Axe
Axe Axe opened her eyes. She lay on her back in her room on the eighth floor of the pack house. She stared up at the ceiling fan as the insistent knocking that had roused her from sleep began again louder this time. “Luna! Alpha Hunter needs you down in his office right away,” a voice called from the other side of the door She sat up and in a throaty irritated growl she called “Tell him I’ll be down directly,” When she heard the sound their footsteps departing she pushed herself to her feet and hit the light switch, instantly being the room in soft light that fileted through her two lamps with stained glass shades over the bulbs. She dressed quickly pulling on her customary dark washed jeans and black long sleeved shirt. Stepping out into the hall, and pulling her for closed after her as she did up the last few buttons. She walked barefoot but she made no sound as she moved. Her years of training having made her like a shadow. Two floors down in the elevator second door on the right was the Alpha’s office. She stepped in without knocking and the man behind the desk looked up from the file he was reading smiling as he did so. “Well good morning sleeping beauty. You got in late last night. Do I need to even ask how the job went?” The Man or rather her chosen Mate Hunter asked. Hunter was the Alpha of their pack. Known as the Warborn Pack. A truly ancient pack of Wolves said to be born and bred to fight. These days in this modern Era if you were an Ethereal and needed security… Chances are you hired the Warborn. Worth every penny they had a well earned reputation. Hunter himself was a notable Warrior as had been his father the Alpha before him. She bent over the desk and dropped a kiss on his forehead. Before dropping into a chair across the desk from him. “It went perfect as usual,” Hunter Hunter looked up as she entered. Alexandria was still as stunning as ever. She was tall at, or just over six feet in height. With mile long legs and with voluptuous curves in all the right places. And a washboard stomach to rival even his chiseled abs she was truly a sight to be hold. Her long hair was loose about her and was the color or bone white snow. Her Amber colored eyes had polished coper flecks in them and seemed at times to glow in her light tawny complexion. His chosen Mate of five really good years. He smiled when she bent to kiss him. At her response he snorted a laugh and then sobered sitting up straighter in his seat. “Well buckle up the beautiful because you got another one, and this one is a doozy,” He tossed the file onto the desk before her. She raised and eyebrow at him “Quick on the trigger aren’t they?” I usually get some time off after a job like that,” She said cooking her head at the file as it landed before her. “The Lycan Court, to the Elder Council, the council to me , and me to you. Say they need this done ASAP baby doll,” He said with a shrug “Lycan Courier showed up with that file first thing this morning. Said it was for my eyes, and your eyes and not another souls,” His smile faded he held up a finger “The Elders said finish this off and your done,” Her gaze lifted to his. “Who is it,” He shrugged “I can tell you what he was. Former Spec Ops. Then a Black Op Merc for about a dozen different countries. Man is a killer,” He pointed to the file “ninety percent of that thing is redacted. I got a picture and a name,” Axe She watched as he reached out and flipped open the file and lifted a picture holding it out to her. She took it looking at it. It was a color picture of a man in combat fatigues. The picture was apparently taken in a desert from the background. He wore a coyote brown shemagh with black jolly Roger’s on it and a pair of Oakley sunglasses. He had crew cut hair as black as a Raven. He was clean shaven and a little smile tugged at his mouth. “The Name is Rell,” Rell He sat back in the chair his feet resting on the hand rail. His wide brimmed flat crowned hat pulled down over his eyes his silver framed Randolph aviator sunglasses on the side table beside him. He wore simple dark jeans with a black long sleeved Henley, under his black three quarter sheepskin coat. His eyes shot open underneath his hat as he heard the rumble of the big car as it pulled up in front of the house. He cracked a smile and closed his eyes again. He heard the door open and shut and then a few moments later heard the creak as someone sat in the old rocking chair next to him. “Your mother sends her love,” The voice a rich Scotsman’s brogue said next to him. His reply was slightly muffled. “I know she called and said you’d be coming with a file and to drop off the car,” The Scotsman chuckled “Aye I figured she might,” there was a hesitation followed by “The Council has hired the Warborn to catch you,” He barked a laugh “Really now pulled out all of the stops have the now? This should certainly prove interesting then,” The Scotsman hesitated yet again before he spoke quickly “Rell would it not be better to just call your da? Surely he could sort this out in no time could he not,” He lifted a single finger and pushed his hat back turning to fix his cold gaze on he Scotsman. “You would be correct in your assumption Landon however, Mother wouldn’t have it. Whatever happened between them she won’t allow him back,” He cut his gaze from Landon back out over the tree line. “She doesn’t want me to be like him,” He said soflty. Landon smiled and rose he stepped off the porch and started for the wood line. “I’ll be at your penthouse. Call if you need anything,” He called over his shoulder as he disappeared into the woods. Rell grinned as he pulled his hat back down he could sleep another hour before he had to get moving. Axe She sat at her desk in her own office just own the Hall from Hunter's pouring over every scrap of information and partial detail I could find in this file. Rell Silverhand was a killer. From all she could read he was one of the best. Just as Hunter had said he had been Special Operations in Military before several Intelligence Agencies got their hands on him. Then on to Private Black Operations for at least a dozen different countries. And this was just on the human side of things. On the Ethereal side of things. No one knew if he was Werewolf, Sorcerer, Vampire, Demon, Angel, Far, or any of the other Ethereal creatures. He was a complete mystery. The last few years when he wasn’t off some where doing freelance Merc work for a Vampire Coven or a Nearby Wolf Pack. He had up until six months ago been working as a Free Lance Courier and Fixer for the Elder Council. His whereabouts currently were unknown. There was a knock at her door and it opened and a curly redhead stuck around the barely open door. “Good evening boss lady,” The Man said as she gave him a thumbs up and motioned him into the room. He dropped into the chair opposite her and grinned. He was as tall as her but heavily muscled. With curly ginger hair and pale green eyes. Dimitri Valon was the Pack Beta and the best Warrior we had. Alexandria had personally see him take on multiple Elder Demon and even an Ancient Vampire and come out on top. “Boss Lady the Alpha says you are putting a team together for a job,” Axe chuckled “Yeah and what if I am?” Dimitri grinned “I want in. Word around the pack house is that you’ve picked the cream of the crop,” She barked a laugh “No one gossips in this house try again,” One of her eyebrows c****d up expectantly He got a sheepish look on his face and rubbed the back of his neck. “Aw hell boss lady you got me,” he chuckled nervously averting his eyes quickly. She lifted the other eyebrow “Spit it out Dimitri what did he tell you for real,” He seemed to deflate in his chair before her very eyes before answering “Hunter said you needed the top guys. That this last job was it. That your situation with the elders was done,” Alex sighed heavily and she too seems to deflate in her seat. Hunter was worried as usual. Nothing new at all. Alexandria wasn’t a Wolf. She was half Ancient Sidhe Fae and Half Were Dragon. By the laws that governed Wolves she couldn’t serve as Luna to the pack unless she was Hunter’s Destined Mate given to him by the Moon Goddess. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case. Hunter and her had an arranged marriage by her parents to strengthen the bond between her family of Fae and the Warborn Pack. The Elder Council had agreed under the condition that she would serve as one of their envoy and investigators for 15 years. Only the Council, her family Hunter, and Dimitri had been told of the secret agreement. Alexandria sighed “Yeah but something isn’t right,” Dimitri held up his hands “What is bothering you. This is your chance to be free of them. To live as a Luna should,” She lifted the file “Ten years early. They will let me off ten years early. If I catch this guy and bring him in,” She shook her head “I don’t buy it. There is something about this guy we are missing. I mean his file is redacted to the point of it just being useless. All we know is that he has been a professional killer for the better part of his life. Which we don’t even know how old he is. If he is Wolf, Fae, Vampire, or anything else. He is a complete unknown. Usually we have more information than this,” Dimitri shrugged “So we don’t have a lot to go on. We’ve dealt with that issue before a few years back,” She nodded at his response. “You’re absolutely correct however, they have never sent us anyone like this before. Those past jobs were just fugitives or investigations and we had to find the person. They know this guy. They know him well. All that we do know points to this guy being a really bad man,” Dimitri shrugged again, but this time his face split in a while grin. “Then we take him down hard boss lady,” She laughed and nodded. “You’re on. Now let’s go hunting,” There came a knock at her office door and they both stopped as a voice spoke. “Luna Alexandria. Alpha Hunter requests you in his office. There is an emissary from the Fae,”
