Chapter Three

626 Words
I woke up on time this morning with AJ already gone. I got up and got Brock ready, fed him breakfast and dropped him off at the day care center. Then headed back to the factory. I had extra puffy eyes this morning from the crying last night. I would just say my allergies were bothering me if anyone asked. Yeah right. I dont think anyone would believe me. In the middle of November? Allergies? I had to come up with another excuse, a better excuse. I pulled in and I had a few moments to myself before having to clock in. I decided to head on in and make my way to the break room; find a place for my lunch in the work refridgerator. I had to move somethings around in there but found a spot on the second shelf. I closed the door and there he was. I almost jumped out of my skin and clutched my heart for a moment. "Sorry I didnt mean to scare you!" Ethan said. His face was playful but took on a bit more serious posture. "Thats alright. I was not paying any attention." I say looking down. "Your eyes are puffy this morning." he stated. "Yeah its my allerigies." I had forgotten I needed a better excuse. I looked back up at him and I could tell right away that he was not going to believe me. "I think I have some allergy medicine in my car if you would like some." Ethan offered. "No thats alright I took some this morning, They just arent helping me yet." I lied and offered a small smile wanting to change the subject. "Alright," he nodded, "Mom wanted me to let you know she wasn't feeling well today, so she wouldn't be here. She didn't want you to worry." he informed me. "Oh, thank you for telling me. I hope she is alright and will recover quickly. She is my favorite person in our work cell." I tell him with a geniue small this time. "I Don't doubt that a bit." He chuckled at me. I stood there for a moment and I saw him quickly taking me in fully, down to my feet and back up again like his was studying me. "Well, I will see you around. I got to get to my station. I don't want to be considered late." I start to walk away. "Of course, I will see you at lunch." Ethan said and he turned and walked away. Did he plan on eatting lunch with me? Or is that just something he said as a niceity? If he did decide to eat lunch with my I prayed that it wouldn't be awkward without his mother. Then again it wasn't yesterday. I wouldn't worry myself with it. I am sure he didn't really mean that he would be seeing me at lunch. It was just something nice to say when he ended the conversation. Right? I shook the thoughts from my mind and went to my work station and began working. The time of course went by quickly and it was lunch break in no time. I headed back to the break room and gathered my lunch out of the refridgerator and used the work microwave to heat it up. Then I found a table that was empty towards the back of the room but close enough to the door so that I would be able to get out quickly to make it back to my work station on time. I sat down and began eatting. Ethan popped down in front of me, without any hestitation. Like we had been eating lunch together forever. "Hey doll, how is it going so far?" he asked.
