2107 Words
After greeting Alpha Holden Silverlight Owen, watched as he went to open the door for the female passenger that had come with him as soon as the door opened the sweet scent of raspberries and brown sugar hit him. It was the most wonderful thing he had ever smelled before. His wolf Zeus was salivating inside Owen's head. "Mate! She's here our Mate is here!" As his mate got out of the car. Owen got a better view. She had wavy raven hair and the most stunning honey colored eyes. Lisbeth's eyes widened when she met eyes with one of the Moonstone Pack's warriors. The woodsy smell of sandalwood and cypress had drifted to her when the door had opened. Her wolf had been telling her that their mate was here. But Lisbeth never imagined he would be standing in front of her. A gasp left her lips as she took in the warrior in front of her wavy dark brown hair spilled across the top of his head and he had the most beautiful green eyes she had ever seen. "Mate!" Lisbeth moved around her cousin so she could take a step toward her mate. Holden decided this would be the time to introduce them both. "Owen, this is Luna Lisbeth Howl of the Moonlight River Pack in Howlville, Colorado, she is also my cousin." Holden said introducing Owen to Lisbeth. He then spoke to his cousin. "Lisbeth this is Owen Clark he is the son of the late Duke Clark of the Truthstone Pack. Owen and his family are the only survivors of the m******e in Truthstone Valley. They have been a part of the Moonstone Pack for sometime now." Holden said to his cousin. Lisbeth suddenly turned toward Holden and smiled. "Holden, I found my mate." She gushed at me. "You've got a good one there. He'll stand by you always. Congratulations to the both of you. I'll let the two of you to get to know one another." They both smiled at Holden as he excused himself inside the pack house to go find how his father was fairing. Heading to his father's office, he knocked on the door and waited for his father to answer. However it was his mother's voice that answered. "Come in." She was sitting at his father's desk, her brown hair was braided down her back. Ethan was sitting beside her going through papers. Luna Lara looked up as Holden entered. Her hazel colored eyes smiled as she took in her son. "Holden sweetheart, you're finally home!" Luna Lara exclaimed as she made her way around the desk to hug Holden. "I've missed you. Where is Lisbeth I thought she was coming with you." Luna Lara said looking behind him. Rubbing the back of his head. Holden replied to her question. "She's with her destined mate right now. Turns out her mate is one of our warriors Owen Clark. He and a few other warriors greeted us in front of the pack house when we arrived. I'm sure they are in Lisbeth's guest room right now." Holden said to his mother. "Oh that's wonderful. Lisa and Rich will be over the moon." Luna Lara said as she smiled Luna Lara noticed the look on her son's face as he glanced around the office. Holden then choose to mind link his mother. 'How come father isn't here?' Holden asked his mother. 'He is resting his injuries from the rouge attack are slow healing. It's why you are becoming Alpha. Remaining strong in front of everyone tires him quickly.' Luna Lara confessed to her son. Holden then nodded to his mother. He then greeted his best friend and Beta. "Ethan, it is good to see you my friend. You've been well I hope, your family too?" Holden asked as he gripped Ethan's forearm before pulling him into a hug. Ethan grinned at him as he brushed a few strands of his blonde hair out of his face. "My boys keep me on my toes that's for sure. I've been well so has Wren other then when she needs my mother or my sisters to help with the boys. So she can rest, as she is expecting our third pup child." Holden's eyes widened at hearing the news "Congratulations, to you, Wren and the boys. I'mq thrilled for you." Holden said to his best friend before turning his attention back to his mother. "So how much planning is left on The Alpha Ceremony?" Holden asked his Luna mother. "Well, there are only a few things left to decide. You and Ethan need to decide on two warriors that you trust to be second Betas to flank the two of you. They will support and guard the both of you. Ethan had suggested Owen as one. Now that he is mated to Lisbeth. He and his family will be moving to Colorado to be with Lisbeth's pack. Then there is picking the main dish for the feast afterwards. Along with whether you want mead or wine served at dinner." Luna Lara said as she read what was left. Holden gave what his mother had said some thought. "If they are all ready put the warrior files on my desk. Placing the ones you and Ethan were considering on the left of all the others. As for the main dish, there should be three. We will do a whole hog roast, venison and beef brisket. We will offer a honey mead which is customary. But also have red and white wine available if the guest were to ask." Holden replied before he kissed his mother on her cheek. "I'm going to go check on father. If he is still asleep I promise not to wake him." Holden said excusing himself from his father's office. Leaving the first floor, Holden makes his way up the stairs to the second floor to his parents room. After waiting a moment Holden knocked on his parents door. It wasn't long before his father answered him. "You may enter Holden, my son" Came Alpha Ripley's deep voice telling him to come inside. Holden took a breath before entering. He had no way of truly knowing the physical state that his father was going to be in. "Alpha." Holden said politely as he bowed his head to his father out of respect. His father nodded to him in return. " It's good to see you. I have missed you, son. I take that your time with your Aunt and Uncle at the Moonlight River Pack, has been helpful?" Alpha Ripley asked his son. Holden nodded his head in return. "Yes, It has been very helpful I have learned a lot." He said before turning his attention to his bed ridden father. "Mother says that one of your wounds is not healing well. May I have a look at it, Alpha." Holden replied in a respectful tone. "I suppose but what do you think you will be able to do for it that the doctors can't. Holden's father questioned as his son came over to his father's right side of the bed. His eyes widened as his son started to slowly peeled the bandage away from from his wound on his abdomen. A white light shone from Holden's hands as has he held them over his Alpha father's wound. Alpha Ripley gasped as he watched his son's actions. "Impossible, it can't be." Alpha Ripley mumble as he continued to watch his son. Holden just smiled as he looked up at his father. "Your Aunt Lisa unlocked this from inside you?" Ripley asked his son. Holden shook his head as he answered. "No, father according to Lisbeth and Aunt Lisa it was already unlocked. I just didn't know it. It has been centuries since an Alpha in our line as had this ability." Holden explained. "That's correct, it is usually only a female in a alpha line usually develops an ability for healing. Your Aunt Lisa was the one in her family, your cousin Lisabeth as well. Your mother and I thought your sister would develop the ability, but she never did. It would seem that it was because it had already been given to you." Alpha Ripley's brown eyes never left his son. When Holden removed his hands from the wound on his father's abdomen. It was no longer red and angry, the skin along the edges were pink and the size of the gash had shrunk. "There it should heal on its own now. You shouldn't be in the pain you were before either." Holden said as he slowly moved to the end of the bed to grip the bedpost. "Holden, are you going to be alright?" Alpha Ripley asked his son in concern. Holden smiled at his father as he tried to reassure him. "I'll be fine. I just need some food and some rest. Just so you know mother and Ethan don't know of my ability yet. I haven't talked to Kayley in over a month so she doesn't know either." Just as Holden made it to the door his father stopped him. "Get some food and some rest son then you need to tell them about your ability." Alpha Ripley said to his son. WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW There were still quite a few things that needed to be done, before The Alpha Ceremony and tomorrow was the last day to prepare. Making his way down stairs, Holden grabbed a couple of the pre-made sandwiches from the fridge. Food in hand he trudged back up the stairs to his room to take a shower. After showering he got himself a drink from the faucet. Toweling himself dry, Holden slipped into a pair of silk boxers before passing out on his king size bed. Falling into a dreamless sleep. The first thing to reach his senses was the wonderful smell of food. Holden, then realized that someone had covered him up in the middle of the night. He then heard a firm knock on his bedroom door. "Raise and shine sleeping beauty!" Came Beta Ethan's playful tone as he entered the room. Carrying a tray full of breakfast foods. While his mother was carrying a tray full of pasta salads and burgers. Holden raised an eye brow at the trays of food. "What's all this?" Holden questioned his best friend. "Well, you missed breakfast, bro. Your mom was getting you some lunch. But Alpha Ripley told us to take both to you. He said you needed to talk to us." Beta Ethan said looking at Luna Lara before looking at Holden as he tore into the bacon and mushroom omelette on one of the breakfast plates. Before moving to the pancakes and sausage links. "I do need to tell you both something. I didn't mean to oversleep. I'm just trying to think of where to start." Holden said taking a drink of coffee, before grabbing a burger from the tray his mother had brought up. "You, found you mate didn't you!" Holden's Mother gushed as she looked at her son. Holden shook his head. "No, I haven't found her yet." Holden said after he swallowed a bite. "Why didn't you wake me up sooner, Ethan? You know I have all those warrior files to go through." Holden questioned his friend, before Ethan could answer. Alpha Ripley spoke from the doorway. "I told him not to, you had a busy day yesterday and you needed to rest. Perhaps, I can help you find the words your looking for." Alpha Ripley said as he started to lift up his shirt to reveal his wound. Luna Lara gasped as she looked at the wound. "Ripley, you're healing, but how is this possible?" "Our son, made it possible." Alpha Ripley said as he smiled at Holden. Luna Lara's hazel eyes widened as she turned to look at her son. "That's why your father insisted that we let you sleep and all the food he requested be brought to you. Healing takes a lot of energy, if you weren't about to become Alpha I doubt you'd be awake right now." Holden's Mother said before kissing his cheek and taking the empty breakfast tray. "You rest and do whatever you need to do. I'm very aware of how much energy healing can take out of you. I just never thought I'd ever be blessed to have a child blessed with the same gift as my sister." Luna Lara said walking to the door where her husband was standing. "Come Dear, lets let Holden rest. You to Ethan." Luna Lara said to her mate and acting Beta.
