CHAPTER TWO

My name is Hazel, yes just Hazel no last name because I was not found with one.

I was found behind the dumpster beside the Orphanage with nothing but the beanie and the clothes on me.

The authorities said I was found a day after my birth, which makes my birthday the 3rd of May.

I was found with no name so I was named after my unique eye color.

Like my friends Sky and Oceania, they both have a shade of blue eyes color but different shades of blue.

Sky's eyes color is like that of the clear blue sky while Oceania's eyes color is like that of the deep blue ocean.

I Am 16years old, a black American, am slender with a few curves in the appropriate place, a full wavy waist-length black hair, a heart shape face, and diamond shape pink lips, a pointed nose, and my hazel eyes.

I love reading and I only have two friends(Sky and Oceania), They are both 16years old also.

The sky is older than me by five months and Oceania is older than me by three months, making me the youngest amongst us.

Am not an orphan like some of us here, I was found so is Sky, he was found near the hospital and brought here.

While Oceania is the only orphan, she is the only survivor of a ghastly car accident that claimed the life of her family when she was just two years old.

None of her family came forward to claim her, so the cops had to bring her.

The sky is gay, he came out of the closet last year, but who cares.

Both of them are the closest thing I have to a family and we look out and after each other.

We always stick to ourselves and we are always there for each other, during the bad times and the good ones(which we rarely have).

We've been friends for the past twelve years and we always pick each other up during difficult times.

Like when Sky came out of the closet and he was bullied for being gay or when he was r***d by a group of girls six months after he came out, he's still always bullied by the jocks in school.

When Oceania was first assaulted sexually when she was just fourteen and when she was assaulted the second time last year by another group of guys.

Also, when I was also assaulted when I was just eleven by the orphanage security guy when I was assaulted the second time when I clocked thirteen by three jocks in school when I was assaulted lastly by a group of a drunkard when I missed the bus back home, so I had to walk home.

Been bullied in school and beaten to stew pour.

We are always there for each other and help ourselves out of difficulties.

We help each other chase away the nightmares and get over depression.

We always wish to attend college, so we had to study hard for the opportunity to get a scholarship.

We take on after-school jobs, in case we are not accepted into the scholarship program.

I work in a bakery as a salesperson and my sweet tooth won't tolerate me working anywhere else.

Sky works at McDonald's as a waiter, he enjoys it cause it comes with free chicken nuggets most times and tips.

While Ocean is working at Walmart as a sales cashier, she enjoys it because of the free samples and gift cards she gets.

We save all our salaries together for our preparation for college and apartment.

We share a room in the orphanage, our room contains a single bed for Sky and a double-sized bed for me and Oceania.

We have just one wardrobe where we keep all our clothes, while our shoes occupy a rack beside our wardrobe.

There are a reading table and three chairs in the middle of the room with our bed up against the walls on both ends.

We get paid very well where we work, but our money isn't used for anything because the orphanage provides for us.

We don't have last names, so we all use the name of the orphanage as our last name "Bright house", making our last name "Bright".

We are all passionate about something, that's why we want to attend college to accomplish our dreams.

I want to be a Designer, I will be able to travel the world and make cool stuff.

Oceania wants to be a lawyer, she says she wants to right the wrongs did towards us, so other kids won't go through what we went through.

Sky wants to be a model, he loves pictures and talking about himself.

We have the dreams, all we just have to wait for and work towards is the accomplishment of the dreams.
