Damon. The morning air was sharper than usual carrying that coolness only the mountains could provide biting and invigorating. I stood alone in the yard witj sweat already beading across my back as I moved through one of the more brutal warm up drills witj low, wide stances, fists cutting through the air and body twisting with every strike like I was clearing out the ghosts in my chest. We'd stayed here longer than we intended, far longer than we should’ve. A part of me resented the comfort we’d found in this space even as another part clung to it like it was a stolen luxury. But we both knew the truth and we had two days left. Two days and then it was back to the Institute. Back to pretending and back to keeping secrets and back to silencing things that couldn’t be named. And then
