Chapter 19 Sartin woke and found Samsel beginning to make his downward journey across the night sky. A slight breeze rustled the palm trees near where the two men slept as waves slapped the beach lightly in the dark night. Sartin climbed out of his pool and pulled himself to the water’s edge. The cool water calmed his anxiety. When the ocean retreated from the beach, Sartin jumped into the current and went out into the lagoon. He missed his evening swims before returning to the pod for the night. Sartin came up for air and bobbed along the surface. He marveled at the quiet of the lagoon. Had this been Winter Beach or even Home Cove, the sound of flicking tails would have filled the night. The silence allowed grief to once again pervade Sartin’s body. He missed the others at Winter Beach
