Chapter 8: Invitation

Felicity Pov

Blanca's behaviour was becoming weirder each day. I hardly see her these days and she hardly picks my calls. I hardly talk to her too, but then I don't blame her because I'm always in the hospital. We live like enemies in one house and if not because of greeting, we won't be talking to each other anymore. I woke up this morning very very late and I found her on her phone talking to someone. Well, she seemed to be enjoying her call but that was the attention I was expecting from her to me. I walked passed her and went to the kitchen to make myself a cup of coffee, " You're coming?...oh my God..." she said laughing and soothing her heart, "yeah that will be great...No I'll really appreciate that...trust me," I came back with my cup of coffee and she was still on the call "...at least I won't be bored any more. No, this house now looks like a mortuary, so please come." She ended her call to turn, but she was startled to see me holding a cup of coffee behind her, "Are we expecting anyone?" I asked, sipping my hot coffee. " Next time you eardrops on someone make sure you don't startle them" she warned going into the bathroom and turned on the shower. I quickly dropped my coffee and joined her, I can warn it later. I removed my pinjamas and walked into the bathroom. She was backing the door, so I tapped her shoulder and she was startled again"hey.." I say. She wiped her face and looked mad "Is that your new thing now?" "new what?" I said circling her waist with my hands, "startling people" she said pacing her face. "I'm sorry about that" I apologised and moved my hand from her waist to her back now I'm cupping her face with my hands. I leaned to kiss her but she pushed me off, "stop" she said. I wrapped my hands around her neck and leaned in to kiss her neck but she still refused and pushed me hard, I hit my back against the wall, well that was a bit painful, "what the f**k" I cursed groaning. "learn to know when you're not needed" she said "what?" I was mad and curious to know what she meant "Blanca, when I'm not needed you said?" she ignored me and continued bathing, I watched her as she finished her bath and left me there dried. I bathed and came out with my towel wrapped around my body. I laid down on the bed facing the ceiling, don't really know what I did wrong but I was a mess so I don't know what to think. Few minutes later I heard people laughing obviously one person is Blanca but the other sounded familiar. I wore my clothes and headed to my private sitting room. Behold, she is having a good thing with my brother, my very close enemy. "what are you doing here?" I asked snippy standing akimbo, " Gosh, little sis I'm in my home or am I nolonger welcome in my own house?" his tone was dismissive and irritated." "need I remind you that this is my room and yes you are not welcome here without my invitation?" "okay my man" he said standing up and placing his hand on his chest, "I Michael Whiteman seek invitation to be here my dear sister" "what are you doing here Michael?" I asked again. "Okay, your fiance was bored, yeah you bored her not me so she asked for attention and as good person and good brother I am I offered. Sorry but not sorry, you're not a man...there are things men do that you can't so she asked for my help...will you help if you were in my situation?" he said smiling stupidly. I looked at Blanca and grimaced, "did you invite my brother here to provoke me or to prove a point?" I was disgusted. I turned to my brother, "now you little patronizing little squirt, get the hell out of my room and never you get close to my fiance again or you can follow him as well since I bore you" I say the last part looking at my fiance and she squinted at him. I left them there and zoomed into my room. Angrilly, I slept off. I woke up early and bath and went to the hospital, "mmm bad morning" Mandy observed. "Bad night and Morning" I corrected, "Okay wanna talk about it?" she said adjusting Blair who she just dressed afresh, "she's very beautiful even in sleep" I complimented ignoring her. "yeah, she was born beautiful, she is a natural" Mandy modified and I smirked and went closer to caress Blair's face. I bend down to kiss her on her forehead, kind of my routine now ,"good morning beautiful" I greeted, "can we eat am hungry" I said referring to Mandy, "mmm" she noded. I set the table and we ate. One thing I like about Mandy is you can never get bored with her even while eating and the fact that she doesn't pressed me to talk. We chatted as we eat and she told me about our exam starting on monday. "I had no idea exam is around the corner already" I input. "exam is starting on monday and we have morning paper and the timetables are out" she said. "no problem, we'll tackle that too" I replied. "How are you gonna get the exam timetable? do I give you mine to copy or..." "no, they will upload it on the school page and send us email too" I said "oh, that's good. Ah... tomorrow is Saturday and this weekend, I don't expect you be here, You have Saturday and Sunday and that is two days off...come back on Monda " she instructed. "Mum, so we've started rationalizing our weekends..huh...when did that start?" I asked. "Today" she said, "okay, so I have two days off right?" "Saturday and Sunday" "So I have two days off and you.." "I'll stay here with her for the two days, then Monday, I'll go back to school while you stay back" she reminded . We finished eating and chit chatt more and laugh more. When night came we had our dinner and Mandy sent me home. She was a good company. She choosed not to asked me stuff I don't wanna talk about. I left the hospital a happy somebody and reached home early. I took my bath and went straight to bed "Happy weekend to me" I said and slept off.
