Chapter 3

2279 Words
Its known that hell hath no fury than a woman scorned, but same could be said for the true bond of friendship between them. A friendship so strong that one doesn’t think twice before doing something for the other – throwing their own morals and beliefs aside. Nothing could come between them, a sign of true friendship, a bond stronger than words. The type of friendship which these two possessed in the inner circle,  Ann the deceiving, fraudulent sly fox in their little duo- Mia the knavish, beguiling fiendish fiend whom controlled their operation, with her sharp secretive, hushed eyes, her sinful plans – all which Ann happily carried out. As she was doing right now, walking into the burly burgundy colored house, dragging the boy with her, his body flailing around in the airtight bag begging to be let out, as she dragged him along up the pavement to that same house where it all began. If it wasn’t for Mia, she would have already disposed of the squirming boy already, but as Mia said, he was a vital part in her plan, and what kind of friend would she be if she didn’t abide by her friends wishes?  Hence why she begrudgingly agreed to take the boy along and pay a little visit to the siren fire haired lady. Contradicting to the loud wailing war going on outside, the trees fighting bravely against the wind standing tall and proud, as the wind and rain pushed hard to bring them down, the rain piercing through the wind aiming straight for the core of the trees, leaving a permanent scare. Inside the crumbled beauty, the house still stood holding on to its remaining years fighting to live on. The floors creaked as her feat padded along the cracked wooden floorboards; bag in hand. The screams from outside fading out as she ventured deeper and deeper into the house.  ‘this should be a good place to start’  she spoke to herself, as she finally let the boy out of his secured cage, his trembling form - hunched back holding onto his legs for protection, little soft whimpers passing through his lips, his eyes brimming with unshed tears aching to fall down his tear strained cheek, to follow down the salty trail. The girl smiled smugly at the boy, patting his soft curls, dangling one strand between her fingers, eyes locked with the boys. “Now Carlisle, you’re going to be a good little boy for me and do everything I tell you okay?” she asked squinting her eyes at him as the crow’s feet under them become more prominent. Taking his silence as a yes, the girl continued. “You shall stay here till the maiden comes and listen to her tale, you may ask questions, but you are not to leave this room. Under any circumstances, I shall come get you once I feel that I have collected all the needed information.” She finished her smile widening even more, as she stood up ready to leave. “W-wait- “the boy croaked out hoarsely, stretching his arm out to her in fear. Fear of what was to come, the dread he felt from this place, this house, the fear of death. It was suffocating, his hand itched to curl around his neck and to end the pain before some other being could lay hand on him. ‘don’t worry,” the girl reassured him, caressing the boy’s cheek softly. “I vowed to bring you back in one piece.”                                                                                            1. One piece? One piece! One piece the little witch said. She had the audacity to say that to her face – one piece? Leila was boiling she would not just sit here and wait for harm to come to her brother. She was not going to just sit by idly and do nothing as her poor little brother was with them losing his wits about him.  Her mind made up, she made her way into the council room once more, she hated to admit it, but she missed the crazy psych teacher that oversaw It before – now the power was theirs. She slammed the door open vociferously the impact alerting the two girls and their little minions sitting around them of her little ‘entrance’ into the room. “Give me back my brother!” she heaved enunciating every word, her chest moving up and down linguistically, her hands balled into fists at her side. To anyone else they would back down be sensing the feral amount of anger that radiated of her but to these two, her right now resembled that of a cat on steroids, one who’s trying to win a losing battle. “I already told you I shall in one piece must I repeat everything to you?” asked Mia with a raise of her eyebrow challengingly. Leila was not having it; she was not going to back down now. “I said give him back to me you demons!” she bellowed loudly at them. Mia arose to her feet in front of her calmly, not showing any effect to the hurtful words aimed at her or the anger and spite that came with it. “I cannot do that as of now.” She finalized, “but- “she began before Leila could interject anymore, “I can assure you he is fine (for now) you can see for yourself,” she said gesturing her to come closer to see the view.                                                                                           2.                                                                  ‘please help me, please anyone, please I’m begging you, please’ The boy pleaded on and on, as the darkness inched closer and closer to him, till he could feel It breathing down his neck. His body shook as cries escaped him, giving in to the darkness letting the girl’s words sink in. “let her come to you.” That she did. With her familiar curly red blood dead locks of hair cascading down her back, those pale white endless eyes, her snow-white skin, her dead grey lips etched to a wide grin, her eyes widening almost painfully-  face to face with his, looking deep into his own. Her face was so close he feared one wrong move and she may end up eating him whole. As her eyes bore deep down into his soul.  As the woman leaned closer the boy shut his eyes tightly in hopes that this was just a dream, that when he opened them back up again, she would be gone, he would be at home in bed with his sister, away from this place. He wished, he prayed for it to happen, as his vision shrouded in darkness, enveloped in his own fear. ‘you don’t need to pray – I can help you get out.” Whispered a quiet voice in his ear                                                                                           3. In the never-ending darkness, the quiet, feeble voice came from the shadows, a little ray of hope for the young boy during this dark time. She pounced on him like a wild feral cat, clamping her paws around his mouth preventing him from emitting any more sounds, silencing the darkened abyss of his mind once more. ‘breathe,’ He placed his hand over his heart, trying to do as asked, in fear of what may happen if he didn’t. the rough beating in his chest just wouldn’t go away, neither would the feeling of dread. Slowly her hand drew away from the boy’s mouth trailing down, her hand like sandpaper over his cold skin. “What do you want from me?” he asked. “I did as you asked, I didn’t tell anyone about you please, they forced it out of me- my sister, honestly, please, I swear on the heavens please!” the boy begged on profusely, burying his head in his hands, rocking himself back and forth as he let little whimpers and pleads pass his lips. The girl merely watched him, slowly being driven mad by the fear, fear she was causing, fear the red-haired maiden was causing, fear they caused! “do you remember what I told you the first day we met?” asked the girl. “yes.”                                                                                          3. How could he ever forget; on that dull morbid day, just as the sun was saying goodbye seeking shelter behind the sea, an endless horizon for it to lay rest and wait, as the moon took its time to arise from its hidden world. Just before the world went dark, a little boy stood by the swings in his yard lifting it up, and on it sat a little girl about the same age, hair as black as the night, skin pale as the clouds almost translucent, her eyes void of emotions, no spark in them, no light, yet the sounds of laughter coming from the two would have made all prejudice judgements about the girl fade away. They were having the time of their lives. That was the day Carlisle made a new friend, one he hoped would stay with him forever and Altezza found a new soul. “We are friends, now right?” she said as the swing came to a halt. “of course, totally.” “well can you promise me something then?” she asked, looking back at him with those eyes, a never-ending tunnel looking deep into his soul. “anything,” the boy replied. “Promise me that this will be our little secret,” she said gesturing to the two of them. “That whatever I’m about to say now won’t leave this circle, and you won’t tell anyone about seeing me ever- promise?” she asked holding up her pinky. The boy nodded intertwining their pinkies together – and their lives.                                                                                        4. “you promised never to break the promise!” the girl screeched her ear splitting, glass shattering yell resonated in his mind, loud as a gazillion detonators blasting off one after the other without a second’s rest. “you promised.” She screeched lowly, and like a snake she made way to her kill, with slow gliding movements, calculated steps each one bringing her closer and closer to the poor boy, whom had now backed away into the furthest corner of his mind in hopes he would wake up. “Do you know why this woman was here? That day, DO YOU!” she pounced on him aiming for his neck with a vice grip. “she thought she could help, she could keep you safe, all of you, something about being a protector of your worthless people,” she cackled tightening her grip ever so softly. “You. Can. Never, Escape. Me.” She said as her grip on his throat hardened, the boys eyes rolling to the back of his head, hands clawing away at the girls hands trying to break free all futile and in his last moments of life, he gave way to the darkness forever.                                                                                            ~~~ Red. That’s all Leila saw, watching her brother get killed right in front of her, the encounter the woman everything. And these monsters were just going to sit there on their butts and watch this like it was some comedy show? This was a boy’s life! Her brother. “Now, before you decide to throw a little hissy fit about this, I told you I would bring him back in one piece, that’s one piece, Ann will go collect him tomorrow.” Said Mia closing the laptop “excuse me?” “all his limbs are still attached aren’t they? he isn’t missing any of his vital organs so I would say I kept my promise.” She reasoned. “you both knew all along didn’t you, about what was truly going on, didn’t you!” she barked at the two. “knew that your brother made a deal with a crazy psycho who killed herself in that very house, and that red-haired woman your brother saw was trying to scare him away so he would never return? Then yes we most definitely knew that.” Interjected Ann, helping the ‘minions’ clean up. (need to keep the work area clean) “you knew what she would do to do him! How could you? You are both monsters.” Monsters? Aren’t we all? “Did you forget what I told you, before you left to fetch your brother Leila dear?” asked Mia, moving around the couch to stand face to face with her once more, four eyes locked together. “I told you if anything like this were to happen ever, you would do well to tell us first. Its bad to keep us waiting, the dead aren’t known for being patient, oh and how could I forget,” she said leaning over, her lips near her ear she spoke in a deadly whisper. “she was already closing in on him when you came to me, next time you would do well to listen when your superiors are talking so as to avoid this type of fate.” With that the room cleared out. All that could be seen was the outline of a girl blinded with rage and hatred, the same image plastered in her mind – the devils smile.
