Kate's POV
The officer's eyes darted between me and Gerald before landing on Gerald.
“Is that what you want? That they end in jail?” Gerald asked and I rolled my eyes.
“That's a dumb question man.” I sneered
“Your family should all end up in jail. And you too, if care is not” I added. The way he gulped hard in fear sent a satisfied grin to my face. It feels good to know that my words had such an impact on him.
“Is he part of your offender?” One of the officers asked. I had this urge to say yes, but then again, I realized that he was the one who had saved me and brought me here.
If it weren't for him, I'm sure as hell that I'd be dead by now. Therefore, I'm not gonna take that for granted.
