There was only so much hiding Andrea could do without making Kristy suspicious. She had already made up excuses for not leaving the room for breakfast and lunch. But by dinnertime, she knew she had only two choices: go out and face Ulric and everyone else. Or tell her sister what she had been up to last night.
When Andrea opened and closed her mouth several times and no words came out, she knew which choice she was going with. So, she walked down the stairs after Kristy, praying Ulric wouldn’t be at the table and the unfamiliar woman who had arrived that morning had left. Even though Kristy had already mentioned catching a glimpse of the woman moments before she came to the bedroom to collect Andrea for dinner. She could still hope, couldn’t she?
