We skipped into the forest, excited to officially meet Vega. Marie had suggested that I shift first so she could talk me through the shift if I needed her to. I doubted I would since Marie was able to use the advice of her wolf, but I appreciated the gesture nonetheless.
When we had gotten deep enough into the forest for me to feel comfortable, we dropped our bags onto the ground, and I stripped off behind a tree.
‘Alright wolfie, what exactly do I do here?’
‘You release control of your body to me. It’s difficult to explain the sensation if you haven’t done it before, but I think it’s similar to meditating. Once you’re calm, you imagine your consciousness going backward so mine can come to the front. It may help to close your eyes the first time to focus better.’
