Chapter 9: Home

Holden I couldn't believe that my father had waited so long to tell me about the recent rogue attacks I had just been told about them a few weeks ago. The Alpha had informed me that my Ceremony of the Alpha would be in two days. I was throwing things into my suitcases, when there was a knock at my door. When I didn't respond my Aunt Lisa came through the door. "I know you're angry at your father try not to be. He only sent you here because he thought he was doing the right thing for you." She said in a firm yet gently tone. In my frustration, I slammed my fist into the bed stand cracking the top. "If I had been there I could have helped. Then he wouldn't haven't gotten hurt, him or Beta Cliff." I said through gritted teeth. "Your Uncle and I have talked to both of your parents. Beta Cliff was injured protecting his son, who will be your Beta. Because of that Beta Cliff's son has had to take over for him. Your father wants you to be happy but he wants you to be an even better Alpha then he is. So he pushes you. Maybe a little harder then he should." My Aunt Lisa said to me. She walked over and sat down on the bed. Taking ahold of one of my hands. "You will do great things for the Moonstone Pack. Your father will heal in time. There are only four of us that know how bad your father's wounds are. Your Mother, me, you and your sister." She said to me with confidence. I then noticed her looking around the room. "I see your leaving soon. Make sure you say goodbye to the young ones before you go. You made an impression on them these last few years. Oh and Lisbeth wants to go back home with you. As the future Luna of the Moonlight River Pack and our only heir. She is hoping to find her mate while she is attending The Alpha Ceremony in our stead." I looked up at my Aunt and gave her a soft smile. "Of course, mother and Kayley will be over joyed to see her." I then walked over and kissed my Aunt on the forehead. "Thank you for everything you and Uncle Rich have done and taught me." I said to her smiling. "Any thing for my nephew, you will be the only Alpha to have the healing abilities I taught you. When Lisbeth suggested I teach you to help you focus. I wasn't sure it would work but you impressed me. You will be a strong leader, a fierce warrior and a passionate healer. Your mate will be someone extraordinary." She finished as her light brown eyes smiled at me. "Aunt Lisa, I'm twenty-four years old. I have yet to find my mate. With this hidden healing gift you found inside me. Maybe the Moon Goddess didn't give me a mate." I said with a sigh, my shoulders slumped a little. I was surprised when my Aunt Lisa took hold of my chin and gave me a hard stare. Her eyes glowed a golden brown as her wolf Claire stepped forward for a moment. "You will find your mate. She just wasn't ready when you were. You will be gentle with her and she will be the strongest wolf we have seen." She said firmly. Not wanting to get her started on whatever vision she had, had I just nodded my head. "Ok, Aunt Lisa I will find my mate when the time is right." I said as I zipped up my last suitcase. There was then a hard knock at the door. I smiled as Uncle Rich and Lisbeth poked their heads inside. "Oh good we didn't miss you." My Uncle and Alpha to the Moonlight River Pack said coming inside. I saw the suitcase that Lisbeth had clutched in front of her. Clearing my throat I spoke. "If Lisbeth is ready then we better get going. There are a few things I have to do to get ready myself." I gripped my Uncle's forearm and he mine as we shook hands goodbye. Aunt Lisa, wrapped me in a firm hug. "Don't be a stranger next time. Send my love to your mother for me. I miss her so much." She whispered in my ear. With her light brown eyes and hair she reminded me of my mother and how much I missed her. WWWWWWWWWWWW I was actually surprised when Lisbeth handed me plane tickets. I was very much aware of her fear of flying. "It will be faster if we fly." Lisbeth had bravely admitted It had indeed been faster to fly. Before we knew it. Our second plane was landing at Dulles International Airport. From there I rented a car, and headed back home, to Moonstone Hollow. I smiled as the gates to the Moonstone Pack came into view. I was finally home. As we pulled up to the pack house. Several pack warriors greeted us. As I got out of the parked car, all of them held a fist over their hearts. "Alpha." They said in unison. I noticed that Owen Clark was among the warriors that were there to greet me. They had come to Moonstone Pack after their pack had been massacred. Though his father had succumb to his injuries and passed. Owen had wanted to honor his Alpha father, by becoming one of our most trusted warriors. I was also aware that he was best friends with my sister, Kayley and Odessa NorthStar. I didn't miss the look of surprise on his face as I opened the passenger door to help my cousin Lisbeth out. Especially, when he whispered "Mate!" I heard Lisbeth gasp as her golden brown eyes turned up to meet Owen's green ones. The same words passed her lips as well. "Mate!" WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW I had hoped that Lisbeth would find the mate, that would become her Alpha this weekend. I had no idea she would find her destined mate minutes after arriving. Let alone that it would be a member of our pack. The other warriors placed their fist over their hearts and bowed as they went back to their original post. Pulling out my phone I called Taylor to assign another warrior to fill in for Owen. I smiled as the two started to walk towards each other. Deciding this would be the best time to introduce them. "Owen, this is Luna Lisbeth Howl of the Moonlight River Pack in Howlville, Colorado, she is also my cousin." I said introducing Owen to Lisbeth. "Lisbeth this is Owen Clark he is the son of the late Duke Clark of the Truthstone Pack. Owen and his family are the only survivors of the m******e in Truthstone Valley. They have been a part of the Moonstone Pack for sometime now." Lisbeth suddenly turned toward me and smiled. "Holden, I found my mate." She gushed at me. "You've got a good one there. He'll stand by you always. Congratulations to the both of you. I'll let the two of you to get to know one another." They both smiled at me as I excused myself inside the pack house to go find how my father was fairing.
