Chapter 11

Xander wasn't that mad when he found me in the meadow. I was just laying in my wolf form at the edge of the water, thinking about life. I stared at my reflection, the sun making my fur sparkle. Xander came and laid down next to me, nuzzling his snout into me. I purred softly, nuzzling him back. I love you, Xander's voice came through the mind link. I giggled at his cheesiness and got up, running off into the woods. I knew Xander and I shouldn't be having fun, but I couldn't help it. My nature was to have fun and do anything to make people laugh, and it was hard to not do that at this time. Hey, you didn't say it back, Xander said playfully. He ran off after me and let out a low, playful growl. I pushed myself to go faster and ran to the pack house shifting and running inside towards Xander's office. I hid in one of the cabinets and heard him enter the office. I held my breath and listened carefully. "Taylorrrrrrrrrr," he said in a voice higher than his normal one. "Xanderrrrrrrrr," I said in an even higher pitched voice. "Taylorrrrrrrrrrrr," he said, going in the highest pitched voice he could do. "XANDERRRRRRRR!" I screamed, beating him. Alpha! Luna! Quintons at the eastern border! One of the warriors on guard duty said quickly through the mind link. I quickly crawled out of the cabinet and Xander and I rushed off to the location. Alpha Quinton was a good looking guy with his tanned skin and dirty blonde hair, but the kind of alpha he was ruined it all. Anyways, he didn't even compare to Xander. I grabbed my mates hand and leaned into his side. The gesture wasn't out of fear but there was an uncomfortable tension in the air and the closer I was to him, the easier it felt to be here. "Alpha Quinton," Xander said with no emotion at all, his eyes set in a cold, hard stare. "Ahh, Alpha Xander. I need to speak with you. You see, you stole three of my pack members, one of them being my mate. Now, I will return the favor," Quinton said in an evil voice. "You killed your mate when she traded packs," I sneered, looking at the disgusting excuse of an alpha. How he ever got to be alpha I will never know but he couldn't stay in his position. "Because she rejected me and I never told her she could reject me," he said, his anger growing as his eyes darkened. "She wasn't a puppet! She was a human being who was very capable of making her own decisions whether you were okay with them or not!" I argued. "Shut up," he growled. "Now Xander, I will take your precious little mate along with two of your other pack members. Mark my words," he smirked, emitting a low growl as he looked me up and down. Xander growled as his eyes turned a dark shade of black. I was shoved behind him a bit too roughly but I didn't care at the moment. I didn't want Quintons eyes on me just as much as Xander didn't. "You will never get her or anyone else," he growled. "We'll see about that," Quinton smirked. "I'll stop at nothing to get even with you for what you did. You're a sorry excuse for an alpha. Daddy would not be proud." Xander lunged on top of Quinton, shifting half way through the air. I watched as he growled directly in Quinton's face. Quinton laughed, shifted, tossed Xander off of his body, and ran off. Xander shifted back, and I watched his shoulders go up and down from the deep breaths he was taking. "Xan, we have to do something about him being alpha. He can't stay in his position if he's this unstable,"I said. Xander nodded at me and we both ran off in the opposite direction, wanting to quickly get home and tell everyone what happened. We told Thomas, Mia, Aiden, Tessa, and Ali what Quinton said. Everyone agreed that something would have to be done about his alpha leadership. The next morning, I was up at six and didn't bother to take a shower, knowing I was going to get hot and sweaty with the amount of training I was planning on doing today. I ate a quick protein bar and walked into the woods, reaching our training area where I waited for the warriors, teens, and young adults who wished to be trained. It was a nice, huge clearing that would let people have enough room to do what they needed to do without harming someone unless in combat. People started trickling in soon, sleep still evident in their eyes. Xander and Thomas came to my side, as they were my assistance and also the alpha and beta. We spent all morning training, and I was proud of all the sweat dripping from everyone. It meant we were actually getting some work done and that was all we could hope for. "Alright, you're all dismissed," I said, only one drop of sweat rolling down my forehead. Ali came up to me looking about ready to pass out. "You're... a good... trainer," she managed to gasp. I let out a small chuckle. "Go get some water and then rest, you worked hard," I encouraged. Ali nodded and trudged off after everyone else. "I'm gonna go find Trina, thanks for training us," Mia said, without any sign of struggling to breathe present. She worked hard but being the golden wolf, she had a lot more energy and stamina then most wolves. This was like running around your house a couple times to her. "See you later," I said as she turned around and walked off. "I'm gonna go too," Thomas said, running after his mate and grabbing her from behind. "Thomas," we heard her squeal in the distance, and a deep laugh came after that. "I'm gonna go take a shower," I laughed, beginning to walk towards the pack house. "Can I join," Xander asked in a cocky voice, grabbing my hand in his. "No." "But Taylor..." I shot a glare at him and he immediately backed off. I faced forward and smirked. I quickly took a shower and then Xander went in, and I started to make dinner. "We all need to go out and have some fun," Thomas said, inviting himself in and plopping down on the couch. I smirked at Thomas as I pulled the pizza out of the oven. "Let's do it."
