Chapter 3

BLAKESPOV

We just arrived outside the boarderof my pack my father took the truck down the gravel road as gently as he couldas not to disturb Taylor, she was still passed out. I'd already phoned mymother to meet me in my room and bring the pack doctor. I told her what I couldabout Taylor that she was my mate and that she's human even though she had wolfparents. I knew my mother wouldn't mind she's human herself and I couldn't bemore prouder of her. She stood as strong as wolf when needed and she was awonderful Luna and everyone respected her all the same. Once we reached thepack house I lifted Taylor out the truck carefully and walked up the twoflights of stairs to my room. my mother and the pack doctor stood waiting for us she'd alreadyfilled the doctor in on what I'd told her. I placed Taylor on the soft blacksatin sheets on my bed the pack doctor looked to me and my father " I'mgoing to need you both to leave" she was nervous to ask so she continuedwith pleading eyes "I need to undress her so I can tend to her wounds. Ithink she would appreciate keeping her dignity, your mother can stay I willneed her help" I nodded me and my father left the room. I lead backagainst the wall and rubbed my face I just needed her to be ok iv searchedevery pack in US looking for my mate I'd almost given up I can't lose her now.my father must of noticed my desperation he placed his hand on my shoulder toreassure me "I'm sorry your hurting son but she will pull through, she'ssurvived this long she's definitely a fighter stay positive" I placed myhand on top of his unable to speak. I knew he was right she had to pull throughthis there's so to life that I want to give her. My mother came out the bedroomdoor pulling me from my thoughts "is she alright" I quickly wenttoward her " she's going to be ok the doctor has taken some bloods and isnow dressing her wounds to stop infection." My mother shook her head andcontinued "that poor girl has been through so much. The doctor said someof the scars are years old, how long had she been suffering like this."Just the thought of someone hurting her causes my wolf to stir in anger"I'm not sure hopefully when she wakes and when she ready to we can talkabout it. Did the doctor when she would wake" my mother shook her head" it all depends on her now she passed out from exhaustion due to theamount of injuries that was inflicted on her all we can do now iswait" I nodded " mother can ask you one more favour""of course you can" could you fetch some of Avas pyjamas and changeTaylor into them the doctor was right it would be more dignified for Taylor ifyou did it and I'm sure Ava won't mind us pinching a pair" she pulled meinto a hug " son you didn't have to ask I was about to do thatanyway" I smiled down at her " thanks mom I'll back in minute I'm just going to get somethings from the office to bring to the room I'm not going to be leaving hertill she wakes" she nodded and both went our separate ways. As I made myway to office I mind linked my future Bata Danny 'meet me in the office'.I walked in the office and began packing up the laptop and some paperworkthat needed to be done as Danny walked in "hey what's up man your mom toldme about your mate how is she". I knew she would of told him that's whythe pack house is empty bet she told him to clear everyone out for while"she's going to be alright I think, she's still not woken so I'm going bestaying in my room till she wakes but I need you to do something, maybe yourfather can help with it to" sure man anything" I need you to find outeverything can about the crescent river pack and everyone in it. As from nowthey are under investigation until Taylor wakes and decides therepunishment". He had a stern look on his face3 "no worries we will getright on it and anything else you or our Luna needs just link me" it mademe smile that he'd already accepted her as his Luna. Danny wasn't just my Batahe was my best friend he'd always had my back and I'd always had his. Growingup together, he was like a brother to me "thanks man keep me updated onanything of interest that you find". "will do" I went back to myroom and knocked on the door my mother shouted "it's fine you can come inshe's ready" I walked in room and looked straight at Taylor. My mother hadchosen a pastel purple silk night gown for her she looked so beautiful in it mymother was just pulling the covers over her the walked over to me " she'sbeautiful son. I'm so happy you finally met your mate, hopefully soon all thiswill be a distant memory for you both". I hoped that she was right "I'll be back in the morning with the pack doctor. She's going to need herdressing changed so I will change her clothes at the same time" my motheralways thought of everything "thanks mom". "my dear you don'thave to thank me".

It had already been three days sincewe arrived at the pack house and Taylor still hadn't woken. She had screamedout in her sleep a few times from the night terrors, but she would soon calmonce I was near her. I was just going through the file Danny had deliveredabout the future alpha of crescent river pack I was disgusted. There had beenseveral r**e claims made against him but nothing was ever done about it. I'dlooked through some of the picture of the women covered in bruises they lookedlike they had been torchered. I quickly shut the file I couldn't bare to lookat it any more. mad at myself that this pack had gotten away with so much forso long I linked Danny "hey I need as much info on the alpha and Luna ofcrescent river. We need to know as much as much as possible to take themdown" he linked me back "on it" I heard movement coming from the bed I stood to check on Taylor thinking she was having another nightterror when she sat up suddenly.

TAYLORS POV

I felt the light starting to flutterthrough my eyes through the darkness I seemed to be trapped in. I turned ontomy back and forced my eyes to fully open as laid there and took in mysurroundings. A white ceiling with a black crystal chandelier I turned my headto the side black curtains hanging beside a glass door which I imagine wouldlead out onto a balcony. I rubbed my hands over the satin sheets 'this isn't myroom' I could smell the sweet but muscular scent of aftershave. I sat upquickly wondering who's room I was in, as I sat up I winced at the pain ofinjuries I'd forgotten all about them. A man rushed to my side "Taylor areyou alright? iv linked for the doctor tocome". I'm so confused I don't know this man, I don't even know where I am.I shuffled away from him on the bed " who are you and where am I?" idasked in a groggy voice. He rubbed his stubbly chin, his eyes had darkcircles like he'd not slept for days, but his eyes so dark they almost lookblack just like his hair as black as night had a messy look to it but his eyesheld so much emotion he really looked concerned about me. "I'm Blake thesoon to be alpha of black moon pack I brought you here to my home" I'mstill confused to why I'm here " why am I here". "I brought youhere to keep you safe please just relax till the pack doctor checks youout". I sat for a moment the last thing I remember is running to Carter I mustof said his name out loud " your friend is fine in fact he asked me takeyou away from there as soon as possible. He was so worried about your safetyyou really do have a good friend". he'd really asked that I'd be takenaway did that mean he didn't want to be my friend anymore. I felt the tearsprick my eyes I wonder if he'd had enough of looking after me. Blake could seeI was becoming upset and he walked up to his desk and picked up an envelope andwalked back over to the bed passing it to me. "it's for you Taylor, Carterasked me to give it you when you woke he said he didn't want you to think helet you go without saying goodbye" a tear escaped rolling down my cheekbut before I could open the envelope there was a knock at the bedroom door" that will be the doctor are you ok if she comes to check on you" Inodded and placed the envelope under my pillow as Blake went and opened the bigoak door a tall woman walked in with bright red hair that was curled on theends and bright green eyes she looked so beautiful and young. Blake must ofseen me looking at her " this is Maddie the pack doctor she's the besthealer around". I stayed quiet and just nodded. The doctor came closer tome " hi Taylor iv been tending to your wounds whilst you've been sleepingand they are healing really well, you're lucky you haven't had any infectionsbut I think the dressing should be alright to come off today". I justnodded along still trying to process everything. "right then first thingsfirst how's your pain before I start taking the dressing off I can give yousome painkillers if you need some" I shook my head "no painkillersplease". I hated taking medication it always made me feel worse andclouded my head. she nodded "ok if you could lean forward for me I'llstart removing the dressing". I did as I was told and she began removingthe dressings from my Back. I fidgeted with discomfort as she was finishingtaking the bandages off my back the pain got a little to much and I let out awhimper, as soon as I'd let it out I heard a deep frightening growl my eyesshot to where it had come from and landed on Blake he looked so angry his handswere in tight fists at his side he took a step forward. I naturally shuffledaway and he stopped he's face now full of regret. " I need to go, I'll beback soon iv linked my mother to come and bring you some clothes she will helpwith anything you need whilst I'm gone". and he stormed out the room. Thedoctor slid my top back down ". he didn't mean to scare you he just didn'tlike to see his mate in pain this is all new to him." MATE! I'm his matehow could that be I'm only human the doctor must see the confusion in my faceand knew she'd said something she wasn't supposed to. "I need to go nowbut if you need me for anything please don't hesitate to ask". and shequickly ran from the room. Why hadn't Blake mentioned it , that he was my matewas he ashamed of me, I am only human and he's the alpha of the strongest packand all the packs in the US maybe he's going to reject me. I wouldn't blame him,someone as weak and broken as me couldn't possibly fit the Luna description.There was a gentle knock at the door "come in" it must be Blake'smother, she opened the door and stepped inside closing the door behind her shelooked so elegant and graceful her short light brown hair falling just aboveher shoulders her eyes also light brown but look golden in the light she hadfaint ageing lines but still looked young. " hi Taylor I'm Blake's motherCassandra but everyone calls me Cassie. I'm so glad your finally awake how areyou feeling" she seems so nice and friendly " I'm alright a littlesore but I'll be fine"

"Oh sweetie would you like meto get you something for the pain" she asked so softly " no I thinkI'll be alright" " alrighty then iv brought you some clothes up ivborrow them from Ava she Blake's sister she's away until tomorrow but she soexcited to meet you she's extremely happy that her big brother has finallyfound his mate" so it is true then. I'm his mate I sighed she must havenoticed "what's the matter my dear" I could ask her I'm sure she'dtell me the truth " ermm when he rejects me would I stay in this pack orwould I go back to my old pack" she looked at me like I'd lost my mind andchuckled "ohh no dear he's not going to reject you he's been searching forhis mate since he was 16 he thought he would never find you even better nowthat he's 18 and about to take the role as alpha to take you as his Luna by hisside. Why would think he'd reject you" I picked at the satin sheet infront of me "well I don't really fit in with the wolfs I mean look atme" why would you say that sweetie" "my eyes and my hair thereodd and the fact I have no wolf I just wouldn't fit especially as Luna I'm afreak" she looked saddened by my statement "sweetie please don't everthink of yourself like that you are beautiful especially with your hair andeyes I'm truly amazed by them and I should tell you I'm human and everyone hasalways commented on what exceptional Luna I've been, Luna isn't about the wolfyou have it's about your strong spirit not a strong wolf".

I nodded "I just needed some timealone to sort through everything in my head" I told her "I think I'm goingto take a shower and have a lay down, there's been a lot to take in today"she smiled at me like she Understood that I needed time alone "right I'llleave you to get sorted sweetie, but I'm here if you ever need me foranything" I smiled back at her I know I'm going to really like her she'sso warm and welcoming and with that she left.

I finally found the bathroom afteropening three other doors in Blake's large bedroom. I turned on the water tothe shower and got undressed and stepped under the spray of hot water itstung my wounds at first, but it soon eased. My body felt so relaxed onceI'd washed I stepped out and dried myself I put on the leggings cassie hadbrought me but they hung loosely due to my small frame but they would do I'dalready swapped the pink strap girly top for one of Blake's hoodies hoping hewouldn't mind I loved the comfort of hoodies. I went and sat back on the bednot sure what to do now then I remembered the letter from Carter I quicklygrabbed it from under my pillow and tore open the envelope and started to readit.

Dear Taylor

I'm sorry you had to leave without a proper goodbye. But once I'dfound out that alpha Blake was you mate and he wasn't going to reject you I hadto get him to take you away from here to keep you safe. I love you and it killsme to see you hurt. I know you're going be happy now and free I told you, youwere destined for better things I can't wait to see you grow into the strongwoman I've always known you are. Just promise me you will move on from this andlook to your very bright and happy future.

Im laughing and crying at the sametime I'm really going to miss him he wasn't just my best friend he was myfamily how could I ever live without him by my side I'd have to make sure hevisits all the time. I laid down and slowly fell into a restless sleep.
