Chapter 3: More Then You Know

(A/N: Also this chapter does have a small part that has electro shock therapy, that is done to a minor without consent.)

Odessa

After my sleep over at Kayley's there was the meeting that Alpha Ripley and Luna Lara had with my parents.

"What do you mean Odessa says her wolf woke up and came forward when she turned eight that's impossible." Came the skeptical voice of my father.

"I've been reading into it and have found that it only happen one other time decades ago before our grandparents were born it happened to Helena Bradshaw, who ended up being mated to Alpha Othello Henry. It's extremely rare and has only happened twice once with Helena and now with Odessa." Luna Lara said to my parents.

Once the meeting was over my hell started for real.

It started with weekly visits with our main pack doctor Dr. Leon Harken, which consist of physicals and blood test after blood test. I was starting to feel like a pin cushion. On December twenty-third, two thousand and eighteen, was the day my mom gave birth to the twins, Lumi and Elsa NorthStar. It was the one week I had a break from my weekly doctor visits. I dealt with the weekly visits and blood test for over two and a half years.

Until, the year of my thirteen birthday, when some of the other pack doctors thought that Dr. Harken was going about treating me all wrong.

Having done this so many times now, I had finally talked them into letting me do it myself.

Only this time, it wasn't Dr. Harken that came through the door to see me but a different doctor I had never met before.

Dr. Collins, looked over two decades older then Dr. Harken with short grey hair, his skin was thin and pale. His bedside manner needed some work to.

"All right, Miss Northstar we are going to be doing things a little different today. Lay back on the bed, we are going to a different room today." He said as he unbraked, the bed and pushed it from the room.

"So, no blood test today? Shouldn't we talk to my parents?" I questioned, something just didn't feel right the hair on my neck was standing on end.

"No, no blood test we are doing different test today, like I said. You're parents will be informed soon." Dr. Collins replied curtly.

My worry increased when I looked around the room we were in. Nothing looked familiar to me. My fear increased as my arms and legs were strapped down. A piece of leather was placed between my teeth. I could already feel the tears running down my cheeks before he placed the head apparatus on and flipped the switch.

The first two volts hurt, but were bearable. The third had a scream ripping its way from my throat.

Cliff and Edith's eyes widened in surprise as Dr. Harken, walked over to them from the front door.

"Good Morning, Alpha, Holden, Mr. and Mrs. NorthStar what has you in here this morning. I didn't think Odessa's appointment was until this afternoon." He said in a curious tone.

Edith shook her head, no.

"Your office called this morning and said you had an opening and you wanted to see her early."

Dr. Harken, disagreed with Edith's words.

"My office didn't called you this morning."

The lights flickered in the waiting room, as a muffled scream pieced the air.

Alpha Ripley, Beta Cliff and a seventeen year old, Holden took off toward the exam rooms. Dr. Harken and Edith were close behind. They followed Odessa's scent to the exam room she had gone to only to find it empty. Alpha Ripley, and Beta Cliff both turned to look at Dr. Harken.

"Leon, where else would they take her." The Alpha demanded.

"There's an elevator just passed the two doors there, they lead to the basement. No one but me and Dr. Collins are supposed to have a key." Dr. Harken explained.

"Looks, like we know one of the guilty parties." Alpha Ripley said in response.

"I can't believe he would do this with the risk of termination. Especially, after the pack medical board deemed, it out of date and barbaric. I knew he wasn't happy with someone as young as me being named head pack doctor. But not enough to take one of my patients behind my back." He said as he put his key into the door to open the doors.

Alpha Ripley, spoke next as the elevator opened. "He's risking more then just medical termination, Dr. Collins is risking banishment."

Both of Odessa's parents, looked to Dr. Harken as Beta Cliff asked.

"What exactly is Dr. Collins doing to our daughter?" Cliff asked as he shared a look with Edith.

"My best guess, electroshock therapy." Leon replied to Beta Cliff's question.

Holden's eyes widened as he listened to everything the pack leaders where saying. The only reason he was here was because his father wanted to start training him as the packs future Alpha.

Odessa's POV

All of my nerve endings were on fire. My fingers and toes were tingling and burn so bad I thought they were going to fall off. There was no stopping the second scream that ripped its way free from my throat as Dr. Collins started the electroshock machine a fourth time.

Once I realized that I was no longer screaming. I tried to focus on the nurse she seemed extremely nervous. She fell to her knees as a tremendous roar suddenly came from beyond the closed doors. As the doors came off their hinges. I realized it hadn't been one roar, but two echoing off each other.

I could hear Alpha Ripley's voice as he yelled at Dr. Collins.

"What the hell do you think you're doing!" Alpha Ripley yelled.

The other voice belonged to my father.

"How dare you do this to my daughter!"

There was a gasp for air as Alpha Ripley grabbed Dr. Collins by his throat.

"By my order as Alpha of the Moonstone pack. I here dismiss you from your duties at the pack hospital. You will stand trial, in front of the other elders. They will then decide if they agree with my punishment for you!"

I let the sounds of the Alpha and my Beta, father fade once I realize my mother and Dr. Harken were trying to talk to me.

"Odessa, sweetheart can you hear us." Came my mother's frightened voice.

I was trying to focus my eyes, but every time I tried they would rolled back into my head.

"Odessa, it's Dr. Harken I'm unplugging the machine and I'm going to remove the leather band from your head." Dr. Harken said gently to me.

It was such a relief to feel the metal bolts moving away from my head. The tightness of the straps on my legs and arms disappeared. I had thought I had no more tears left.

But then one unbidden tears slips down my cheek. Then and there I realized, that I wanted my big brother. He would be able to chase this away like all the other monsters he had in the past.

"Ethan, where's Ethan I need my-my brother." At least that was what I was trying to say. But my words came out broken.

A strong warm hand suddenly clutched on to my trembling cold one.

"He's watching your little sisters with Kayley. I'm not Ethan, but I'm here Odessa. I won't let anything bad happen to you. Ethan would do the same for my sister." The warm gentle voice said to me.

It finally came to me who the voice belonged to. "Ho-Holden?"

"That's right I'm here and your Mom is here. Ethan will be here as soon as he can."

Everything started to fade then and the voices fall softer till they disappeared and then there was complete darkness.
