to run away, but that didn’t stop him from getting a punch in the head by her sister for attempting to use her as a shield. He started running around the tree thinking of a plan.

[Joseph: God damn it! Whoever is in that tree must’ve been really pissed off of me since it didn’t even target Melanie. It reminds me when her stupid freinds wont let me come in because she’s so “special” I have to quickly do something, can I cast magic or something? What do I shout out??]

Joseph stops running and faces the fireballs with his hand reached out, believing something inside him will come out and protect him.

…

He looks away and screams like a little girl fearing that he’s going to get hit by the fireball and which it did as his hand starts to burn which he quickly tries to put away but it only spreaded in his clothes.

He looks around, but the only water nearby is the fountain which he quickly runs for.

Melanie just sighs as Joseph’s stupidity as she looks at the tree rubbing her chin, wondering what could be causing those fireballs.

“Hey! Aren’t you going to leave as well?!”

[Melanie: Who the fu- !]

A single blue bright light appears out of the three and it starts to complain, Melanie get’s confused on what the f**k it was, and it looks dangerous.

Guess she has to stand her ground or something when it comes to these situations.
