Brielle's P.O.V "So, you are back?" Micheal's cold voice echoed coldly he seemed angry, he was always angry and yet I had harbored that crush on him, it was something that refused to die, even when I tried to ignore it. I disregarded the strange nervousness and stalked towards him as confidently as I could, I got to him, since he was a tall person, I was barely reaching his shoulder. "My father talked to you so I guess there is no need to beat around the bush. " he raised an eyebrow, in a challenging manner. Micheal's well-sculptured face wrinkles up in disgust, oh God he was so good looking. Better looking than those playboys l've met. "Hey, what are you waiting for?" | asked but Micheal simply ignored me, just like he had always done and continued to clean up the stall. "Hello..." I called again, after probably an hour of waiting there, my legs had begun to hurt, and Micheal was just effortlessly ignoring me. "So, you finally learned how to start a conversation?" without waiting for my reply, he cut me short. "What brings you here, princess?" "My name is Brielle, don't princess me." The room went silent again as Micheal was back to ignoring me, and somehow his actions made tears pooled in my eyes, this is basically what my life is about, everyone neglects and ignore me because l am insignificant. "Why won't you talk to me?" I asked as I wiped the tears from the corner of my eyes. "What did I ever do so wrong that you keep treating me like I don't exist?" "You should do something about your attitude and then we will talk." He said matter-of-factly, arranging dried hay in the cleared stall. The new horse began snorting as Micheal tried to take it to the new shed, even though Micheal was being rude with me; he was so soft when he was handling his horses. It was as if there was some sort of connection between them. I watched in admiration and wished I was the horse, what it would feel like for Micheal to pet my hair. "Micheal!" It was Mr. Filippo, Micheal's father, the old man was standing at the entrance of the stables, his eyebrows were tightened and he seems to be deeply worried about something. "Stay right here and don't touch anything." He warned through clenched teeth and walked past me they began talking in the distance and eventually, they both strolled off to "God knows where" After minutes that seemed like hours of waiting, I decided to stalk closer to the horse and peered into the stall. It can't be that hard, I had seen Micheal handle the horse, it shouldn't be difficult to do the same thing and oh, how wrong I was. I didn't know why but it was probably because I was pulling on the horse mane, trying to get on it but instantly it went wild. It stood up, kicking the air with its fore legs and I screamed in fear, falling to the ground. "Brielle!" That was Micheal's voice, he shouts as he ran into the stable, even though he came in, it didn't stop the rampaging horse; I was ducking, both of my arms were protectively wrapped around my head. The horse was neighing wildly, the magnificent beast stood on its' hind legs and it kicked the air with the fore ones, Micheal seemed was confused at first; it was just now I realized why he told me the horse isn't ready yet. "Maximus!" He called as he approached it slowly, the deep guttural noises that came from it had reduced and it was calming down, Micheal grabbed the reins and rubbed on the length of its neck in a very soothing manner and it calmed totally and luckily for us, Maximus or so had stopped neighing and relaxed underneath Micheal's touch. "Are you being childish or you're just stupid?" He thundered and I froze up, no one had ever raised their voices at me nor dared to scold me, even though the horse is already transferred back into the stall I couldn't stop myself from trembling. I struggled to get up from the floor, and Micheal did not attempt to help me up, he simply glared down at me, like I was nothing. "I specifically told you not to go near the horse; do you have any idea how bad this could have turned out? Or did you think that horse is one of your toys??" He glared down at me, and poked at my forehead, I felt bullied. "That horse could have given you a very hard butt, critical enough to send you to your grave!" The intensity of his voice increased with every word. "Did you know that? Even if you did, why should you care. about your life or even about your job? You're too arrogant to do something that tactful. If you want to die, could you please go somewhere else?" He suddenly stopped when he noticed that I had already started crying. I got up and turned on her heels, l ran away from the stables in tears, Micheal was just too much, and how could he say something so cruel? I decided that I would never go see him again; he clearly can't stand me, so there was no need to bother him, why do I keep forcing myself to go see someone who doesn't want to see me? Why do I even like someone who doesn't like me at all? I locked myself in my room all day, trying to convince myself about how much I hated Micheal Lee but each time I just find myself being drawn back to him; it's an emotion I can't explain. Now, that I think about it, I was so lucky he was nearby, or the horse would probably have killed me, l didn't even thank him for saving my life. I opened the window of my bedroom and realized that night has fallen fast; I spotted Micheal walking in the garden, this was the perfect opportunity to apologize to Micheal and then probably thank him. I changed my dress into something more comfortable and a bit revealing, I was going there to seduce, I pulled down on my shirt revealing my breasts, I went downstairs to the kitchen and take out the cake in the fridge, it would be nice if I gave him some sweet too, he had been working too hard. I stepped outside the windy garden and, the wind took my brown hair in its embrace, blowing it everywhere possible. The moon was full and it hung brightly among the stars that dominated the sky, the gentle breeze made the leave around me rustle softly, the noise blending in the eeriness of the evening. He jolts as if he felt my presence, his eyes narrowed coldly as soon as he laid them on me, and then they trailed down to my body, because I was wearing a disturbing gown; but he looked away from me almost immediately. "There you are, I fear you might have left." I said with a small smile, also pretending as if I didn't notice he was checking me out and without asking him, I sat down beside him, placing the cake plate on my laps, purposely drawing his attention to my legs. Micheal didn't even glance at me once. "Why are you looking for me so late at night, when you should be sleeping?" He asked. "You are just three years older than I am but every time you tell you sound like my dad, why do you act like an old man?" He rolled his eyes at my remark and then proceeded to ignore me again! "I couldn't sleep." I lied with a sad pout, hoping I could at least gain some attention. "If you can't sleep, you should be in your room, don't you think? Didn't anyone tell you not to be around boys alone? It's quite dangerous." He advised. "Will you hurt me?" I asked curiously but as usual | was ignored again; silence fell upon us and I cleared my throat. "I wanted to apologize for my behavior earlier, you were right, I'm indeed stupid." I started with a small smile of my own, he shifts slightly he seemed to be surprised by my apology. "Thank you for saving me." I passed the plate that was containing the cake to him, but he didn't reach out to receive it. " Please accept my gift," he just stared at it, and remained unmoving and unflinching. "I don't eat sweet things." He said sternly, my gaze falls to the cake and whatever hope that I had before coming here had shattered. "Then at least take it and give it to Mr. Filippo instead." I persisted but Micheal wasn't having àny of it. "No, thank you. I didn't step in to help you because I wanted you to feel indebted to me and bake me a cake. It was my job and I was simply doing it, you should go back inside." He said to me sternly again. I withdrew my hands, tears blurring my vision. "You're so cruel! Is it so hard to appreciate a gift from me?" Micheal got up immediately and began to stroll off towards his quarter ignoring whatever thing she had to say. "I came here with the intention to confess to you, Hike you, what am I supposed to do when | like you so much?" I stumble after him confessing my feelings and he stopped abruptly and turned back slightly, somewhat surprised. "I'll pretend I didn't hear that, I would like to keep working with your family for some times so please don't make it awkward for me." He warned with his back to me, the tear that she had been holding fell into the plate of cake in her hands, and she watched Micheal head inside. At least if you're going to reject me, face me, look into my eyes and do it.
