Chapter 7

Taylors pov

I quickly went round the bedroom collecting a few of my items. I could feel my heart breaking, but I couldn't let anyone else I love get hurt because of me. I left the letter I wrote on his desk and took one more look around the large bedroom, tears threatening to spill but I blinked them back as I left the room. I made it out of the pack house with no one seeing me and started the long walk out of the pack grounds. I had no idea where I was going to go. I had nowhere or no one. At least I have a wolf now. I could always just shift and spend my nights hiding in the woods.

Blakes pov

The doctor finally emerged from the surgery room "how's he doing" I -asked rushed "he going to be fine we managed to get the bullet out, but he's going to take a while to heal with the bullet being silver". I sighed with relief i was glad he was going to be ok "thank you doc" practically pulling her in for a hug she just laughed at me before going back into Danny's room. Knowing that Danny was now out of danger I started walking back to the pack house to tell Taylor that he was going to be fine. I remember the look on her face when I asked her to leave. I was so afraid of losing my best friend. I didn't want her to see me weak when she needed me to be strong. She only just lost her best friend. I didn't want her to be around anymore pain, not when her pain was still raw.

I got to the bedroom and found it empty her scent was weak so she had been gone a little while. I called Ava she was probably with her. Taylor hadn't met many pack members yet I put the phone to my ears listening to ringing when Ava answered "hey is Taylor with you" there was a little pause "no last time I saw her was before the attack". I ended the phone concentrating more on the room trying to catch where her scent was the strongest it lead me to my desk and I found a letter with my name on, I picked it opening it quickly.

I'm sorry for all the mess that I have caused you and your loved ones. I can't see anyone else I care about getting hurt because of me. I saw the pain in your eyes in the hospital and I hate myself for being the one to put it there. Just know I do love you and you made me feel so special the short time we spent together it was truly magical.

I scrunched up the paper in my hand and let out a loud growl shaking the whole house. I sent out a link to everyone in the pack to go in search of her only in pack lands. I then linked Danny's father to get some of the warrior wolves together so we could search outside of the pack lands she couldn't have gone far. My heart felt like it had been ripped out of my chest. I needed to find her, I need her to know none of this is her fault.

Taylors pov

I'd just got out the pack lands this was the first time I'd ever been alone I was so scared but I kept walking following the dirt road. I couldn't of been more than a couple of miles away from the border when I felt a presence behind me turned but saw no one I quickened my steps almost running. I heard footsteps behind me so I turned again Calvin was there walking towards me with a cocky grin on his face. I tuned and began running and so did Calvin quickly catching up to me grabbing me by my hair and throwing me down to the floor he dragged me into the forest of trees at the side of the dirt road. I wriggled and kicked to get out of his hold, I managed to get a good kick straight between his legs, he screamed out in pain " you little b***h, you're going to pay for that". I quickly tried to crawl away but he grabbed me by my ankle dragging me back across the ground I felt every stick and stone rip at the flesh on my back. I screamed out for help not really knowing why I know no one was there. Calvin punched in the face making my head spin and I could taste the coppery taste of blood in my mouth. I heard howling in the distance Calvin looked annoyed. " when they get here you'll be dead freak, I have someone who wants to see you" a woman stepped out from behind a tree, it was Calvins mother Eleanor, she closed the distance between us " Taylor you stupid girl, you though you could escape us, we were always watching you". She spat, as she said that a load of wolves came and stood beside her all growling, panic rose in my body I needed to shift now if I was to stand any chance of surviving. The howls in the distance were getting closer but they were still too far away. I willed myself to shift the snapping sound of my bones were a welcoming sound. My wolf stood taller than anyone there Calvin and his mother gasped in shock and took a step back. Elena shook her head "how" I just growled in response her face scrunched up in anger and she shifted to her wolf and began to circle me she tried to snap at my back legs but I was faster than her and spun round she continued to try and grab at my neck with her tiny jaw. I lunged at her picking her up by her neck I turned to face Calvin as he realised what was about to happen I tighten my jaw slowly till the cracking sound of his mother neck echoed through the forest the colour draining from his face as I dropped her lifeless body to the floor blood dripping from my mouth. I didn't care that was for carter, now Calvin knew what it was like to lose the most precious person in your life. I wanted him to feel what I felt when he sent me carters head.

Blake's POV

I'd picked up Taylor's scent. but the closer I got to Taylor's scent I picked up other wolves scents as well I ran as fast as I could. The scent turned into the woods. I caught sight of Taylor as a group of wolves were about to lunge at her. I stopped dead in my tracks as I couldn't believe what I was seeing the purple aura surrounding Taylor began to grow blasting the wolves away. another group of wolves tried to lunge at her but the same happened to them the aura was acting as a shield. the wolves whimpered and scarpered away further into the forest.

Taylor turned and looked at me then shifted back into her human and I did the same tears filled her eyes as she looked to the floor behind her I followed her gaze to the dead wolf on the floor "she's Calvins mother, I had no choice. But I also wanted him to feel the pain I did when he killed Carter" I could see the guilt all over her face that she's killed another person I grabbed her and pulled her into a tight hug "you did the right thing she would have killed you given half the chance". Taylor continued to sob into my chest "let me take you home". she nodded I picked her up and carried her all the way back to the pack house. She put some sweats and one of my T-shirt's. I love to see her my shirts even though they buried her and we both laid on the bed " Taylor I want you to know I don't blame you for any of this and neither does Danny or any of the pack. they want to fight with you" a tear escaped down her cheek "I'm sorry just don't want anyone else to get because of me" I wiped the tear away " no one will, we will fight them together we are stronger together babe side by side we will destroy them all". Taylor sighed and turned on her side wrapping her arm around my waist "I want that to. I won't run again but I need you to train me to fight I got by on just luck so far I need to know what I'm doing out there" I nodded and she nuzzled her face into my chest "I love you Taylor"

We both fell into a deep sleep ready to fight another day.
