Becoming Famous

Geo’s POV
It's now 6:00 a.m., still in bed remembering what had happened yesterday. I can't believe that they all know what had happened to me and my family. They support me a lot. They sketched a smile for me yesterday. And now, they want me to join the HATAW DANCE CLUB! They're incredible! At least they made up some things that I lacked.
I am about to
get up when I heard my cellphone ringing. It was Giselle. Tail Girl!
"Yes?"
"Are you
going to school?"
"Yes,
why?" I asked.
"Are you
with someone?"
"Nope!
"May you
please come and fetch me?"
"Don't
you have someone to go with you?"
"I have
but I want to be with you just for a while."
"Give me
reasons!"
"Okay,"
she agreed, "Listen up!. First and foremost, you're famous."
"Famous,
how?"
"I told
you to just listen to me."
"Okay,
then. Proceed!"
"Second,
I want to invite you to join my boyfriend's basketball team."
"Huh?"
"You
heard me, right?"
"Ahhh...yes
I do."
"Then,
come and we'll be waiting for you."
"We?"
"Yeah, me
and Ella."
I hurried in to
take my shower. Then, I proceed to the kitchen and eat less rice and hotdog. I
asked my aunt not to accompany me to school.
"But
why?"
"Just
nothing."
"You need
guardian, Geo. You're still 13."
"No need,"
I answered her but I was already outside waiting for a taxi to pass by.
I am now traveling by bus, for I can't find a taxi. After 15 minutes, I arrived at the place of Giselle. But I can’t see their presence there. I texted her, but she did not reply. I wonder if she was just kidding me. I went directly to the house where she lives. I ask the woman there, and she said that they already left for school.
I am started to think that she was just pranking me. She could just tell me and call me that it was just a prank, but she did not say anything. I started calling her. Her cellphone rings.
“Where are you?” I ask aggressively.
“We are supposed to ask you the same question. Where are you?”
“I’m at your house.”
“We’re not there, I texted you.”
“Huh?” I started to wonder. “But I can’t find your message here. Check your phone maybe…”
I was not finished yet that she admits her mistake.
“I am so sorry, Geo. It’s not sent.”
“That’s okay.” I accepted the apology. “But where are you?”
“We’re here in the gas station.”
“Okay.”
The gas station is one-minute ahead. I have to run to go there. I saw them in a distance. They’re ready for school.
“What next?” I ask them immediately.
“Oh, you’re here. You don’t even greet.” Ella confronts me.
“We’re in a hurry, so I…” She looks at me like a dangerous girl in the world with her eyes so terrible.
“Okay, Good Morning Ladies!”
“That’s it!” Then they both laugh.
"Nothing." one of them answered.
We are now traveling to fetch Giselle’s boyfriend, Shino. Shino is considered as MVP for three years now. While on our way, the two are chatting. I just remain quiet. I did not think about Kaila for today.
“Geo, you’re so cute.” I was taken aback. I wonder what Ella meant to say.
“What?”
“I said, you’re so cute.”
“Ella, I have a girlfriend.”
“So what?” She laughs. “You’re too defensive.”
“Why are you saying that?”
“Just to get you out from boredom. I’ve observed that you’ve been silent since we entered the bus.”
“Thanks.”
“But is there someone who told you that you’re cute and handsome?”
“Not yet, just now.”
“How about Kaila?”
“Nope, we’re just girlfriend and boyfriend, but we practice boundary of respect. We want to reach our dreams before making everything serious.”
“Wow, so faithful.”
Wonder what Giselle is doing? Playing ML, of course. She was scolded by her mother just two days ago, but here she is doing the same.
We're not yet out of the bus, we can see already Shino. He is in practice with his team and coach. He stops dribbling as he saw Giselle approaching.
"Is he the one you are saying, Shino?" Miguel asks.
"Yeah, Geo, right?" Shino asks me, offering his hand for handshake.
"Yes, I am." I accept his offer.
"Well, welcome to the team!" Shino told me happily.
"Welcome to the team, Geo!" They chorus.
"But wait, are you not going to assess me, whether I am qualified or not?"
"There is no need for that, Geo."
"Yes, Geo." The coach now partakes to the discussion.
"Huh?" I am now puzzled to the decision made.
"We saw you yesterday playing basketball in the gymnasium together with your classmate, and since Carl still his injury, it might be right to find replacement." Carl is in the bench watching us conversing. He nods his head in approval.
"Yes, Geo!" He told me with smile in his face and eyes.
"Thank you, Coach! Thank you everyone!"
I feel very happy today. We're already in the school. We're almost late in our class. It's recess time and Kaila has been looking for me this morning. I forgot to inform her that I will be going with Gisselle, but because of my excitement, I forgot to inform her. Will she forgive me for what I just did?
"Where have you been, do you know that..."
"Look, Kaila I am so sorry. I forgot to inform you, I just received the message in the morning."
"No need for that, just ask your new friends to eat with you. For now, stay away from me." She is really angry. I know her very much. Even if you talk to her, she will not answer you if she will become your enemy, even a moth she won't talk.
"Kaila, I'm sorry. Kaila?" She did not answer me back.
