Chapter 4 : The Examination

"How did you know, I have it?" I asked still shock.

"The moment you helped me. Btw, it is not the point. As I was saying the examination is not just to determine whom will be chosen to enter the school. But to determine where you belong..." His face held seriousness.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked feeling the curiosity building on me.

He looked at his watch "I don't have time to explain everything but I'll give you some brief explanation..." He said in a hurry "As I said the examination will determine where the students belong. They will be test to what course they fit in..."

My forehead furrowed in curiosity wanting him to continue "The Government Senior High School have three courses..." he added.

"What are those courses?"  I cut him off can't wait enough for an answer.

"Fighter Course are composed of the students with the best fighting skills. Genius Course are composed of students with the smartest brain. While the Special Course are composed of students having special powers..." he explained.

"Oh my gosh! Really!? Will they also determine my course? What if they will discover that..." I frantically stated but he cut me off.

"They will, with the use of the examination..." I stopped the moment I heard it and now I'm becoming hesitant whether I'll join or not.

"But, I told my dad I'll hide it the best that I can..." my voice held sadness and defeat.

"Well, if you want I can help you." I immediately looked at his now smiling face.

"How!?" I asked excitedly. OMG! I still have a chance.

"Mentos!?" I asked shock but suddenly I got a vision of me in a glass tube with a scientist outside the tube looking at me. What was that? Is that the body scanner test?

He laughed "It's not just a mentos, okay? It's more than that..." then he got serious "It will freeze your brain for half hour, just enough time to complete the test." He stated and looked at his time. "I think I have to go now."

I smiled at him "Thank you so much!"

"Well, I owe you my life and that's the only thing I can help you of." He stand up, smiling.

"It means so much to me! Thank you!" I exclaimed to his retreating back.

I saw him raise his hand "See you whenever I see you!" He yeld and I laugh.

"Yes sir!" I shouted still smiling.

Suddenly, I remembered... Oh my gosh!! I forgot to ask his name!! So stupid of me! I got fond of talking to him that I forgot to ask his name...

Aish, next time I'll see him, I'll ask his name.

"Ow, sweetie. I'm sorry we take longer. We got fond of talking with him." Oh my mom and dad is already back.

"It's fine mom. Btw, how is it?" I asked.

"We just got your application form!" Mom exclaimed waving the papers and my dad laughed. I smiled.

"He also explained to us what you have to do and where exactly you will go on your examination day. But for now, let's take a rest." Dad said and I nodded.

"Yup, let's go sweetie. Mr. Malaya is too kind, he already reserved us a hotel room. And everything is on his expense." My mom added.

"What, really!? Oh my, I wasn't there to thank him personally." I told them.

"Mr. Malaya wasn't there sweetie. It was his personal assistant, he told us that today, Mr. Malaya got some important appointment. But, he said that next time, Mr. Malaya will meet us personally." My mom smiled weakly, she also wanted to thank him personally.

I nodded. How come Mr. Malaya wasn't there if he knew that we will be coming today? Well, they said that he got some important appointment...

A week have passed and we've been staying here in the hotel but dad decided to go home yesterday because he's needed in their company.

He just got his promotion but he decided to come with me, I'm too lucky to have him and of course to have a lovely mother.

"Sweetie, bring this lunch box, okay? Don't you ever forget this. What if you'll get hungry?" My mom reminded me for almost tenth times. I nodded.

"I'm sure you can do it. Good luck." She smiled at me.

"Thank you mom." I smiled back.

"Now, off you go." She pushed me slightly towards the door. I laughed.

"Yes mom!" I yelled at her still laughing.

I entered the car that Mr. Malaya sent here, to bring me in the examination place. Yes, today is the entrance exam.

When I got out of the car I saw more than a thousand of teens at my age. This place is like a close wide field with so many chairs occupying it.

"Kelly!" The driver called me, he was also the person drove us last week from the airport.

"Any how, any who?" I joked at him.

He laughed "I'll go now, I'll come back at exactly 5:00 pm. Meet me here, okay?"

"Aye! Aye! Captain Martin!" I made a salute position as he laughed at me again.

"What a funny kid." He said to himself smiling while shaking his head as he got inside the car and drove away.

He introduced himself as Martin. So, I called him Captain Martin. I kinda like it.

I was walking when suddenly someone bumped at me which made me fall to my butt. Ow, it hurts!

"Ow, I'm so sorry. Are you okay?" I looked up to see a beautiful girl. She wore a white jacket that flows down to her knees and a white gloves...

"I'm fine." I smiled at her.

"Here, let me help you." She smiled offering her hand. I took it but then a vision popped up on my head...

A little girl version of her crying in front of a man who's holding a knife, smiling devilishly at her. Suddenly, she stand up to push the man with force but instead of falling... the man turned into... an ice!?

"Hey! Are you okay?" The girl asked me.

"Yeah, I'm okay. I just remember I forgot to bring my pencil." I covered up. This girl have a special power!

"Oh! Don't worry! I have too many extras!" She smiled widely and looked at the inside of her bag for a pencil.

"Thank you so much!" I exclaimed smiling when she handed me two pencils. She's so kind and I can feel it. My instinct never betrayed me.

"Oh no. Don't mind it. That will serve as my sorry to you." She leaned closer to me and whisper "You know, I'm kind of running with my bodyguards." She turned frustrated then "I really hate bodyguards! Agh!"

"I can see that." I laughed and she laughed too. This girl must have been through a lot. I know, I've been there...

"I like you!" She smiled at me. We're kind of the same...

"What!? No way! I would prefer a guy. I'm sorry." I acted dumping her.

She laugh "Ew! It's a no, no." And we both laugh.

Well, it's a start of a good friendship and the school hasn't been started yet. We stopped when...

"Calling all aspirants! Welcome to the Underground field. This will be the place your examination will be held. I want to remind you that only 500 students will be chosen to enter the Government Senior High." Most of the teens I saw turned worried from the announcement. Everyone wants to be part of it.

"Now, choose any seat you see and papers will just be given to you. You are given one hour for the examination test. This..." The announcer pointed to the big screen in front "will serve as your timer. If it turns to Zero. No one should be seen writing. Or you're disqualified..."

"You will have three parts of test. First, is the questionnaire. Second, is the strength test. Third, will be the body scanner test." He continued. "Now, choose your seat." He ordered.

"Btw, what's your name?" The girl asked me.

"I'm Kelly!" I answered.

"Nice to meet you Kelly, I'm Stella." She smiled as we started walking, looking for our seats.

"Nice to meet you too, Stella." I stated.

As we choose a seat near each other. Then, the test began...
