THE THOUGHT OF BECOMING my mother’s puppet has always been in my mind already since I was young. However, the right term to call her ways of molding me into the person I am today and how she teaches me wasn’t in my vocabulary yet—not until I reached the stage where I managed to understand a single word. Yet, hearing that word and knowing what it meant first was confusing for me.
