Elena's POV: New Year, New Me. Right? My name is Elena Morgen and well, since the accident with my parents last year i don't think it is possible to ever change and make myself into a whole new person. I was still hurt, i missed them and i don't think i would ever get over it. This is why my 19 year old brother Adam thought it would be best to move out of Canada and leave everything behind. We needed a new start, even if our past was hard to forget. And for me, i was in grade 10, sophomore year. My prime time. Although i was never considered a loser in high school, i was never popular either. I loved art and computers, my dad always helped my build computers and my mom loved to draw with me. I guess this fact helped me never get "nerd" as my first name. We (Adam) decided to move to Dominican Republic, i didn't have much say in the matter but the only reason he chose to move there was so he could hit on hot chicks, his words not mine. I only had one friend in high school, Adelaine. I loved her to the moon and back and i even promised her that i would call her every week when i moved, but little did she know, i don't think i could ever talk to her again. There was no point of keeping in touch because i knew one thing that always happened, my best friend would forget about me. I knew over time i would forget about her and she would move on as well, you can only talk to someone online that was across the world for so long until you get bored. I was currently finishing up packing all my things and heading downstairs for the airport when i saw something shining on my desk, i almost forgot. My mother had given me a necklace when i was nine and i never stopped wearing it until recently, it made me too sad when i put it on. It was gold, round and contained a locket surrounded by beautiful patterns. The locket had a key hole but i never got a key so i assumed it couldn't be opened. I decided to put it on and looked at myself in the mirror. I was 15 now and had changed so much. I was wearing a black champion hoodie, sweatpants and white sneakers. To say the least, i didn't give a f**k about how i looked, i never have. Not because i was insecure about my body but because i took comfort over style any day. Wearing dresses and crop tops sounded like torture and if i was going to be on a 9-hour plane i sure as hell wasn't going to wear a dress. I was about to pick up my suitcase and pillow when i heard my brother yell at me. "Elena get over here right now!". I wanted to hit him. I walked over to his room stomping my feet as i walked to annoy him. "Christ Adam you don't need to yell at me i'm not deaf you kn-" I got cut off when Adam put his hand on my mouth, closing the door shut and pushing me against it, his body right against mine. What was he doing? "Elena, have you been a good girl and finished packing? We have to leave in 5 minutes", i nodded. He took his hand away fixed my hair and smiled at me. We were really close and he always cared for me now that my parents were gone. It may seem weird but he was always really protective like this, i mean he was my brother, he wouldn't do anything weird to me obviously. He walked away and let me go. He was shirtless obviously. "Adam, put a shirt on" "How else will i get the girls?" He winked at me, and i walked out of the room with him slapping my ass. I laughed, weirdo. I headed downstairs and put my suitcase in the car to head to the airport. Here we go.
