"Miaaaa!!!" Melissa screamed my name in so much excitement knocking me off my delusions. She slipped to where I was and gave me a very big and tight hug while smiling "Who is he!! Please start talking" Melissa is my best friend and we both met in college she's more medicine inclined than arts she's a very supportive friend and she's very bubbly too. She grabbed my purse from my hand and wrapped her hands round my shoulders as we both walked into our home that night. "Tell me how did you guys meet!" She screeched. "Relax! I'll tell you" I had my chin up because it felt good, the way she begged me for this information. "Please please please!!!" "Okay fine! I met him at the auction" "Just this night?" "Yeap, actually something happened. He saved me" softly, plus he was the highest bidder on my artwork, you know I was best selling right? It's all thanks to him". "Awwwn!! Oh my gosh! He's so so handsome! Damn! Did you see his car?" "I was in it! Literally " we both laughed. "I'm so happy for you, finally you can start dating again! It's all I've ever wanted! I'm sick of this your whole independent woman saga". "Relax we aren't dating, it's just dinner" I shrugged my shoulder. "Just dinner? So you think it's just dinner? Did it seems like just dinner?, I don't think so, no man who's not interested in you would casually take you out to dinner". A voice inside my heart agreed with Melissa, I just didn't want to jump into conclusions. I fell for him the moment I set my eyes on him but I didn't want to be too quick to jump into conclusions. "Anyways it's fine whatever" she shrugged her shoulders and walked upstairs. I chuckled and followed her behind. I got up early that morning to get ready for work, I quickly picked out the outfit of the day a free shiffon shirt and black free shiffon trousers to match with it. I changed into my bathing towel and hoped into the bathroom when I was done bathing and everything I changed into my outfit and went straight to the kitchen to prepare coffee and breakfast. Melissa came down to where I was she looked like she just woke up from sleep. "Good morning mia!" While rubbing her eyes. "Hey, no work today?" I asked while frying the eggs and bacon. "I have work but not untill this evening __" **DING DONG** The sound of the doorbell cut her short, who could that be at this early hour. "Hang on, I'll get it" Melissa walked over to the front door to see who it was "Err... Mia?!" I turned off the stove and rushed I've to see who was there and why Melissa was calling me. It was a man in a dark blue t-shirt wearing a face cap and cackys with a large bouquet of roses in his hand. Starring into the paper he had in his hand he read "for Miss Mia ?" In a depressing voice. He handed it over to me I collected it and sniffed it gently. "Please ma'am sign here and here pointing on the lower part of the books. I quickly dropped signed the paper. "thank you and have a great day". "Thank you! With a big smile on my face. Melissa shut the door and walked behind me "who is it from?!" She peeped over my shoulder to see. I walked slowly from the door as I read the little note that was attached to the flower. "Love from Alex, your friend from last night". I was already smiling and blushing so hard I couldn't hold in her joy. "Who's that from?" Melissa asked. "You know who! Alex of course! He sent me flowers on this beautiful morning. Today is going to be a great day I'm sure." I'm so excited. "Oh Mia!!. See? It wasn't just a date! I told you! Mmm Alex is such a gentleman geez! You deserve a man who will treat you right. Melissa helped me place the the flowers in order while I hurriedly got dressed and left for the office. "Mel! I'll see you later okay?" I yelled. "Yeah sure!" My cab was already waiting for me outside, I rushed in and got comfortable while the driver drove me to my studio. I got a call from an unknown caller "hmm strange ". I plugged in my earbuds and answered the call "Hello?!, Mia Greene speaking, how may I help you?" "Morning mia, it's Alex from last night." I immediately recognized his smooth baritone. "Hi Alex! How are you?" With a big smile on my face. "Owh I'm well mia. I hope your received the flowers I sent?" "Yes i did. They were lovely and they smelled really really nice. And I love roses". "I'm glad you loved them. Beautiful roses for a beautiful lady like you". This statement put a very big smile on my face. Alex had a very sweet tongue and usually always rains compliments on me. All these qualities made mia love him even more. "So I would love to see you today. Is that okay?." He asked demanding for a visit or a meetup atleast. "Mm yeah it's a perfect opportunity for you to come to my art gallery I'll send you the address okay?" "Okay then I'll see you later" The bustling streets of LA was alive with the sounds of car horns and people rushing to and fro. But inside the art gallery it was serene, it was a completely different world, adorned with beautiful paintings and sculptures, and the air was filled with a sense of calm and tranquility. As I put the finishing touches on my latest masterpiece, the door to the gallery opened, and in walked in was the man of my dreams with a confident stride. He looked around the gallery, taking in the stunning artwork on display, and his eyes finally rested on me. I couldn't help but feel a flutter in my stomach as our eyes met. I quickly composed myself and greeted him with a warm smile. "Welcome to my gallery,"I said, gesturing to the artwork around them. "It's even more beautiful than I imagined," he replied, his stare never leaving mine. We struck up a conversation, and i found myself drawn to his intelligence and charisma. He was genuinely interested in my art, asking me about my process and inspiration. I couldn't believe how easy it was to talk to him, and before I knew it, we had been talking for hours. As the day slowly came to an end, I offered to show him some of my personal pieces in the back room of the studio. As we walked through the dimly lit hallway, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nervousness. I had never shown these pieces to anyone before, but I trusted him. Alex had awe written all over his face as he gazed at the intimate and emotionally charged pieces. He was impressed by the pieces. "Your raw talent and passion is written over all of these. They are so beautiful" "Thank you" Our eyes met again, and in that moment, I'm sure he felt what I was feeling we both knew that we had found something special in each other. Without a word, he reached out and took my hand, and we stood there in silence, letting the artwork speak for itself. As the night came to an end, and most of the workers had left, if it was just both of us left in the gallery. He waited for me to lock up and we both walked out of the gallery. "Thank you so much for sharing your art with me, I would really really love to visit here from time to time". "You're always welcome here anytime and anyday at all" with a gentle smile on my face. He leaned in closer to me, cupping my cheeks with his hands, he gave me a kiss on the forehead. Leaving my heart racing and my mind buzzing with excitement.
