Chapter 2

367 Words
Jasmine Sitting in the back room of my herbal bath and home products store doing inventory before I opened in two days, I remembered I have an interview in 10 minutes. Running to the front, I grabbed the application, my grandmother called and picked this candidate for the interview. Before I saw the name, I heard a knock at the door. I put on my best smile and went to the door. “Hi, I am Jasmine Brookes the owner.” I kept looking at his face, trying to figure out why he looked so familiar. “If you follow me, we can get started.” I turned around and started to walk, still trying to figure out why he looked so fam… “You seriously don’t remember me Jazz?” He asks. Before turning around, I looked at the application Sam Black-Storm. “Oh my God, Sammy?” I whipped around and gave him a great big hug and, considering he is six foot to my five-five, now all grown up. I am on my toes just hugging him. “So, Sammy, why do you want to work for me?” I asked after our hug. The time to get to business catching up is after the interview. “Well, I am going to be taking up botany in college next semester and I figure why not learn from the best.” He smiled “Good. Good, I see you are also going to agriculture as well. You seem to have all my requirements and I want someone I can trust considering it going to be the two of us, so when can you start?” I asked. “Whenever you want?” “Good, I will see you tomorrow at 10 am. Now let’s catch up. It’s been like what? Ten years, what are you now, eighteen?” After two hours of talking and catching up with Sam, my grandmother and Avery walked in the door shortly after he left. “Hey grandma and how’s my baby?” I asked both of them. “Mom don’t call me that”, both my grandmother and I laugh. We finished locking the store and went home.
