Chapter 6

The Perfect Plan SEVERAL DAYS BEFORE THE WEDDING. "Have you signed yet?" He adjusted the hood on his head, looking around the parking lot. "Yes, we signed this morning." "Rick, do it right. I'm afraid you'll ruin it. And don't mess with Lexi. It could ruin everything. I've been telling you the same thing for months. It's very dangerous." "Don't worry. I like Lexi; she's fun and very flexible." "Flexible?" "You wouldn't understand." "Let's stick to the plan!" "Yeah, everything's fine. But I'm not sure if at some point Candy will be unfaithful to me. She loves me." "Don't be naive. There's not a single thing that's indispensable in Candy's life. The things that affect them are for a short time, just like her love affair with you. Don't think you're the man of her dreams. You're handsome, rich, and have a good last name. Something worthy of her good reputation, and I'm a little tired of her always getting what she wants." "She's very smart." "The fact that she accepted that they made the prenuptial agreement with your conditions is another matter." "I'm persuasive. You can't even imagine what I had to do to make that happen." "It doesn't matter. It's done. I have been clear with the steps to follow. Don't be alarmed and follow the instructions." AT THE AIRPORT, BEFORE THE HONEYMOON. "I don't know what happened! Everything was in order, I checked it a million times," Candy said desperately when she saw that she couldn't board the plane. Rick was a little nervous; he didn't understand what was happening there either. Why was there an error with the tickets? He received a call, the last thing he wanted was to talk to someone, but he saw the number on the screen, he didn't have it registered, although he knew it by heart. Lexi Weber. His lover. "Honey, give me a second." He left Candy arguing with the airline workers while he made his claim. "Lexi, what the hell?! Why are you calling me right now? Are you crazy? I'm with Candy." "Not for long. She won't be able to board the plane." "How do you know that?" "Look back discreetly." Rick turned around, not very discreetly. "Discreetly!" "Are you...here?" He found Lexi at the very back, in some seats full of people, but there she was, getting up so he could see her. He sat back down, continuing on the call. "I'm here, little lion. We're going on our honeymoon. You and I." Rick turned to Candy; the argument was getting more heated, but Candy couldn't do anything. "You are not crazy. It's my honeymoon with Candy. You will not go." "I have my suitcase at my feet. Candy won't be able to get on the flight. I have arranged everything so that she cannot leave. We will leave together on that flight, and…I will have the privilege of experiencing the wedding night. Aren't you excited?" It was a lot of risk; behind all that, he had a plan that could not fail. Taking a risk with Lexi was risking that plan, and they had already warned him. "I'm sorry, Lexi. But I won't risk it this way." "Taking a risk is telling me no…and for me to approach my sister to show her the photos I have with you between my legs or all the old ones we took in the past months. What do you say, Rick?" He looked back in Lexi's direction. It was still a risk she couldn't take, but if Lexi approached Candy and revealed that they had been lovers for months, the prenuptial agreement she had signed when they got married would now be against her. "See you inside the plane." He ended the call and returned to his wife. "I'm sorry, Rick. But there seems to be no way for both of us to take the same flight." "Hey, calm down. It's not that big of a deal. What are the options we have? Don't let this day be ruined by this simplicity. Things will turn out well." AFTER CANDY FOUND HIM WITH HIS SISTER. "Found me." "What?" The voice on the phone rose. "What the hell are you saying?" "Candy," he swallowed, knowing the mess he had made, the danger of losing a lot of money, and unleashing Candy's anger. "She arrived at the hotel, and I..." "Rick…what did you do?! That?!" "Lexi came with me to the hotel, Candy couldn't take the flight and…I thought she would arrive the next day, not just a couple of hours later." "Demons! f**k!" "She found me in bed with Lexi." "I told you! She felt like that little slut could ruin everything. And now?! Tell me what happened? Tell me!" "I admitted everything, I told her that I had a relationship with his sister for months and that I want to have children with her." "Do you want…to be left without…a penny?" The voice was cold, without emotions, only a rage that consumed her. "Damn useless. All you had to do was not screw up, and you ruined the plan. Why didn't you tell me that? Why didn't you inform me? I was the one who got Candy on the f*****g plane! Which I wouldn't have done if I knew you were with Lexi." "You? Well, fix it. All of this is your fault. I would lose all my money!" "You’re stupid!" “If you take a single cent from me, I'll rat you out.” “I'll think of something. Put your p***s inside your pants and keep it there for the next few hours." The next plan was to find Candy, drugged her, and then put her in bed with a man, but that was not necessary. Rick and Lexi found her at the bar, drinking with that stranger. She was so drunk that no drugs were needed. They saw her go to her room and knew that after that she would be the unfaithful one. Everything fell into place perfectly without them having to do much else, and the plan that was destined to fail... was now perfect, with everything to win. Rick would take all his money. The perfect plan was still underway, without Candy having the slightest idea who her enemies were. PRESENT He rang the doorbell of Alaric Jackson's house. The one who opened it was a girl, followed by her father. Rick recognized Alaric's face and took a step forward. "Alaric Jackson. I think we need to talk." "Come in, please," he invited. "Go to your room, Millie." "I'll be direct. I know you slept with my wife, right on the day of the honeymoon." "That was just a mistake, the alcohol had an effect, and then... I'm sorry." Alaric didn't know where to put his head. He was in front of the man who ruined his honeymoon. "I understand. I don't blame you, Candy is... like that. She goes through life doing harm. I will divorce her, but I need an affidavit of what happened that day, that night. Something that affirms that you were with her that night. I want to get divorced due to infidelity. What do you say?" "I do not know. I couldn't do something like that. She was drunk too, I don't think she wanted to do that to you." "Believe me. If she wanted. It's Candy." "I'm sorry." Alaric stood up. "But I can't do that." Rick's expression changed, he thought he would have that man's cooperation, but he wouldn't. Rick took out his cell phone and showed him the photos and videos of the two of them. "I have a lot of evidence. But like I told you, everything would be faster if you help me with that." "No," Alaric said once again. "I'm sorry, but I can't." "Samara told me that you were going to help me." “I told her we could talk, not that I would do such a thing. I figured what you wanted was an apology, not this. Sorry, get out of my house right now.” “But,” "Now," he insisted, pointing to the door. Rick clenched his fists, considering starting a fight, which in the end would solve nothing. He looked at Alaric's expression and thought twice. He walked to the door without Alaric accompanying him and left. He wouldn't get his statement.
