CHAPTER THREE.

The ring from the alarm woke me up from my slumber, we are to start our exams by next week I and my friends are almost prepared for it we read every day I stood up from my bed and wake the others up, we had to get to the bathroom first to avoid the rush.

We had just 5 female bathrooms with 3 toilets and the same for male in our dormitory, we have to share and during school days it's always difficult to share because we have over 80 girls sharing just 5 bathrooms, most times we get to school late or we don't bath at all.

We bought an alarm clock which we use to our advantage, school starts at 9 am we wake up by 4 am to freshen up after that sometimes we go back to sleep or we just read our books till it's time for breakfast. I and Nia entered the bathroom together to bath while Sky uses the male bathroom after that we got to our room to dress up, I dress in a skinny black jean and Sky's Grey sweatshirt Nia is dressed in a skinny blue jean and a maroon-colored polo and Sky wears a washed blue jean with a black sweatshirt. We sat down on our beds to continue reading our books.

Once it's 7:30 am, we had to go to the dining hall for breakfast which was cereal with fruit during breaking an announcement was made by Mr. Bright. He and his wife run the orphanage "Good morning kids, am disturbing breakfast to inform you about the cancelation of school today you all are expected to stay in the house today because we are expecting some important guest and I expect you all to be on your best behavior, thank you and carry on with your breakfast." Mr. Bright's voice sounds all over the dining hall.

After breakfast, we all walked back to our rooms with everyone wondering who the important guest was and why they had to cancel school cause of them. I and my friends walked into our room I and Sky sat on our bed to continue reading while Oceania paces around the room.

"I don't think it's the social workers coming, "Oceania said sounding confused still pacing around the room.

"I was about saying the same thing Nia, the preparation is just so different, "Sky replies looking up from the book his face was buried in.

"Maybe it's an adoption," I voiced out joining the conversation while looking towards Nia, who suddenly put a stop to her walk.

"If it's an adoption, then why ask us to stay also, I mean who wants to adopt a 16year old," Sky asked me with a strange look on his face.

"Who knows, maybe they just want us to stay and pretend to be happy, you know the drill, "Oceania answered on my behalf.

"Have you losers heard, "May beamed walking into our room with a huge grin on her face.

"Have you heard of knocking," Sky replies her while he sits upon his bed?

May is our next room neighbor but she behaves like a spoilt child, we all grew up here and no one has the time to spoil anybody, she's the perfect bimbo and has always been our tormentor growing up to date.

"So, the mouse wanna bite", She said to him while she checks her nails with a smirk on her face.

"Please May, we don't want any trouble," Oceania pleaded with her not wanting any further a***e taking place.

"Well, the authorities are expecting some couples and I think they are three couples," She started looking confused, she plays with the tip of her fake blonde hair for some minutes, she forgets things easily."Now I remember, the authorities are expecting four couples, and do you know the most intriguing part of it," She said eagerly, clapping her hands with a huge smile on her face.

I looked at Nia and Sky if by chance any of them knows the answer to her question, but the both of them were looking at May waiting for her to continue talking, "We don't May," I answered her question timidly and I see the others nodding their heads in agreement to my answer, with the fear of being insulted or beaten by her.

"Of course you know nothing nerds, why do I keep disturbing my brain talking to you?. Well, you won't spoil my fun I will just tell you, they want to adopt 4 sixteen years olds", She screams hopping on a spot with her hair bouncing on her shoulder.

"So, I came here to officially tell you goodbye, you won't be seeing me again after today I will be busy getting ready to leave this place in two weeks and getting to know my new family", She continues in a calm voice but a smirk is present on her face. "Don't miss me much and I will always hate you guys, I will be gone with a rich family might take pity on you and beg my parents to employ you as my maids", She looks at us with a wicked smile on her face, "I have to get ready so I can attract the best family, Goodbye", She waves at us and walked out of the room.

We all released a big sigh in relief and happiness, "I was starting to think she was never going to leave us without a dent on our body or emotions," Sky said getting up from his bed only to make himself comfortable on ours.

"That's the longest she ever stayed in our room even when she decided to vent her anger towards us," I added moving my books to make space for Nia who is standing at the edge of the bed in deep thought.

"If what she just said is true, I can only pray they adopt her minions along with her for us to have peace for once," Oceania input sitting on the cleared space.

"They will be separated the horror," Sky screamed placing his palm on his forehead dramatically.

"At least, we will have our freedom in the house in their absence," I said to him pulling his palm from his forehead with hope in my voice.

"And if by chance any of us get adopted we have to leave together because I can't survive the world out there nor in here without any of you cuties," Oceania said looking at the both of us with a sad smile.

"Same here," I and Sky said together, pulling ourselves into a tight group hug.

Although somewhere within us, we know we can never be adopted, who will adopt a broken child with lots of insecurities we only hope for the best and a name to call ours aside from the Orphanage name which we have as our last name? But, I know I can't live without any of my friends if any if we get adopted.

"Everyone assembles in the charity hall please," Mr. Bright's voice is heard from the speakers in the hallways.

"The moment we've all been waiting for is here," Oceania jokes while we walked out of the room to join the other kids walking out of the dorm to the hall.
