Dance Practice

1100 Words
Geo's POV She is thinking that I will still hold her if she doesn't feel anything for me. The only thing I have to be busy with is to focus on the practice and training. Competitions are fast approaching. “Geo, let’s practice now, dude!” I am sitting on the bench when he told me that. “You’re like a dying plant there.” “Okay, I’ll follow.” I didn’t notice that I was already imagining trivial things. But if she is still playing hard to get, I will also do that to her! I continue practicing with my team. They’re all flexible and good dancers. “Okay, everyone! Let’s move! In my count…three…two…one!” Everybody remembers the stepping I taught to them. After practicing for about one hour and thirty-six minutes after practice, our simple celebration ends. “Geo, is that Kaila?” “Yes, why?” “I am just testing you because I’ve observed that you are becoming far from each other.” “You’re right. We have not talked for two days now.” “So, time to move on and focus on our careers.” “Yeah! It’s better.” I make my voice as audible as the amplifier so that she can hear. She just looked at me then turn her head. I don’t care anymore if she will take me back or not. Besides, I am still young, very young! “Geo?” Giselle calls me again. “Yes?” I responded. “What is this again, Giselle?” “Nothing! I just want to invite you if you like to have swimming again.” “I don’t like to swim again, it’s not healthy for me.” "Why?" "I have problem with..." I want to reason out that every time I will join the team for swimming, the problem will always fall on me. My ears will start to ring and I can't be able to hear for a week. But I saw Kaila looking at us, listening to our conversation. "Fine, I will go. What time is the swimming?" "Are you sure?" "Yes!" I make my voice loud and clear to make sure Kaila heard it right. She knew well that I don't like swimming. "This evening, at seven. Make sure you'd come." "Yeah, I will, promise!" Right after the conversation, I went immediately to the Dance Room. Her eyes is following me until I reach inside. "So, what now?" "We've been waiting for you, dude, but you were conversing with Giselle, so we did not mind to disturb you then." "Since, I am now around let's have some routine first. Who will lead the exercise, you Diego?" "Yeah, if you wish me to." Diego is now leading the group to have some exercise. I am not really good at leading dancers. To be honest, I am afraid to commit mistakes. Since the time our leader graduated from the school. I am left alone to handle them. But I am very lucky to have them. Very Cooperative! After the exercise, we started to practice some steps. Contest is fast approaching and I don't want my team not to win the contest. It would be a shame if we will not be included in the TOP 10 FINALISTS! So far, they're doing great. My team works smooth and well. But I remember my mother that if there is no such a thing as "against". It would mean that my team is not a good team. Why is that so? "Alright guys! I think we need water break. I think we need to stop for a while." I told them. After they depart from the practice area, I approach Diego who is sitting on the floor. "Why are you not having your water break?" I ask Diego. Diego is still 12 years old. I am a year ahead of him. "I am not thirsty, Geo." "Ahhh..." Then I ask him a question, a question that I have been longing to ask them. "Diego, is our team fit for the contest?" "What kind of question is that, Geo." "Of course, we are fit. We can do it. We can be champion, ya know?" "Yeah, I know that, but did you observe that we are not that competent yet?" "Yeah, you're right!" "Maybe, I have to work on it." "Yes, Geo. We need to, not only you. We are a team, right?" "Let's just wait for them. I will have to say something that will help our group." After five minutes in silence, my team came. But what do I have to say to them. Maybe, everything will jut be in my mind. I will just based on the observation I have. "Come, everyone. Let's gather for awhile! I have something very important to say." "What is that, Geo?" Michael interrupts me. "Later, when everybody is here." I answered him. "Are we complete?" Everyone is counting. Looking for someone. We can't identify who's missing. "There you are! Jude, where have you been?" Jason is angry. "That's okay, don't make any movement. Right, listen up." "I have observed that we still lack many skills in dancing. We seems not to know where left and right. That's why..." "Are we quitting," Jack murmurs. "No, we're not!" I continued. "We just need to practice and practice. Do some research. Apply what we see, apply everything we know." "How," a voice from them, but I don't know exactly who that was. "I will reserve a slip for you, to each of you. I think the school will allow us to use the e-library this night, and I will do what I can." After the announcement I gave, I dismiised them early. I am still wondering what I can contribute. In what area should I focus on. The only thing I can do for now is planning, but up until when should I plan. Next month is already the contest. "You're doing great, Bro." "Ouh, Clark, you're here!" I smile a little but my attention is still focus on planning. "I saw your face. You seems problematic today." "Yeah, I am." "Don't handle everything, Geo. You can ask help from us if you want." He offers his right hand for a handshake. I thought he is just a simple guy, just following order, but here he is proving he can do even better that me. "Thank you, Clark." Clark and I talked and discussed our plans. He has many suggestions so I have to list it all down. I felt light because someone was there to help me.
