Chapter Twenty-four

[Khyzrr Khryss Alejandro's Point of View]

I’m creating a sample for almost four hours now, I don’t want to go out since I’m too busy to do that. I’m halfway towards my scent, it’s a very manly scent, well, for me. I wonder how’s the scent of Keliche, I’ll just disturb her later after I finished this.

“Finally.” I said while mixing the mixture, my sample’s done but I knew that I still have to make this perfect. It’s fine for now, it’s just a first sample. I checked the wall clock inside my lab and it’s already three in the afternoon. I didn’t eat lunch, I guess, I’ll go grab some.

I got out of my lab and I was about to barge inside Keliche’s lab when I saw that signage,

DO NOT DISTURB A WORKING CHEMIST, PLEASE. THANK YOU.

I laughed hard when I saw it and decided not to disturb her anymore. I want to eat somewhere since I’m going to eat alone so I just decided to walk outside the building when suddenly, someone bumped into me.

“Hey there, little girl. Are you okay?” I asked her, she’s wearing a mask but I see her eyes are swollen, maybe she cried a while ago, she raised both of her hands like she wants me to carry her. She’s not that big, she’s probably 5 or 6 years old. I obliged, I carried her in my arms.

“Can you buy me an ice cream, stranger?” She asked while looking at me, maybe her nanny doesn’t want to give her some ice cream? So I just nodded and take her with me since she’s too cute to leave there alone. It’ll be a big trouble if she’ll get into an accident, she’s safe with me at least.

When we’re about to get inside the car, she pointed the passenger seat but I move my head sideways, rejecting her wish because that’s Keliche’s spot and only hers.

“Maybe your girlfriend will get jealous if I sat on that, aren’t she?” She asked before sitting on the back seat so I just nodded and laughed at her. I just wished that she’s my girlfriend already.

When suddenly, a phone rang so I looked at her when I was about to drive,

“I’ll be back, nanny. I’ll just eat some ice cream. See you later!” She said happily before looking at me and signaling me to just go on. She’s an adorable little kid and I think I’ve seen her somewhere but I can’t remember.

“Do you work in that company?” She asked so I nodded, she smiled, I saw her smile! And she’s not cute, she’s actually beautiful.

“Why did you ask?” I said while looking on the road because I don’t want to get into an accident, I still love my life and I’m still going to marry Keliche as soon as possible so I needed to live.

“My sister’s working in that company too. She’s great, she can do everything and she’s intelligent too.” She answered, I can smell the proudness in her voice. Maybe she’s just too proud of her sister and I guess that’s good.

“I want to meet her, maybe she’s beautiful as you.” I joked her.

“Yes, she is. The bad thing is, she, she doesn’t want to smile…” She said and when I heard that I stopped the car and looked at her while she’s staring at me with a confused look.

“W-what did you say?” I asked, still looking at her eyes to know if she’s just bluffing or what. But, when I looked into her eyes. I knew she isn’t because she has her sister’s eyes too.

“We’ve been apart for years and I just want to meet and play with her before I go. I only have few days left and I’ll be leaving.” She answered before the tears started flowing from her eyes.

“What do you mean? You’re going where?” I asked again, still curious.

“To heaven. I’m Zhanelle, just so you know, in case I die tomorrow.” She answered while the tears still flowing from her eyes, it doesn’t stop and I don’t want it so I drove immediately to an ice cream parlor. Some people says that ice cream is a comfort food so I think she needed it. She speaks at me like she’s already an adult while she’s just a kid for whoever’s sake!

When we went inside, there’s a few customers so we immediately order, I didn’t plan to eat ice cream as a lunch but I have no choice but to just eat one even though I’ starving. And while we waited for the ice cream, we just talked about things. Things that Keliche should tell me.

“What happened to your family?” I asked.

“All I know is my sister left us.” She answered, maybe their parents twisted the story. I felt bad for her.

When the ice cream arrived, we immediately dig in. She’s happy that after a while she ate a precious ice cream. She looks like a happy kid she is. Maybe Keliche got this beautiful smile too, I can’t wait to see it.

“We should go back now; I still have work.” I said to her, she nodded before standing up and walking towards the door. She’s like a boss because I’m walking after her. She’s like Keliche’s mini version but a bit nicer.

Few minutes later, we’re heading towards the building’s entrance when Keliche saw me so I waved. I’m smiling at her when suddenly, a loud scream broke my gaze on her.

“Big sister!” Zhanelle shouted at her before she started running to her, I was caught off guard when I saw Keliche looked at me with confusion and I can read the anger in her eyes.

“It’s been a long time, daughter.” A woman said while looking at Keliche, she’s smiling at her but Keliche’s looking at her darkly. She’s literally glaring at her! Is she her mom?

“You’re not my mother!” Keliche answered, she was about to walk out when the woman started to speak again.

“Stop being stone-hearted, your sister needs you, Shizamme. Go home.”

She faked a laugh, she faked a sarcastic laugh.

“When I needed you, where are you? You just throw me out of that f*****g mansion and left me there. Now that you needed me you’re now asking me to go home with you? No, I’m not going home with you and I don’t care about your stupid reasons.” She said before she started walking towards me, maybe she’s asking for help and I need to help her so I immediately opened the door of the car for her and walk as fast as I could to enter the driver’s side.

“Take me somewhere. I just want to have a peace of mind. I intend to do stupid things when I’m angry and I don’t want to be stupid for now. Just please, take me anywhere peaceful.” She said before she closed her eyes.

I really don’t know the real story and I want to ask for questions but I just stayed quiet since I don’t want her to be angry at me too. I won’t risk my life so I just continue driving until I found myself inside my house’ backyard. Why the hell did I drove towards here?

“Do you have a punching bag?” She asked, I nodded because I really have one inside my gym. Maybe she’s going to put her anger towards my punching bag, I just hope that my punching bag can take her strength, when she’s angry.

“Thank you for saving my ass a while ago. I really owe you a lot but let’s just get inside.” She said before going out of my car.

Wait, did she thanked me again? Am I going to celebrate now? She freaking thanked me again! But, I knew that it’s not the right time to be thankful. There’s a lot of dilemma coming to drown us.
