After being abandoned by her mother when she was only a baby, Delta Finnigan lived with her father, Harley, in New York City. Harley, working as a middle class mechanic and experienced car modifier, provided Delta a happy life. They spent most of their time together in Harley's workshop, The Matrix. There, he taught Delta everything he knew about cars. She even worked on a few cars with him from time to time. They became best friends, and loved each other beyond compare.
However, when she was 14, Harley disappeared without a trace. None of his friends had any idea where he was, no other employees at the Matrix, no one. After searching for over a year, police found no evidence of him anywhere, so they stopped the search and closed the case. This left Delta heartbroken and alone.
Delta soon moved in with Eddie Salazar, Harley's closest friend and co-worker at the Matrix, and his family. It didn't take long for her to feel welcome, and she became close with his son, Alex. They both shared a strong interest in cars and mechanics, and worked well at the workshop. After years of working on cars, they became well known to many for their state-of-the-art modification works. Through their skills, they discovered the undercover street racing scene. They occasionally participated in races, and found that they were naturally talented behind the wheel. In her races, Delta felt something she hadn't felt since Harley went missing. It gave her a purpose, something to aspire to. Racing gave her life back.
Little did Delta know, she was about to uncover the truth, by simply driving a car.
