Episode 01: A Beginning
Getting admitted to the country’s best college isn’t easy. Many apply, but only a few get in despite the crowd. Among those few one was Anika. She was in her final year at the college. Like every other day, she was heading to college. Her house wasn’t far from the college—it took about 10 to 15 minutes to walk there. As usual, she was walking to college while thinking. Anika: How much homework did they give us today. I feel like I’ll be scolded. I wonder if Fayaz studied or not. After a while, she reached the college, and as she entered through the gate, she noticed Rehana a short distance away. She started calling out to her. Anika: Rehana! Rehaaaana! Ahh..! Rehana: Who’s calling me? Oh, Anika, how did you fall? Anika: Ugh, I tripped on this stupid rock! Rehana: Haha, as if a rock has a brain. Come on, let’s hurry to class—we’re already five minutes late. Anika: Hey,Hey , let’s go quickly. They hurried to class and kept attending one lecture after another until it was almost time for the day to end. Rehana was packing her bag while thinking. Rehana: Good thing there wasn’t too much homework today. Otherwise— ?: Boo! Rehana: Ugh! Tanjil! How many times have I told you not to do that? If you do this one more time, I’ll throw you off the roof! Tanjil: Whoa, calm down, Rehana. Calm down! And how will you even lift me to throw me off the roof? Do you even have that much strength? Anyway, I’m feeling kind of weird today. Rehana: Then do one thing—go to the roof, take a breather, and if that doesn’t work, just jump off the roof. Tanjil: Alright, alright, forget it. Almost everyone’s left already. Let’s go to the canteen and get something to eat. (At the canteen) Tanjil: Hey, look, there’s Anika. Come on, Rehana, let’s go sit with her. Rehana: Hehe, of course, you’ll look for Anika—your beloved, right? Tanjil: Hey, keep it down, Rehana! Someone might hear you! Only you know about it. Rehana: Of course I know. You told me yourself. But you’ve never had the guts to tell her, coward. Tanjil: Yeah, yeah, I’m a coward. Now, come on, let’s go! Hey, Anika! Rehana: Hi, Anika! Anika: Hi, Rehana, Tanjil. Suddenly, Fayaz came from behind. Fayaz: What’s up, guys? Anika: Oh, Fayaz, where were you during the last class? Tanjil: He skipped it because he didn’t study, right? Forget it—what are you guys eating? Pasta? Fayaz: Yeah, that’ll work. Rehana: Alright, let’s get that. Tanjil: Okay, I’ll go get it. Anika: I’ll come with you. Let’s go. Tanjil: Yeah, let’s go. Fayaz: Rehana, can you share the notes from the last class with me? Please? Tanjil: Hmm, you share your notes with him. Anika and I will go get the food. Fayaz: Just send it to me. Rehana: I’ve sent it. Check. Fayaz: Yeah, I got it. Thank you, Rehana. These two aren’t helping me, but you did. Tell me, Rehana, what do you want in return for this? Rehana: (very softly) You. Fayaz: What? What did you say? I didn’t hear. Rehana: No, nothing. Fayaz: Whatever you say, I’ll do it. I’m in a good mood today, so if you need help with anything, just let me know. Rehana: Oh, nothing at all. Tanjil: I’m back! Rehana: I’m starving. Let’s eat first, everyone. Fayaz: Hey, Anika, sit down. Anika: Okay. By the way, Fayaz, what’s up with your crush? You still haven’t told us who it is. Fayaz: (whispering) She’s sitting right in front of me. [Everyone was busy eating, so no one heard what Fayaz whispered.] Tanjil: What did you say? I didn’t catch that. Fayaz: Oh… uh… nothing. (After finishing their food) Anika: Let’s go, Fayaz. Shall we walk home together? Fayaz: Yeah, let’s go. These two siblings will go together anyway. Tanjil: Yeah, we’re going. Today My dad’s coming to pick us up. Rehana: Okay, we’re leaving. Bye! Anika: Okay, bye. Fayaz: Bye. Tanjil: (hinting at Anika and Fayaz) You two look like a couple. Just joking! Bye, bye. Rehana: B..ye... (Since Rehana and Tanjil’s house was far, so their dad came today to pick them up. Anika and Fayaz walked home as their houses were close by.) Fayaz: Bye. (thinking) What? Anika and I look like a couple? Could that really be possible? Anika: (from a distance) Fayaz! Fayaz, come on. What are you thinking? Fayaz: Oh… uh… nothing. Let’s go
