CHAPTER 1 The environment around the orphanage is serene with large trees all around , it was 7am in the morning as nyre stirred under her duvet on her bunk bed , she woke up and gave a big smile to her bunk partner a 4 year girl across the room. Nyre stood up and knelt on the floor to say her morning prayers as she was taught in the orphange , she heard noises from other room which signified her sisters in the orphange were awake too , they called themselves siblings as what other word could describe them , since they live , eat , school and grew up together . Nyre smiled sadly at her thought of growing together remembering a part of her life when she was adopted . Her roomate saddy called across to her "Mummy is calling you " she went around her daily cleaning routine as mummy Faith , the head of orphanage liked them clean and pretty. She got dressed by 8 am and went over to dinning for their morning meal. She smiled at their humble but sumptous meal as the girls in the dinning prayed in chorus " Lord bless the food .... Amen " She finished her meal and proceeded to mummy faith's office . Mummy faith headed the orphanage , she played the role of a mother for the orphan kids . Nyre met mummy Faith sitted in her large office across the lush brown mahogany table with papers sprawled over it and books arranged in inbuilt wall shelves . The children in the orphanage loved mummy faith but hated her office , having to go there meant either prospects of getting adopted, having an earful sermon on whatever bad behavior or sin you had committed as she rightfully calls it or the good news of your parent been found which might not neccesarily be a good news anyways . Nyre trembled at the thought of the latter not that she was unhappy to meet her family but just skeptical about it , The whole circumstances behind her living in the orphanage and another part of life which she definitely did not want to remember caused her to shiver . she ignored the thought as she walked into mummy faith's office as she offered her a sit in the office . Mummy faith asked how she was and how her day was going . "So about the delvins company representatives who came to our orphanage the other day have decided to grant you scholarship to elites academy in TC , you are going to be there till you finish your high school and proceed to a college or university " Nyre watched as the words flow out of mummy faith's mouth with her mouth wide agape in suprise and excitement , she was so happy with the development . Elite academy meant a litle freedom from the orphanage and access to a better education to suit her choice of career in life " a gyneacologist " She thought of new friends too apart from those in the orphange . She smiled at her thought as she collects the printed Admission letter from mummy faith in excitement while thanking her profusely and promising to make her proud . Nyre's pov I rushed out of mummy faith office as i smiled in excitement , the thought of it made my head fill with joy , i have always stayed in the orphanage . The orphange is actually a nice place , we live there, school there , it is basically home to me and my siblings , however elites academy was better , i will get the chance to mingle with people who do not share the same pathetic background as i do . I ran through the hall ways with the uniform pack in my hands , i smiled at my new school bag which i have been keeping under my bunk and removed it gently , it was an expensive bag , we might be orphans however we had nice things from donations , mother faith also makes sure we were comfortable . I laid back on my bunk as i picked up the unfinished novel i was reading . At whatever point it was , the book fell on my chest as i kept daydreaming about how my resumption to Elites Academy would be. Andrews Mansion The dinning room was quiet as the only sounds heard were the clinking of forks against the expensive glass ware on the table , Each person on the dinning table exuding elegance , rex looked up to meet the eyes of his grandfather Reuben andrews staring at him , " i heard your grades came down last session rex , is that true ?" . Rex buried his head in his food on the table as he gently placed his cutleries on the table not eating . His aunty Mrs fredrick answered on his behalf not out of love but out of spite, it was a common scene on the dining table . Aunt sophia as always seen rex as a competition , she wanted shares for her kids too in Andrews cooperation , that which grandfather reuben was not willing to give . "You cannot afford to have low grade rex, you are the next generation for andrew's corporation , you have to be perfect in everthing including grades too" Rex's father came to his rescue as he said gently dad he is still a child pls in a bid to lighten the mood" Grandpa reuben was a stiff man, a tactical business man as this was obvious from his success , he trained simon andrews with an iron fist and he was a perfectionist. He was one of the reason rex dreaded his family Rex stood up from the table after gulping water from the cup. He was pissed at his family: his unsupportive dad, who was a lackey of Grandpa Reuben; his divorced aunt, who hated him; and his perfectionist grandpa, who always complained about everything he did. He was completely fed up. His only escape was school - not that he really loved learning, but anything to get away from his house. Rex is quite intelligent; he has to thank his good genes for that, probably from his mom. His dad was not too bright, bright enough to manage a section of the conglomerate, but not all. Well, he guessed the gene was from his unknown mom - a topic nobody spoke about. He struggled as he dragged himself upstairs to his room and forced himself into the bathroom for a cold bath. He was happy at the thought that tomorrow was Monday, and he gave his breathtaking smile in front of the mirror. Tomorrow was Monday, an escape from Andrew's cage - that thought made him happy. He walked out of the toilet after the shower and placed his headset on his head, playing music on his phone, and slept off.
