I STARED INTO THE METAL DOOR of the elevators as thoughts disrupted me at my finest. I wasn’t sure if what I had done was the right thing I should do. But considering the situation, I couldn’t keep someone who was sincere in his feelings to keep waiting and hoping that it would be reciprocated. I couldn’t be more cruel than I already am towards Matthew. It wasn’t just settling the private matters between us, because I know it wouldn’t be settled unless that arrangement is completely canceled. It was rather helping him close a door that might end up hurting him than he thought if it remained open. Having me the one to be stuck in an unclear situation with someone I am unsure of what he truly feels is already enough. I couldn’t do the same to the man who has been purely sincere towards me.
