Chapter Twenty-six

[ Khyzrr Khryss Alejandro's Point of View ]

I looked at her and she’s looking at me too. I don’t care what her life became after they threw her out, I still like her despite of that, she’s the only woman I want to spend the rest of my life with. I knew that I never told her what I feel but this time, I knew that I need to tell her what’s real.

I’ve been lonely for the rest of my life

All those blurry days has passed by

When I first met you on the coffee spot, I knew

She’s looking at me; her eyes are big as an owl while I started singing my own song I wrote for her after I saw her reading her book at the coffee shop. I’m not a very good composer but I hope that it’ll be enough for her to say yes to me.

All those coldest stares you gave me

And the glares, how I love it.

The moment I saw you

I moved a bit closer before I sang the chorus part.

I like you more than anything in this complicated world

And I want to spend the rest of my life with you

I slowly knelt on the ground, she’s tearing up and I don’t know what’s behind those tears.

“I promise to make you smile every day, will you marry and spend the rest of your life with me?” I asked but she didn’t answer. She’s just looking at me and I don’t know what to do to her, before she slowly moves her head sideways.

“I maybe look like stupid to you, I know something about this kind of scenarios and this is called proposing right? It’s just eight days when you met me and I think it isn’t enough to like someone. But, I’m not closing the door for you, I’m hoping that you’ll really work hard for me to say yes. Don’t just tell me that you like me, prove it. I want to go home already.” She answered before standing up from the chair, while me, I just stared at her place before until she dragged me upwards to make me stand.

“You don’t like me?” I asked before looking at her direction because she’s a few meters away from me.

“I like you as a human, walking dimple but marrying is for the people who extremely love each other and we’re far from that. Let’s work for it, okay?”

There are times when I want to punch her face or something or let me just slap to her face how much she means to me. She’s saying nonsense but I love nonsense, it’s waking up my brain cells.

“Fine, let’s start working on that. But promise me that you’ll never entertain other boys and you will say yes to me when I propose again.” I said, she just shrugged before walking towards the door leaving me dumbfounded. That girl!

When we reach my car, I unlocked it and we immediately get inside. Nothing has change, still the same.

“Allow me to open the door for you next time, that’s what gentleman would do to a woman like you.” I told her, she just shrugged before looking at me.

I started driving the car towards her apartment when suddenly, my phone started ringing so I turned off the engine to answer the call because maybe it’s important. And it is important because it’s Mr. Craniard and I assumed that it’s about work so I immediately answered it.

“Hello, sir.” I answered, he let out a big sigh.

“First day of work as chemist of the company and that’s your behavior? You didn’t even pass what your head chemist needs before going out!” He shouted so I just put the phone on loud speaker because his voice irritates me a lot.

“My work’s on my lab, sir. It’s already done.” I looked at Keliche, she nodded before saying, “Mine too, sir. It’s on my lab too. It’s done and it’s ready to be submitted.”

“So, you’re dating when you’re supposed to work here at the company. What are you thinking?!” He shouted again, what’s the big deal? We already finished what we need and it’s done already. It’s just an emergency that’s why we left early.

“We aren’t dating, perhaps, we finished our task before going out for lunch because it’s already afternoon when we finished the first task that was given to us. It’s just that an incident happened and we needed to breath, sir. I’ll take the responsibility for the both of us sir, see you on office tomorrow.” Keliche said before ending the call and looking at me.

“You did great.” I commented, she rolled her eyes, “I just hope that we’ll still have our work tomorrow since we’re at fault.” She answered, so I nodded and started driving again.

While we’re on our way home, she seemed to be so silent while looking at her phone repeatedly, she looked like someone’s bothering her.

“What’s going on?” I asked but she didn’t respond, she’s just looking at her phone again. Maybe she’s avoiding it or she didn’t really hear me.

“Ice, are you alright?” I asked her again, still no response.

“Ice!” I shouted, I’m looking right now at the road but I heard that something fell and when I looked at her, it’s her phone, already lying on the floor. She looked at me and I saw fear in her eyes, “Ice, what’s going on?!” I asked her once more, still not saying anything so I stopped the car, we’re close to their apartment.

She didn’t look at me, “Just take me home. I’ll be fine.” She said before picking her phone from the floor, so I just nodded and drive again since it’s better to just let her have what she wanted. I don’t have any energy to argue with her right now, I’m so drained and I still need to drive back home.

When we reached their apartment, she immediately got off without saying any thank you. She just left me there in my car while I’m looking at her enter her apartment. What the f**k is that? What did just happen?

I was about to start the engine of my car when my phone beeped so I looked at it and saw that it’s a message from Ice that made my brain stop from functioning.

[I’m starting, prove me that you really can withstand me. I’ll be giving you some points. Good luck to you, Walking Dimple.]

What the heck? I really need to make her fall for me fast because I only have a few days left. I need to marry her as soon as possible, it’s not that because my father said so but because I want to because I really like her.

My phone beeped again so I assumed that it’s from Keliche so I smiled but when I read the name of the sender, my blood begun to boil and my smile turned upside down.

[ So, you’re dating that woman. You have a taste, Khzyrr. Let’s do something about that girl, how’s life without a twist. I don’t want a boring competition. How about running from bullets?]

No, he’s not going to do something with Keliche. I’ll kill him and I’m not joking. So, I immediately replied,

[ This game is for you to lose and for me to win. The victory will always be for me.]

With trembling hands, I immediately drove towards my house, I’ll just call her later. I’ll never let someone touch or make my queen hurt. Not my father, not anyone, no one. They’ll be challenging me first before they touch my Keliche.
