Elijah sat with Dak, holding his hand as the sound of the beep, beep, beep kept him calm. As long as that machine beeped it meant that Dak was still alive.
“Has he come around yet?” Topaz asked.
Shaking his head, Elijah softly replied, “No. There’s been no change. What are you doing back here, Topaz. I told you I would take over and that Abe would be coming in an hour to relieve me.”
“I know, but I can’t leave Dak. Jade would be here with him if he could, and Dak needs to know that. He needs to know that Jade wouldn’t leave him if he had a choice.” Topaz rasped.
“Khall said that Hron and the others are doing everything they can to find him, Topaz.” Elijah softly replied.
