Magic and miseries

Part 1: New beginnings Stasia walked the lonely hallway to her best friend's dorm Ian for their usual study time. It was late evening which made the hallways and staircase feel haunted, it would have been a bit better if people were around walking to and fro to their various business but today was different as not a single soul could be found. Stasia pulled her hoodie closer for comfort. "What remains now is the just the banging of windows and doors plus a ghostly wail to make here completely haunted." She muttered under her breath as she made her way to dorm No 119,she soon got there and exhaled deeply as she glanced at the window where the bright full moon stared back at her smirking as if it knew what was going to happen. Checking her phone one last time to confirm his text message telling her to meet at his lodge by 7:30pm, she knocked on the door and waited. A still silence followed,she placed her ear on the door to check if she could make out any movement when she heard a piercing scream. Ian! Stasia shouted as she tried to open the door. She could hear some screams and ripping of clothes as a scuffle took place behind the door. She dug in her purse and found the spare key plus a pepper spray. The noises and screams suddenly ceased as the door opened slowly on it's own leaving Stasia a bit hesitant and scared to enter. She tightened her grip on the pepper spray and entered. "Ian?! If this is a joke, it's not funny anymo..." Stasia was caught short as she came in face to face with a big white growling wolf. "Jesus on crutches, what the hell?" Stasia whispered as she froze on the spot, her eyes scanning the room for anything. She saw the clothes Ian wore to class that day shredded to bits. The wolf howled snapping her back in to reality as it charged forward slowly making her to retrace her steps. "Good wolf, who is a good boy? "Stasia said trying to calm both herself and the wolf down. The wolf almost became calm for a minute before launching an attack on her. She screamed as she turned and ran out of the room, the wolf hot in it's pursuit. She kept on running when suddenly she slipped and tumbled down the stairs spraining her ankle in the process. The wolf looked down on her from the top of the stairs as Stasia dragged herself backwards on the floor. It took a stance and then jumped,claws out soaring in the air. Stasia instinctively put her arms to shield her as she screamed shutting her eyes waiting for the attack which never came. Instead she felt a shove as someone pushed her out of harm's way. she opened her eyes to see that it was Don. "Don?! But how did you get here so fast" Stasia asked relieved, grateful yet bewildered. "Uhmmmmm I am a fast runner" Don chuckled nervously "Stasia I want you to run and find the closest safe place to hide and wait for me." "And leave you behind with a wolf no way." "So you DO care about me?" "Nope, fine maybe a bit,besides you can't take down a wolf much less anything this size." "Sta... you are hurt already. Just go I"ll promise to be safe." Don promised as the wolf stood up from where it was flung to, and attacked once more. Don pushed Stasia as he faced the wolf while she limped away and hid in a Janitor's closet. "Oh my God, my life has really changed. A year ago I would have taken care of the wolf easily." Stasia said as she worried about herself, Don and Ian
