Chapter Thirty

[Khyzrr Khryss Alejandro's Point of View ]

I pulled out from the hug and I looked at her, she still looked shock about what happened. f**k, now she’s homeless. I can’t just let her sleep somewhere.

“Let’s go, stay in my house while you still have no apartment to stay in.” I told her, she looked at me before moving her head sideways. With a confused look, I looked at her intently.

“Where are you going to sleep for a night? It’s cold outside, you’ll get sick and --.” I stopped when someone interrupted me, she’s a woman aged probably 40s or 50s though she looked so beautiful and she’s holding a little boy in her hand, the little boy’s smiling at us.

“I’ll take her with me, my house is a few meters away from here.” She said while pointing a crème colored two-story house just a few meters from us, then I looked at Keliche and she looked like she’s not decided yet so I held her hand.

“I guess, I’ll just stay at Ms. Leticia’s house for tonight. It’s appropriate if I’ll sleep at your house, I’m not your girlfriend nor your wife.” She answered before letting go of my hand, so I nodded.

“Then fine, I’ll just pick you up tomorrow at their house. We’ll go to work together, okay?” I asked her, she nodded so I smiled, then suddenly, I felt a pain on my stomach and when I looked at it, it’s already bleeding. So much more for being so irresponsible, maybe my stitches reopened!

“Geez, it’s bleeding!” Keliche hysterically said while pointing my stomach and out of nowhere, Lizzey appeared with a dark expression. She dragged me to her car, Keliche followed us too. She’s worried, okay? And I felt happy because I felt like she’s concern for me.

When we’re already inside the car, Lizzey kept on mumbling something I can’t understand. Geez, she’s mad, I know and she has the right to get mad since I did a mistake. While Keliche’s silent on the back while she’s looking on her phone.

“We need to get a team that will investigate this! This is getting out of hand!” Lizzey said even though she knew that it’s our father, the devil’s behind this act. He’s the one who makes the commands and his tentacles will do the work.

“Calm down, Liz. We’re on the road.” I told her, she just rolled her eyes while driving. This is why I hate her sometimes, she’s too hot-tempered like dad and violent. She’s tough like him too, she’s really his daughter, no doubt about that.

Minutes later, we arrived at the hospital and the nurses immediately took care of me. Keliche’s always on my side, even while they are stitching my wound, she didn’t dare to look away even though she looked so horrible. She’s just always by my side, and when they already put me on my own hospital room, she sat on the visitor’s chair beside my bed.

“Are you still hurt?” She asked while looking at my newly bandaged wound, I just nodded and before I can even say something, she already punch me lightly on my arm.

“You’re an i***t, you know that? You just got shot and you dare to go out of the hospital? Do you want to die or something? I’ll just stab you on your chest if you want to!” She shouted at me, thank God that I’m not in the hospital ward, this girl’s so noisy and violent. Some may think that she’s bullying a patient. I don’t want her to end up in jail even though she punched me a while ago.

“I’m sorry, okay? I’m just shocked, I just thought that you’re inside the apartment.” I answered, she rolled her eyes.

“And you think that you can save me from that huge fire? You can’t even walk properly a while ago and you thought that you can even save me --.” She stopped while looking at me, she’s being so talkative.

“I’m brave enough to try, even if die, if it’s for you then I’ll be fine at least I tried. I don’t want to die in regret, you know.” I said and she’s still looking at me like I’m the dumbest person ever existed in front of her eyes. Really? She’s not getting it, is she?

“Still, it’s too risky… geez, I still have to go to Alana at the morgue. If you can’t still drive for tomorrow, don’t you dare pick me up or I’ll kill you.” She said before messing with my hair before going out of the room.

At least she’s not hurt, that’s all that matters.

My phone beeped on the side table so I carefully reached for it and my gripped tightened as I read the message coming from the devil.

Your girlfriend’s tough, but I’m not ending this game too soon. Boom.

Hours had passed and Lizzey enter my room with her boyfriend while they are holding a lot of paper bags, maybe it’s for our dinner tonight.

“Keliche’s one of a kind girl. She just made father’s four tentacles in prison.” Lizzey said while unpacking the foods they got, with wide eyes, I slowly sat properly, asking for more details.

“She observed the surroundings, we’re talking on the phone a while ago while she’s on her way back to wait, -- Ms. Let something and then someone approached her, then do you know what happened next? She broke their bones then my connections did the rest.” She said, what? Keliche turned them down? Is she f*****g real?

“A-are you sure?” I asked her again, she just rolled her eyes before nodding. Maybe that’s what the devil’s talking about, that Keliche’s one tough girl.

We just ate in silence, Green’s just the only one who talks a lot. Well, Green really talks a lot, nothing new.

“I’ll be leaving later, Green’s the one who’ll sleep here. I have some work to do.” Lizzey said after she finished cleaning the mess when we ate dinner.

“Don’t do bar hopping again, you have a freaking boyfriend for whoever’s sake.” I answered, Green laughed while messing with my sister’s hair. Geez, I remember the scene a while ago. She messed my hair and it’s so darn cute! This is so gay but I felt happy!

“I won’t, I’ll process the case of those freaking bastards and I’ll make them rot in jail forever.” She said, I laughed.

“Are you a freaking attorney or prosecutor?” I asked her.

She shrugged, “I have three attorneys, bro. I have my ways.” She answered before giving her boyfriend a quick kiss on the lips, so gross.

“I’ll be leaving, bro. See you tomorrow.” She said before leaving me and Green alone in the room, I looked at Green and he’s looking at me too before we both laughed. We’re crazy and we know it.

“So, what are we going to do?” I asked him, he looked at me with wide eyes.

Geez, this boy’s greener than his own name. What an i***t!

“Let’s just sleep, you moth-minded person!” I shouted at him, he laughed while browsing something on his phone, geez, then fine let’s just mind our own business. It’s not hard though, I’ll just text Keliche since I need to check how’s she’s doing.

Hey, Ice. Still up?

That’s my message since it’s already 10 in the evening, I don’t know if she’s still up or not. Maybe she’s tired so she slept early, things like that. But minutes later, she replied, I smiled.

Yea, what do you need?

I immediately dialed her number and she picked it up fast. Maybe she’s getting used to it, I’m lazy when it comes to texting. I prefer calling her and I’ll just listen to her voice and we’ll talk.

“What are you doing?” I asked her, she yawned. Maybe she’s already sleepy or something.

“I’m just staring at the ceiling before you called. I’m here at Ms. Leticia’s house, in one of her quest rooms, it’s quite nice. I guess.” She answered, giving me full details.

“Are you already sleepy?” I asked her again.

“Nope, I just want to clear my mind for now, there’s a lot of things happened in the span of 24 hours. I don’t even know if I’m going to believe it or not.” She answered, I smiled.

“This is all happening and you’re so tough.” I told her.

“You’re always saying things like that to me, you’re really a good friend.” She said.

“Tell me that I’m not dreaming, you really said that.” I told her, eager to know if it’s really real or not.

“Geez, I just told you, I’m your friend and you’re my only friend since Alana already died because of me.” She answered, I heard a pain in her voice. She really loves her bestfriend a lot.

You’re saying this hopeless, that I should hope less

“You’re singing again though I have to admit that you really had a great voice.” She commented before I continued singing.
